A fantastic beach, lots of shells and Sometimes there were starfish on the beach. A very long beach great for swimming and walking. family orinatated and safe resort. Not too lively, no discos til early hours, plenty bars in main square. There is a casino which has a show worth a visit. Very easy to cross into spain, catch ferry across in next town very cheap to do, catch bus less than 10 minutes to get to. Trip to seville well worth a vist. We plan to go back, very restful and locals very friendly.

a very restful resort with just about enough facilities to enjoy your holiday .fabulous beach sun beds just 10 euroes plus wind brake if required.7 days hire for the price of 6.very helpful beach staff.lots of places to eat out and not to expensive.nice walks and very flat so handy for older co uples. river cruise highly recommend 48 euroes but well worth it lovely meal included.theres plenty of buses to other resorts.

Monte Gordo is purpose built and was probably in its prime in the 1980's. There has not been a lot done to bring it into the 21st century. great beaches, near to the spanish border and with an irregular bus and train service.A Very flat which is good for walking and is best suited to couples who require a tranquil holiday. British are only a perecentage of visitors witha large numberof Dutch and some Germans. Only a few bars but plenty of restaurants

Monte Gordo is 3 miles from the Spanish border and has an hourly bus service and train service along the coast to Faro. The beach is excellent but the resort itself has little character. it is very flat and is good for anyone with walking difficulties. Seville is a good but quite expensive day trip with an early start- well worth it. Also a river trip is recommended. If hiring a car ensure you are covered to drive in Spain. Many companies do not cover you fr this or charge a large premium

Monte Gordo is a small, pleasant resort with plenty of bars and restaurants,but no music bars or discos,although a show is available at the casino.The whole resort is charming and the people are friendly.I would recomend the river cruise from Villa Real,a real experience with a lovely meal included and entertainment. If we were to emigrate it would be to Monte Gordo.

I found this resort very pleasent, very good beaches, Fair selection of bars and restuarants. Prices to suit every pocket. Casino is a good night out for meal and show. Worth going over to Spain on ferry. Area flat suitable for those with walking difficulties

Lovely beach,great centre for touring

The resort was very pleasant and the beaches very clean. We felt very safe walking around after dark and enjoyed the area very much and would certainly visit again.

Too small.4 days is enough time in Montegordo.

Resort quite low key more for couples 40's plus. No music bars and and only two British bars and one Irish bar. Not for young and lively. Beach goes on for miles although seaweed at edge of water when we were there. Good trip up Guadiana river between Portugal and Spain.
