VILAMOURA IS LOVELY IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A LOW KEY HOLIDAY WITHOUT THE USUAL LAGER LOUTS, THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS IT GOT WAS A GROUP OF MIDDLE AGE MEN THERE FOR THE GOLF, AND SINGING "MY WAY". THE BEACH IS BEAUTIFUL AND CLEAN, THEY EVEN HAVE ASTRAYS ON THE BEACH AND DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED. THE MARINA IS BEAUTIFUL WITH A LOT OF NICE RESTAURANTS AND BARS. DIDNT DO ANY SHOPPING. WE WENT TO ALBUFERIA FOR THE DAY AND WHAT A CONTRAST FROM VILAMOURA, IT WAS DIRTY AND A BIT SCAREY, EVEN THROUGH THE DAY. THE OLD TOWN WAS NICE BUT ONLY FOR A DAY VISIT.

Vilamoura itself has lots to do, lovely beach right over the road from the hotel which is gorgeous. Fantastic area where you can hire out matress type beds to sunbathe on - great if there are a few of you to split the cost. The marina is great with some lovely bars and restaurants, the irish bar (on the decking by the marina) is great atmosphere and good if like my boyfriend you wana watch the footy! :) The restaurants by the marina although a bit dearer are lovely - we found a great chinese called Tai Tai which was not as expensive and great food. Round the back of the marina are some other more cheap restaurants (you pay for the view i guess).

For those of you who like shoppping - great shopping centre near albufuera has a nike shop with 30% off (factory outlet) and loads of more traditional shops like mango and zara which are slightly cheaper than in the UK.
