The old town square has lots of atmosphere at night and lots of entrainment to keep the kids happy. Side streets with shops and bars are great too. The beach is very clean and tidy and the sea is clean. I would recommend eating at one of the restaurants overlooking the beach.

This resort was very good.Lots ro do and see.The strip is for young ones who want to party the night away.The old town is for everyone.Lots of restaraunts and bars. The beach is beautiful.Weather was great. We found this resort clean and safe.

Affordable yet not cheap would be how I would describe Carvoeiro. There are enough restaurants and bars to offer variety and quality. Even the cheapest can be cheerful and offer good service and quality. Local beaches are fantastic, very clean and vast. Highly recommended.

The resort offered lots of activities but as I went with my boyfriend we would have liked a bit more nightlife. We went in April and a lot of the bars and pubs were closed. I would go back during more of a peak season next time.

Great beach,good bars and restaurants. The strip is very busy. Not so bad in April but full of drunken yobs in peak season. Having said that if you choose your bars and restaurants carefully good times are here to be had,

The Alfagar apartments are siuated in Balaia, so Bars and Restuarants were about a 20-30 min walk away to the nearest ones. Apartments in a quiet location.

We found that this is probably more for young people age 16-20. We did however a couple of nights take a taxi into the old town, which we thought was a better place and didnt cost much for a taxi and we had no problem getting a taxi back to our apartment.

Good resort but more for stags and hens and not really for families but very lively and friendly and lots of choice for eating out and pubs. Quiete expensive for drinks if you dont manage to buy within the "happy hour" which normally finishes at 10pm.

Didn't really go out in Balaia, went into Albulfeira a few times which is a short cab journey away and there's obviously plenty there.

Nice quiet place with fantastic clean beaches. The sea is amazing, so blue and the water is very clean. Lots of soft sand to roll around and have a nap. The beaches are well maintained and virtually litter free. great place to relax.

We went for the 11am English-language tour and were the only ones in line so our tour became a personal tour of Casa da Musica. The tour covers all of the behind-the-scenes spaces including the blue and white tiled VIP room.The building itself is absolutely great! Created by Rem Koolhas, it is surely a must-see in Porto. It holds a huge variety of events, not only music-related: from classical to dancefloor music to architecture conferences. High quality guaranteed!

Quarteira is a very quiet place, it is perfect for a relaxing weekend. The beaches are great and you have a lot of restaurants to choose from so you can never get bored.

Alvor is a lovely old village with lots of narrow old streets and nice square in the middle with two cafes. Plenty of restaurants mainly on two streets including Italian, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Portuguese. Then there is the harbour area where there are numerous fish restaurants and a couple of other cafes. The beach is huge, with loads of space if you want it. The bit down the far eastern end is lovely and quite enclosed by rock formations, caves etc, but probably a 40 min walk from the hotel.

Fantastic resort. Loved the beaches and Alvor center was great. Eating out was reasonable and was very tasty.

Very quiet resort which is what we were looking for. beach is nice but down a very big hill and lots of steps so not ideal with a toddler. Restaurants were good value but choices were limited.
