"concerned"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The Hotel itself, seemed very nice, reception staff very friendly, and accommodating on our arrival, sorting us out with ground floor accommodation. On arrival to our room, was very clean, quite spacious, and suited our needs. One of our rooms had a plug which was hanging off the wall with live wires showing. Obviously concerned due to children in the room. Reported and was eventually fixed. Holiday could then begin. Food was good, variety. The Holiday overall was Brill, entertainers very funny, especially the ones that could talk English. Some of them do need to remember that there are alot of English children/adults, who dont understand Spanish. This made the children feel a little left out, when everyone was talking in Spanish. Also at the Pool bar, I have never met such a Grumpy woman. She definately never liked the English people, as she made us all wait until all the Spanish people had been served before serving us. The longest waited there was 25 minutes. I even told my children to start pushing in and not to be polite, as otherwise they would not get anywhere. Even in the main bar sometimes, they would forget that we were stood there, or just totally ignore us. Not on really. Also the Dogs around the complex. Too many of them, i take my children on holiday to relax, but instead they were always on the lookout for dogs, especially the dog poo which we found on numerous occasions on the stones, outside our apartment. Not Good. The last thing was the maid service, I had to remind the staff that there were 4 of us in the room not 3, and that we didnt really want to share our towels, due to the heat!!!
Apart from the 4 main parts of my moan. Oh yeah Parasols need sorting out, definately not enough for all the people around the pool, then half of them are broken.
Now apart from all the above, enjoyed our holiday. Estelle and the crew were brill (except for the spanish speakers)!!!!! Johanne we thought was very funny!!!!
I feel that the hotel is the equivalent to an English Butlins!!!!!

"Value for money"
Overall Hotel Rating:
On arriving at these apartments we thought god what have we done. It was full of young spanish families who seemed to have taken over the place. They were very rude and loud. These apartments are used by the Spanish every weekend. The following weekend it was the Spanish equivalent of saga. Luckily they all left the next day and our holiday could really begin. What a lovely place to spend 7 days day all inclusive. Pool area is lovely with plenty of sun loungers , bar service and staff very friendly, reception area clean and receptionists very pleasant. Food in the restaurant is very good with plenty of choice, did get a bit repetitive, italian and mexican themed evenings were very nice. The apartments were small but cleaned daily, sheets changed 3 times and towels everyday. They are very basic if you are self catering. We were a party of 10 and some rooms were better equipt than others. There was only one person doing the entertainment, Estelle, she was very good, only been there a few weeks and just getting things ready for the summer season. There was boules, archery, table tennis, rifle shooting and darts during the day. In the evening there was always bingo, a quiz and a show of some sort. Just a warning if you are planning on going to these apartments. Alot of sports teams of varous nationalities go here to do there training. Although they weren't a problem there are large groups of young people wandering around all the time. Also, on a Tuesday the English ex. pats take over the bar area (how rude were they!!) so if the weather is bad and you want a quiet coffee in the bar forget it. All in all we had a lovely holiday, spent an extra week there due to being stranded by the volcanic ash and we were very well looked after.

"Laid back holiday"
Overall Hotel Rating:
clean hotel, friendly staff esp bar staff, spacious pool area though bad weather. only 2 disappointments... the food and the lack of good entertainment. To our surprise there was this singer Jon Silver who managed to turn our evening around. In the midst of the boring evenings, his was one unforgettable fun night. My daughter was waiting eagerly for him to return the following week. Albir turned out to be a relaxing up-market kinda town, but too small for 2 weeks. Benidorm was close by, bus stop right outside the hotel. Lots of excursions available and funpark and waterpark.

rooms are small but comfortable, pool area great 2 large pools and plenty of room and sunbeds, location for me was brill far enough out of benidorm not to be in the concrete jungle but only a bus ride or cheap taxi away from a mad night out. entertainment leaves a lot to be desired all except for the Michael Jackson Magician who is that bad it is hillarious.

