nothing in luz, the beach is clean and the prom at the end has a few resteraunts, if you go mid sept. you will find a lot has closed up, the resort is unusually quiet and is ideal for older people but not for the young to middle aged. one thing to keep in mind is that the whole village - resort is small cobbled streets and is very slippy so a good pair shoes needed. i cant tell you any more as there was nothing open to see. there is a chemist, small supermarket, various places to eat, but they are well spread out, some small craft shops a church and that is about it. taxi to lagos is about 8 euro. the weather was great but cold at night so you should take a jacket.

we knew that this resort was quiet but there is quiet and then there is grave yard quiet. i can see the attraction for the elderly but i cannot see the attraction for anybody else unless all they want to do is sit by a pool all day and do nothing else.

We have just returned from Oasis Beach and we have had a lovely holiday here. We stayed here originally four years ago when the apartments were new and booked to go again this year. After reading the recent reviews on the apartments, we were beginning to ...

Luz is ideal if you want a relaxing,do little holiday but if your party contains teenagers there is nothing for them to do(one night club) There are not that many restuarants and the ones that there were get very busy at night and in most cases it is recommended that you pre-book. The menus do not offer much choice and are quite expensive. We travelled to Lagos on the bus (1 euro 30 or 10 euro taxi)and found that this was a much larger and busier resort with more choice of eateries that were cheaper. There is a wooden hut in Luz called Pizza Real that does take-aways, again the menu is limited but the Caesar salad is excellent but this gets really busy and a long wait can ensue.A refreshing aspect of the resort is that there are very few gift shops and no "lucky lucky men" We had 2 meals in Chaplins (near the church) and they were excellent both times. Some one recommended The Bull but we were very very disappointed. We went on one excursion to the Zoomarine, about 30 euros each, this is highly recommended it was an excellent day out with loads to do and see(the dolphins were superb)

Just got back from a fortnight at the Oasis Beach Appts. After having read some of the reviews we were a litte wary of what we might find, but we were pleasantly surprised, The appt was clean, roomy, with a well equipped kitchen large fridge freezer(but no ...

"Praia Da Luz"

Praia Da Luz is quiet. Very quiet. But couldn't fault the food, prices etc. It is bascially a beach and pool holiday. but we knew this when we booked. We wouldn't go to Praia again.

We had an apartment in Block C, First Floor Aparatment F. It was not 'massive' as previous reviews stated. It was next to the road which was noisy, and had a normal size balcony. You also couldn't open the toilet door fully as this hit the toilet! It was...
