The area isnt that wonderful and didnt have much to do so I would say more for couples just wanting to relax and do adult stuff, there is Zoo Marine which is amazing but unless you stay at a holiday village with lots of things for the kids to do then not really suitable for young families

Great place to relax. Clean beaches and very beautiful surroundings. The local town of Tavira is very traditional but there are plenty of restaurants with good eating to be had. The sunsets over the ocean are amazing.

Just what you want from a holiday. Original Portugal - cobbled streets, old fashioned shops. Very olde weldy

100% fabulous. We return to this resort upto twice a year and have done so for the last 5 years. Entertainment is very good with many bars, clubs and discos to choose from suiting all ages and tastes, we can personally recommend 'Tony's Sports Bar' situated just outside the 'Oura View Beach' and behind the English Chippy, Tony and Fatima are more than friendly and offer fabulous service and for those football/sports fans Tony has multiple tv's which he has tuned in to show every game/event all day & night. The restaurants are second to none and the food is excellent, the sea bass served in a roof tile is most defintely something everyone visiting should try. If you have never been to this resort before you don't know what you're missing!

Lovely resort, would recommend to everyone, young and old. Beach was fabulous but approached by a large amount of steps which, if you suffer from vertigo ar panic attacks, are not great. However, you can approach the beach further along, if you are careful, and dont mind walking along the cliff path. (which is fenced). Beautiful walk, along the beach, to the beautiful Villamoura Marina, well worth a visit.

Never left the hotel, as I was worried the tattoo'd masses would nick my wallet. And anyway I didn't want to spend an evening in the company of aggressive lagered thugs and their fat lovers.

Our best family holiday trips have been to Armacao De Pera. Lots of family hotels but our favourite is Vila Vita. There are many restaurants with good prices and even the little ones were happy with the kids menu. Great beaches as well.

the resort itself is huge with lots of things to do and see you must go on the seafaris dolphin trip and go on the boat tornado omg the best trip ever and we saw lots of dolphins restaurants to reccommend the best alcaide turn down where the fire station is and its the first one on the left food and service fantastic try the rack of lamb or the fillet steak o henrique on the main street a touch expensive but very classy o pinguim right opposite vilabranca good value decent food serving traditional portugese but also homemade pizzas we went to zoomarine which is a good day out but when you have seen the dolphins in their natural enviroment its not the same , the high diving show and the 4d cinema not to be missed all in all one of the best holidays ive ever had , my 13 year old daughter had a fantastic time and will be definately returning to lagos and vilabranca next year

It was a taxi ride away to the old town which was nice.We were only there are week therefore did not get to see much of the surrounding sites but we were told that the zoomarina was excellent for kids but mine were a bit small for it, and as it was inland it was very hot there.

Limited number of taxis in the evening. Small resort but only 20 min walk into Albufera. We didn't venture outsdie of the village very often as there was so much going on. I saw most of the resort whilst out running each day!

Very quiet resort, a few hotels and a small number of bars and restaurants. Rocky beach but there is a swimming area at the end of the promenade which is very popular with the locals at weekends. Local bus service into Funchal and Canical which has a couple of decent supermarkets.

The resort has plenty of entertainment with a wide range of bars and restaurants to suit everyone. The old town proves the more lively part of the resort with a livelier range of bars of all types . On the Strip the best place to go for food is Garfolandia where you get good food for a reasonable price. The best bars are Erins Isle which has a family friendly atmosphere with great evenig entertainment every night , also Absolbar which has karaoke every night . The beaches are fantastic and very clean . The resort as a whole is fantastic .
