Before we booked this hotel, we had read bad reviews so we were slightly apprehensive. But when we arrived, the hotel was amazing, the room was amazing, the bed was amazing and the shower was amazing. The location was also great. When we walked out of Centraal station (only took 15 minutes by train), the hotel was straight in front of us. It was close enoguh to everything, but not too close.
We had no problems at all over the three days, and I would definately recommend the hotel to anyone. Red light district wasn't as exciting as we expected, leidesplein was great and so were the waffles at the haagen dazs cafe and the crepes at australia (esp after a visit to bulldog palace). All in all, a perfect valentines weekend!!!

Its a great place BUT... Ive just been for New Year and it wasnt so great. The place was jam packed FULL of people and the pick pockets were rife! Ive never seen anywhere so busy in all my life. Apart from that we still had a great time as usual.
We stayed at the Victoria Hotel this time and it was lovely - everything that I'd read about it was true, it really was a first class 4 star hotel, beautiful reception, lounge, bar etc etc another BUT... the rooms, well, they were nice but I felt they were a bit basic given the fact it was a 4 star hotel and the rest of the place was perfect. Nothing really wrong with them just not quite the 4 star room I was expecting.
