Playa de las Americas was a good resort, It had loads going on, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. A great short transfer time from Tenerife South. I would definatly visit again.

You can't go far wrong with Playa de las Americas really, typical resort built for Brits and the like but for decent weather in winter you can't beat it. Plenty of good bars showing Eastenders etc, all you need!

We have been to Spain umpteen times over the years, but this was our first trip to Tenerife surprisingly. The resort was quite nice, we liked the excursions to the national park and volcano though. The resort did have lots of nice bars and restaurants.

Playa de las Americas is a good place to go with teenagers, as there is plenty to do. Beach is very nice, lots of arcades etc and shops. Plus lots of places showing the football, seems to be essential for a winter holiday!

the beach isnt to good it isnt that far from the hotel .plenty of pubs to eat out at , and loads of clubs and bars to pick from to have a good time . this resort is more for young couples or young lads and lasses and even hen partys and stag partys.

We like Playa de las Americas, you know what you are going to get. It is a pretty safe Brit-Med type place, lots of good English bars and restaurants showing the latest Eastenders, Corrie and football. Good place to relax in the sun!

The resort is small and mainly made up of hotels and villas. There is a very small shopping area with a couple of restaurants but not much else. The hotel more than makes up for the area and if happy to stay around the hotel then it's very good. There is plenty of walking you can do and there are buses into Las Americas - the hotel runs a courtesy bus.

This is a quiet resort. We were there 14 years ago and therefore knew it was a quiet place which suits us fine for a winter week. There are not a lot of shops etc but if this suits you, go for it. There are a couple of new hotels/apartment blocks and general house building going on and the resort is growing.

Small resort set on the coast on a curving road. Makes a nice walk from the Hotel. There are a few Bars and just a handfull of shops for souveniers. The Farmacia is there as well. The bus runs from there to playa los americas and to other places of interest. Not a place in my opinion for young couples as they would not find enough night life but they could use the bus or taxis to get to a more lively area.

Puerto del Carmen is a nice resort, there is plenty to do for the children - there are a couple of playgrounds and some arcades etc. Plenty of family restaurants too. Although the weather wasn't great and it was too cold to go in the sea, it didn't stop us having a lot of fun swimming on the beach.

overall the resort is good with more than enough places to eat and drink however you need to be careful whe changing your english currency to euro as you don't always get what it states on the boards outside exchange shops.

boring place no bars or entertainment, unless your german and over 60. or you play golf. there was a entertainment centre for very young families with a fairground , bowling etc. but this wasnt for us with two teens who wanted nite life, so had to keep getting taxis to playa del ingles which is a big ugly place with no character at all. but plenty of nightlife but all too spread out. give us puerto rico any day.
