A short walk into town & the beach - an ideal destination for a relaxing holiday - can't wait to return, already booked for 2010

10-15 mins walk into town centre. The cliff route to be recommended rather than down the busy main street.Lots of choices for restaurants, pubs, etc.Some of the cities were bigger than I thought, my expectations were more sleepy fishing villages. The beaches are the highlight of Portugal for me.

Not the greatest of resorts, not many 'nice' resturaunts. Only 1 or 2 that you woudl actually want to go into looking at the front of them. The ones right on the beach were nice, but others were pretty average.

Be prepared the portuguise over salt everything, there is a resturanunt up the side of the beeach where you are on a rooftop terrace, the place was very nice and the food looked amazing but it took about 3 days to get rid of the burn of salt!

Piri piri chicken was nice in teh various places we had it but was very small, it may as well of been a Robin or budgie rather than a chicken, tho this is the same everywhere we were told.

Fresh fish was great on sea front places.

Not alot to do in the resort, not many bars and the ones that are there were empty. Irish times was sometimes busy but the owner bloke was incredibly misrable!

I would say dont go to this resort but go to albufera.

Nice small resort,clean and tidy,friendly staff at stores and cafe's.resonable prices are charged by every cafe.The little train is ideal for young and old,use it to see the resort and the surrounding area,

Carvoeiro is a very clean resort. Most of the restaurants are quite expensive but the food is not too bad.

The centre has a variety of eating establshments covering most tastes from local selctions to indian, chinese and tapa's, as with all beaches in the algarve clean and sandy - no pebbles.A small selection of shops offering various items.

Nice small resort with plenty of bars and excellent restaurants. Not for young uns looking to party.

Fab location, not too far from beach and great restaurants nearby. There was a swimming pool that was a good size so no one would be squashed, kids play area and tennis courts, this gave the children loads of options of what they wanted to do in the day.

The resort has a very friendly village type of appeal with plentiful restaurants and bars set around a square that is being renovated at the moment and should be finished in May 2009. There is a small beach by the main square but there are plenty of other lovely beaches within 5 minutes drive of the main resort. You could eat out every day for two weeks and still not have tried half of the restaurants!

carvoeiro is very small but is a great place for eating out, had good meals wherever we ate.some to mention are ghef antonio, oasis, and the indian going up the hill on the right that was very good,glad we had the car got out to different places,really enjoyed the beach at alvor you could walk for miles

Carvoeiro is my favourite holiday destination in Europe. I love the place, there are so many places to eat and drink and even after 6 visits - we've still got loads to try. The Italian opposite the hotel is excellent, but you may have to book - the only downside this year was the cost of everything. It is really expensive with the pound being so poor, drinks are just too much and vary in price dramatically depending on where you go. We enjoy Bradys when Klonakilty are playing (an Irish duet) but they rip you off big time as do Sullys, so we mainly went to Mungos, where the drinks were reasonable, Algar Seco pool bar is also worth a visit - the miserable waiter that has been there for the previous 3 years seems to have gone - hopefully for good and has been replaced by a waiter who is polite, smiley and genuinely nice. I always think it is a real shame that you are not able to use the facilities at the pool without paying, as there is very rarely enyone there and they must be losing money. The prices of food and drink are very reasonable, in fact one of the cheapest around and the setting is wonderful. Food prices are good value wherever you go, especially for steak. A fantastic holiday in a lovely Hotel!

It is quite a long trek to Carveira from Rocha Brava. We were slightly disappointed with the town since it is not the quaint little fishing town we were led to believe. However the restaurants are very good. We particularly loved Medina, a Moroccan restaurant with fab food and atmosphere.

Small hilly town, lots of resturants etc. Stay away for the Geletaria resturnat at the bottom of the hill oin the left, its awful. The stone steak place is great fun. For the Kids ice creams, it is netter to go to one of the ice cream place up the hill the the ice cream palour, the ice cream there wa very waterey and icy, as if it had been thawed and refrozen.

The resort of CArvoeiro was very nice , lovely beaches and a great selection of bars and restaurants. Buses and taxis are cheap and plentiful. Its a lovely resort for both families and couples. Try the creperie/ice cream shop next to Sully's Bar , the selection is fantastic.

This is a lovely holiday village, complete with shop and resturant. With two pools and a kids playgroup and kids club. There is not much going on around the village. There are a few pizza places close by and a short bus ride which the complex puts on takes you to the nearest beach. To be honest you don't need it. Its the perfect quiet place to hide away with the family. The kids loved the pools and playground. Everyone was really helpful and friendly.
