What an excellent Hotel, location is on the beach road, feet from the sea, although it is a shingle beach not sand.The staff are extremely helpful and they even kept the restaurant open for us to have a meal as we arrived late. Rooms are very spacious and have a seating area as well as the beds, with a large bathroom also. during the time we were there which was only a short period unfortunately the guests ages were quite mature so this hotel is not for the young and noisy. Evening entertainment is a duo but we did also have a magician on the saturday night we were there. We were half board and the choice and quality of the food on offer was excellent.Overall the Hotel is spotless and has a superb position.

The resort itself is also spotless and not load and noisy like Benidorm, but there are still plenty of bars and restaurants to eat at. There is a Chinese restaurant opposite the reception of the hotel which served very good food at a reasonable price also there is a Rib bar just along the road a few yards(left as you come out onto the beach road)which was also very good.

Overall the Hotel and Resort we found to be excellent although a bit on the quieter side (which is what we liked) I would thoroughly recommend either.

Arrival at Kaktus Albir the reception staff were quite helpful, we had emailed the hotel prior to our arrival asking for a sunny quiet room , we produced our email copy and the manager came out to see us and we were given a lovely sunny room on the top floor, and the view of Albir Bay was superb.As this hotel had only been opened just under two years, it was very clean and spacious, we complained twice to reception that the air conditioning wasn't on and they told us it is not put on until June and we were there the last nine days of May.

The dining room was big and well furnished, but the first night we were there the food was appalling and we thought what have we let ourselves into having booked half board; the food did get better especially at the weekends when the Spanish arrived for a weekend break (I wonder why?). The restaurant staff were very helpful and cleared plates away as soon as you had finished, the head waiter was surly and it was an effort for him to do things for you, he was the only poor member of staff.

Albir itself is a very pleasant resort with a lovely promenade and shops and bars, they are just a short walk from the hotel, the beach was pebbly but you could find patches of shingle to put your sun bed on, we thought the position of the hotel was second to none it is a perfect resort for young families and the more mature couples.
