We have just returned home from a weeks holiday in the Cidadela Hotel Cascais nr. Lisbon in Portugal.The rest of the guests were mainly Americans who were getting most of the attention from the staff.The room was very comfortable and was kept very clean with room service every day.
We went on a Bed and Breakfast tarrif but the breakfast was very basic.We had a few evening meals in the hotel as well but we didnt enjoy those much either.
Most of the Resturants in the town were all serving the same sort of Menu's but we did find a small resturant up a little side road called Edoudos it was very good with something a bit different and inexpensive.
In the hotel bar there was supposed to be a piano player but for the first couple of nights he wasnt there then for a couple of nights he played a few numbers then he retired to the bar for a while then he played a few more songs. It was a great pity that the bar wasnt used by many guests just about eight of us, One couple got up and danced to the music they were very good.
I dont think we will return to Cascais as everything was very expensive all the shops were selling designer label goods so there were no little gifts we could buy. There were hardly any beach area to speak of and what there was had nothing that we could sit on.
