"Nightmare place!!! do no go!!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Food was appauling, crisps in the food heater one day and the xmas gala dinner was cold fishfingers from dinner time for starters!!! The entertainment was terrible and bar staff were told to slow down serving because too much alcohol was being used in the AI programme so the wait at the bar was shameful.

"Great Hotel ,Fantastic Staff"
Overall Hotel Rating:
On the outskirts of Quarteira, well served by free Shuttlebus. The staff are excellent and go that one step more to help.We stayed all incluse at Christmas and can only have the higheat praise for the staff. Food...breakfast will be as good as a 4 star hotel, self service. Lunch, limited choice, but suitable for all.Dinner is very Portuguese ...with even the non Portuguese token, tasting Portuguese....so if Portuguese food does not excite...then use other options. Quarteira is very expensive...supermarket prices are double UK prices..but then the Algarve is quite expensive.Off season, very quiet ..no lager louts, the town is clean and safe and boring. I can reccomend Pinal di Sol Hotel to take good care of its guests and try harder to ensure a pleasant stay .
"An all inclusive joke"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Was very supprised that the reviews I had read here & the experience I had was so different. My experience along with everyone else I spoke to seems quite different. This was supposed to be an 'all inclusive' trip. The only resemblance to this kind of deal was the yellow wrist band! At best the food was half board. The food & drink was of extremly poor quality. If you can imagine some of the reconstituted rubish you get in budget supermarkets.....well it wasn't quiet as good as that. I wish I had taken some photos now of the limited selection & what was being offered as you could see how bad it was before tasting it. One lunch time 1 of the 3 meal options on the heated trolley was crisps! Snacks were available in the bar from 2 - 7 but this consisted of toasties. On the day I asked for cheese & onion, I was told "No, just cheese or ham" It was imposible to get a 'fizzy' coke or mixer. You could sit there all night with neat whiskey's & not even get merry. I can't say we went hungry but we had hoped this trip would be a bit of xmas over indulgence. Instead we felt like we left everyone at home to over indulge. On the plus side, the hotel was very clean & the staff generally very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is not fussy about what they eat & if your on a tight budget & just don't want to starve! I would also suggest (like us) having a hire car. Its a long way from the town but close to the water park. So if thats your thing in the summer, your laughing
"Portugese Routemarch"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Hotel is set in the middle of nowhere,a "free" minibus service from the hotel is available into Quarteira/Villamora but not frequent enough.
The food,breakfast/dinner were poor,ok if you love very little choice in the morning and cauliflower in the evening, bar snacks were the same and all overpriced.
There was very little "BAD" entertainment in the evening, something to miss!
Hotel rooms were massive but dull even during the day as there are several large trees close to the balconeys, and daily maid service that decided to knock on the door daily at around 5.00pm not in the morning.

"Hotel Pinhal Do Sol review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Although described as being a Hotel in Quarteria, It is nowhere near it!. The location is some 4k, uphill fron the resort and beach. Plenty of walking and Taxi's to get around.
The Hotel is clean and tidy. Pool and gardens, well maintained. If you walk to the end of the Hotel, past the the two private Villas, there is a quieter pool and gardens. Well worth it to chill out.
The Bar is overpriced with the poorest service and measures, we have found in many visits throughout the Algarve. If you want a cheap and cheerful drink, turn left out of the Hotel and walk to the nearby locals bar. The large ";Super Bock"; there (1.75 EU's) and other drinks are less than half the prices in the ";Pinhal";. For an excellent meal, turn right from the Hotel and walk past the ";Al Sakia"; Village complex to ";Monteiro's";. The Boss well known around the area and has started up this venue. ";Cesar"; is a friendly guy and will put the Football on for you and his music selection covers all tastes!. Used also by Hotel guests when the Bar shuts at midnight.
In Quarteria, visit the ";Mona Lisa"; and meet Simon, Mike and Yvonne. Excellent meals, Brit draught beers and a meeting place for ex-pats, gossip etc. If you are younger, the ";Caddilac"; is the place to meet. Villamora is an easy walk and offers far more in the way of Bars, Food and Shopping.
