Alvor is a beautiful resort. A very nice clean beach several miles long. Lifeguards on patrol on large part of the beachfront. The town itself is very quaint - lots of restaurants and backstreets to explore. Particurly liked the prominade which runs from the fishing port to the old town and a hundred metres or so along the Ribiera Do Farelo river along which the town is set. Nice place to wander around. Prices also quite reasonable 40-50 euros for a meal 2 Adults and 2 children. Supermarket close to hotel rather pricy - use the small shops within the old town - 15 to 20% cheaper. Area well located for Portimao and Lagos. Bus to Lagos around 3.75 euros one way. This is only a 20 minute bus ride away and makes pleasant change. Lagos very interesting - nice market, marina and walled town.

These apartments are a good size and reasonably well located for the town of Alvor - less than 10 minutes to centre of old town and prominade area. However, the apartments themselves are disappointing in some respects. Some of the apartments can be noisy at...

We have just spent 2 weeks in Vitor's plaza in August 2008 with our 14 year old daughter and had a wonderful time. It is located a 4 euro taxi drive from Alvor and a 6 euro taxidrive from Praia da Rocha. Free courtesy bus morning and afternoon to Praia da R...

Our Hotel was on the beach and we enjoyed all that Alvor ahd to offer. What we like about Alvor so that it is not trying to be a holiday resorts for us Brits, it has a cosmopolitan feel about it.

I was a little anxious after reading a review about this hotel, but we had a great holiday. Our room was clean and tidy and the maid service excellent. The pool area was kept clean and you could change your towels as often as you liked. The breakfast buffet...