"Albir Gardens review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
My partner and i went to albir garden apartments for a week. The day after we arrived we went down to the pool.. After a few hours we went back to the apartment to find our door open. The maids were in next door apartment.. When we went into our apartment - nothing had been done but 150 euros and a £20 note were gone from my partners wallet inside his trousers which were lying on the bed. We went to see the manager who didn`t seem to do anything so we phoned our rep Richard who was very helpful then we went to the police for a report from them.
I will never recommend albir garden apartments to anyone and i would never go back there!!!!
Albir itself was lovely and was only a 10 minute drive to bustling Benidorm.. fab beach there too..

Overall Hotel Rating:
The apartments were very small, no kettle and very basis utensils in the kitchen. Sitting room had a sofa, table and chairs and t.v. Bedroom had 2 beds, 2 bedside cabinets, large wardrobe with no draw space and no hangers. Everytime we switched on the hob it blew the fuses, told reception staff 3 times but it was not fixed. To be honest the place was like butlins abroad (not that there is anything wrong with butlins if you like that sort of thing, its just not for us) its a good 20 minute walk from beach. Good eateries are the dubliner. argentina steak house, lion bar and porters.
Would go to albir again but not to albir gardens.

"Albir Gardens review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Just back from a week at the Albir Gardens. Loved it!
The apartment was lovely and clean and not a insect in sight the whole week! There is air-conditioning, you have to pay a deposit of 20 euros to get the remote control but you get the full deposit back when you return the remote control. It was a bit of a pain having only 1 mirror in the apartment (may cause problems if there with teenage girls) but other than that no problems. Maid changed towels nearly every day and changed bed sheet twice. The gardens are lovely, lush and well maintained.
We weren't sure what to expect as we had never been all exclusive before but it turned out to be great value for money. The food was varied, good quality and plenty of it - too many tempting choices sometimes! There was food and drink available between 0800 hours and midnight every day and you could order pack lunches on 24 hours notice if you were going away for the day. We actually ordered them for the day we left as we would miss a mealtime and it would save buying food at the airport. We were very lazy and chilled on the balcony or by the pool most days. The pool area is clean and tidy with plenty of sunloungers available. There was entertainment laid on every evening but it was a bit cheesy - fun, but cheesy! Still the free drinks went down a treat and improved the entertainers performances! Had a day in Benidorm which was nice but very busy. Also walked along the promenade from Albir to Altea which is the next fishing village. There isn't a great deal to do in Albir but then again we weren't looking for daily activities so as a couple who just wanted a relaxing chilled-out break, we found it perfect.
Would highly recommend the Albir Gardens and Albir. Will definitely think about going back there again.

"Albir Gardens review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Thia was alast minute booking and i have got to say for the price we paid it was excellent value. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly, the food was of an average standard. The resort of Albir is fairly quiet, nightlife fairly lowkey but some really nice places to eat especially the various chinese in the resort. The beach is pebbly but you can hire sunbeds for a reasonable price and the views are stunning.Benidorm is only a few miles away and the bus service is very reliable,if you are out later than the bus service runs a taxi is about 10euros.I would say that Albir is more of a low key resort, perfect for a chilled out time but if you are looking for something more then Benidorm is just a short taxi or bus ride away.
I would reccomend this resort but not to those looking for a frenetic nightlife.

