"Good access to the mountain walks"

Overall Resort Rating:

Excellent

Open quote

Best for people who like levada walking and spending most of their time on top of mountains and cliffs. Not for the average sun seeking holiday maker. You must be a nature fanatic to truly appreciate the amazing views. If you want a large selection of restaurants and nightlife stick to the bigger cities.

This is not really a resort, jut an area of exceptional beauty in Madeira, you will need a car to get there, there is lots of exploting to do, the levadas are exceptional.

"Great Mountain Location."

Overall Resort Rating:

Good

the mountains in Maderia are unusual. Go on the south side of island as this holds less mist than the northern side. This pousada is on the southern side. A car is recommended but be careful as the roads are very steep. We travelled mainly by the irregular bus service which is vey cheap at 2 euros a journey. if not you can go by the more expensive taxi service.
