To get to the beech, turn right outside of the appartments, it is approx 10 minute walk downhill, just follow the road and you won't go wrong. The resort itself is nice, most of the shops close by 9pm particularly the supermarkets and reopen at 08.30am. All the restaurants we ate at were very acceptable, in particular the Clipper which we did find very pricey. the local dish, cataplana is tasty, but you can only order it for a minimum of 2 people, cost is around 28 euros. It is a fish dish cooked in tomatoes, very tasty but quite basic with no rice veg or potatoes. If you want a Sunday roast the place to eat is the Water Dog Pub (English owned). The cost of a sunbed for the day is 7 euros, compared to Greece, this is very pricey. The beeches are what they say they are, very long, very sandy. The resort itself is mainly for people who want to relax, so if you are looking for nightlife, not the place to be. The nice thing about the resort is that there are no roaming dogs or cats, likewise you do not have people comming up to you to sell you something you do not want. Although this was our first time to Portugal, it was very nice, we would not be in a hurry to go back and will continue to holiday in Greece.

We have just returned from a one week holiday at the Baiona Club Appartments. We booked via the internet for the very first time and were quite scared it would all go wrong, but no problems at all. If you do book your holiday over the internet, have you not...

Going at the end of March, the resort was naturally quiet, and left us with a peaceful holiday. The hotel is on the western outskirts of the resort, but nowhere seems to be more than 15 minutes walk away. The beach is only 5 minutes away, and involves crossing the dual carriageway main road, which can be fairly busy at times. However, we had no problems, the traffic seemed to enjoy stopping at the crossing, although some do leave the braking a tad late! There is an excellent range of restaurants for eating out - two Chinese 5 minutes away, an English pub (The Water Dog) with English food menu, and a variety of other restaurants - especially those specializing in fish. Porter's comes highly recommended, and, like quite a few other eateries, does a "tourist menu". In the case of Porter's, the tourist menu comprises a starter (4 choices), main meal (6 choices), choice of desert, carafe of wine, and coffee. All this for about 12 Euros!!!! Another good choice is "O Grehaldor" restaurant. To find this, turn right at the roundabout into town and go westerly up the hill for about 1 mile (we took a taxi!!!), and the restaurant is on the left. It's a bit pricy, but we thought it was good value for money. The ambience is superb, and a tray of fresh fish is brought to your table for you to make your choice. Don't like fish? The fillet steak was soooooo tender!

The hotel met all our expectations for an "out-of-season" holiday. We stayed on a B&B board, mainly because of reading previous reviews for this hotel. We are glad we did, as we tried eating-in once, and was very disappointed with the menu. Having said th...

Armacao De Pera is not the prettiest resort at first glance, but the beach is fabulous. You can walk further down the beach for a better outlook.

This hotel is fabulous. A few bar restaurants around, but not much else. Fabulous place for a relaxing holiday. Could not fault the hotel in any way. Do not expect exciting nightlife here, the highlight of the night time entertainment was the parrot show...