Overall Hotel Rating:
8 all in 4 adults 4 kids july 2006 for 14 days
will try and keep this basic as other reviews have already mentioned buses to benidorm and how much etc p.s its up to 1 euro now
Accomodation is basic ,we ate out every night so didnt use any of the kitchen equipment except for the fridge, recommend hiring the remote controle for the air con its 20 euro deposit but you get it back at the end of your stay, also you can hire a safety deposit box which is in the reception area, the complex itself is ideal,no building higher than 3 storeys great if you have young kidsThe pool area is brilliant situated in the middle of the complex, no problems getting sun loungers there is more than ample by the poolside , 3 pools all in , the baby pool is a great size and about noon gets really warm
the other 2 pools are great also , 1 you can touch the bottom in if you are not a great swimmer and the other is very deep at certain bits just check out the markings on the pool edges, 2 x lifeguards on duty at all times, one of the life guards does characatures in the evening down at the beach after his shift at the pool they are really good and cheap
no inflatables allowed in the pools but you are allowed to take in floats which you can buy for 2 euros in the chinese shop at the bottom of the road on the way to the beachentertainment in hotel was basic but really only caught the end of it each night as we were out everynight either in Albir/Altea/Benidorm
didnt eat in the hotel restaurant but it was busy everynight so the food must be ok
places to eat whilst out are The American Diner- left hand side of road on way to the beach, The Palmern - on the sea front
Hong Kong chinese - right hand side of the road to the beach [3 euros for a 3 course meal] kid you not
places to go- TERRA NATURRA is a must you can go round the animal attractions in the morning and hit the aqua park in the afternoon to cool down, for 10 euros you can even swim with the sharks or should i say snorkel- kids loved this
MUNDOMAR same idea although no waterpark but a great dolphin and sealion show
you can also get your pictures taken with them as well
went scuba diving 3hrs for 50 euros well worth it if you havent done it before
went with the owner Jose who took us out in the boat and dived with us
you can find his dive shop on the street next to the Kactus hotel down at the beach. its an experience not to be missed.try a trip to ALTEA lovely beach there or you can walk along the front from albir to it its a great walk.
dont really have any complaints at all about the holiday, unlike other reviews all staff in hotel friendly, no problems getting served ,no problems with pool, all in all a great holiday and would go back with no hesitations

"Albir Gardens review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Albir is a lovely place and just far enough from Benidorm.
Albir Gardens was a pleasant resort, there were not many English there when we were. A lot of Spanish, which wasn't a problem, we were in Spain and it was nice to see that the Spanish people holiday at Albir Gardens. The resort was obviously being promoted to the Spanish whilst we were there and the timeshare operators got on our nerves a little, even though they didn't bother us directly, we felt at times as though we were on show as prospective buyers were shown around the complex. They were there most days all day and in the evenings would take over the inside bar area. They were very interesting to watch though, as my holiday progressed I got quite intriged with them. Beat the entertainment some nights!! sad ehe!
The resort staff were friendly enough, just a couple of reception staff who could do with some customer service training!! Our Rep in resort, Lorraine, was very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. The Wild Wild West Night was a good night out and made a change.
The accomodation was fine, although we thought a little tight for 4 adults, but you don't go on holiday to stay in the apartment do you? The apartment did have air conditioning, we had to leave a 20euro deposit for a remote control for the air conditioning, which was returned when we handed back the remote on check out.
The pool area was lovely and there was always more sun loungers than people which was great as it meant you could go out in the morning and when you got back to the pool you could get a lounger no problem.
The entertainment was dissapointing, the staff were friendly enough but there was something missing and we weren't really encouraged to join in games during the day. There were professional acts including a parrot show, a comic/mime artist, someone taking off Michael Jackson and some singers but nothing special and the stage was too small. The entertainers themselves did cabaret nights but we just didn't get it!! perhaps it's the Spanish sense of humour!! However this said the guys playing the panpipes by the pool on Thursday mornings were lovely. More of this is needed.
There are some lovely restaurants in Albir and the Hong Kong chinese is a must, you can get a 3 course meal plus wine from 3 euros each!! We also enjoyed the home cooking of The Cavalier and the full English brekki and fish n chips just accross the road from the complex were great. We tried some Paella in a restaurant by the beach but felt we were ripped off, more pan than Paella!!
If the entertainment has bored you to tears then the walk to the beach is just right in the evenings, the shops are worth a look and the craft stalls too.
Near to the complex you have some good supermarkets where you can get anything you need if your self catering, as we were. Also a lovely bread shop, but be up early as she is not open all day.
The bus to Benidorm runs regularly from the stop outside the complex and it cost us one euro each to travel. Benidorm is okay with a lovely beach and lots of shops and bars. The Old Town in the evening with the street performers is worth seeing. However, I'm pleased we chose Albir Gardens rather than a hotel in Benidorm and despite all my moaning I probably would go back to Albir Gardens. :0)

