this hotel is the best i have ever been to. The ladies that work there are very kind and helpful. The location is great, right by the beach. There is lots of entertainment near the hotel at night. The pool bar has lots of choice for drinks and ice cream. I will defiantly go again!!! :)

Stayed in a spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with fantastic views over the bay from the huge balcony which was great for dining & sunbathing. Rooms very clean, furniture simple but I went on holiday for the sun. Just a 5 minute walk to town & beach now that they've put an outdoor escalator down the hill. The pool area is small but the beach stretches for miles & in the summer you need the sea breeze to cool you down.

Just returned from a lovely holiday at the Club do Monaco and were very pleased with the huge 3 bedroom apartment we had with wonderful views down to Fishermans Beach. The Old Town was down a lot of steps but well worth it with plenty of shops and restaurants. The nearest supermarket is just up the road where there are also shops and restaurants.

We will certainly be returning to Albufeira and the Clube do Monaco.

We own timeshare at this complex, although apartments are available to rent direct. We have owned this for some 17 years and have nearly always 'swapped'. However, on changing our two weeks in June for two weeks in August this year, we decided to give it another go. I had totally forgotten just how small the swimming pool is. I have relatives with larger pools in their back garden! Severe lack of space around the pool. No room to move once you have found your space! The snack bar at the pool was verging on 'ok', but if the girl behind the bar needed to have lunch, needed the loo etc then the place shut down until someone decided to reappear. Also the snack bar should have stayed open until 8pm. Not so; if the pool was not busy then they shut! On previous visits the complex had a roof top bar which was quite pleasant to return to, after an evening of 'climbing steps' into the old town. There is no bar available now and no intention to re-open it - so forget having a meal and drink at the complex during the evening - non-existent!

Our change of apartment was a shock. The side of the apartment faced directly onto a blank, 8ft wall, with (wait for it), barbed wire above, separating us from the complex next door which was directly next to the swimming pool area and we were directly overlooked by all their apartments. Consequently it was not an option to ever open your bedroom doors or curtains. This, combined with delightful french people upstairs who were determined to cover our balconies with cigarettes, hang sheets over our bedroom windows and throw a beach ball down to us, made staying in the apartment thoroughly miserable. The apartment itself was stuck in a time warp, furnished identically to when we first purchased the apartment.

The central areas were pleasant enough and cleanliness excellent. (So is my home)!

We did find a delightful section of the beach, with small seafood restaurant, sunbeds and excellent service, Rei dos Mares. We can thoroughly recommend it.

Watch out for the pier. When the tide goes out there is a distinct aroma of sewage where the sewage pipes dispense of their contents where the pier meets the beach (delightful)!

The 'Strip' was as lively as ever and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visits to this part. Also the old town is very atmospheric, although some of the entertainers were so repetitive I feel
I know every word of 'Rhinestone Cowboy' and 'Red Red Wine' off by heart!

Would we go again? Certainly, but I am afraid not to Clube do Monaco. It is so inaccessible to the restaurants and beaches, but with no facilities of their own to make it worth while - and never stay in apartments that have some rooms at the rear of the comples (barbed wire).