rooms very basic but are in the process of updating as we speak,
food wide range good job coz it´s the same every day
reception a mixture of friendly and help ful and the you have attila the hun my god she was frightning
entertainment there are 7 or 8 entertainment staff but you would never guess you only saw one guy called steve doing everything from the mini disco to the daytime activities and then he would come back and do most of the scenes in the caberet.
albir is nice with a good mixture of spanish and international bars and cafes
we would definately go back here enjoy

"Albir Gardens review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Albir was a chance booking we made just at the last minute.
We have just returned home and thought we should let other people know what a fantastic holiday had by all.The place itself is not that big but plenty to see.We found the place very clean, many dust cart men pushing their trollys up and down.
The walk to the lighthouse is a must for the views, take a camera.
The beach of pebbly type which lets Albir down.
We found lots of food places to eat but the best we found was The American Diner, great food and great host's.Family run from yorkshire i think.
Nearby Benidorm is easy to reach by bus,but these can get packed so makes it awkward when you have young children but taxis are fairly cheap.Benidorm is a place you like or hate, but shopping good in the old town.Take plenty of water because the heat from the sun can catch you out.
We were going to hire a car but had second thoughts, driving looked abit fast and furious.
Oh and since we have come back we found website all about albir albirspain com so have alook for yourself.
we will be returning to Albir next year but we were not too impresed with albir Gardens so will try to look at an alternative

Overall Hotel Rating:
we went to benidorm end of sept, wouldnt advise anyone to go this time of year if your looking for hot beach weather, some days were quite hot but then others were cloudy and cold ,sat on beach shivering.
albir gardens was very nice pool clean but cold lovely surroundings entertainment was poor, very good if youre spanish and like opera where as we couldnt understand a word appartments were clean thats about all, hardly any utensills ,mini oven and grill didnt work, the ice boxes in fridge were that iced uo you couldnt close fridge , so you got up to a puddle on floor every morning, the two rings to cook on were rusty.no electric kettle just one you put on the ring to boil wich seemed to take forever,no toaster. benidorm itself was good plenty of shops to look in if you like shopping, and they were really cheap, food there was exellent but try to stick to english more value for money and the spanish waiters couldnt even break a smile.the yorkshire pride was the best place to eat,but if you want something a bit more special use the magic roundabout, its a little more expensive but its worth it.
we went to mundamar its like a wildlife park great dolphine show and you can have your photo taken with the dolphins and sealions.next to mundamar is aqualand what a waste of money cost a fortune to go in then they have the cheek to charge you for sitting on the sun beds, and for the big rings you need foor the rapids, wont be falling for that again.albir is about 3 mile from benidorm so its alittle quieter at night. it has its own little village with shops and bars verynice surroundings beach there was pebble.
would like to go back when weather is better but wouldnt stop at albir gardens again.

Overall Hotel Rating:
We have just returned from 14 days at Albir Garden. The first impressions of the hotel were outstanding.
We arrived late at night, but we were greated by a very friendly lady, who told us were our room was and about the hotel. We were on the second floor. When the lift door opened we were speachless. There was a beautifully lit corridor leading to our room.
The room itself was nice, clean and there was almost everything that you would need for your holiday (no can opener or cork screw) but if you ask you get them, they get stolen we were told.
The entertainment was great. The presenter is a English gent called Stephen. He makes you fell at home.
Our room was cleaned 8 times while we were there. The towels were changed every 3 days and the sheets twice a week. Which isn't bad for self catering.
All in all, we had a fantastic 2 weeks. There is everything that you need in the hotel, heated indoor pool, laurderette, 2 outdoor pools, childs splash pool.
I would definetely go back to Albir Garden.
This was our first self catering holiday
