This is a fab hotel. We only went for four nights and I would probably only go back for this amount of days as Albir is a little too quiet for us. But it's great for a short, relaxing break which was what we wanted as our main holiday is in September. We were only bed and breakfast but what was on offer was excellent, even if there were a few strange items such as boiled broccoli! I've only rated the location as good as it was quite a walk to the beach but they offer a free shuttle bus during the main summer months. We didn't really have time to try the spa but it did look very good, if a little bit pricey. The outdoor pool was very good with a seperate kids pool and a jacuzzi and an excellent pool bar.Overall, an excellent hotel but one word of warning, the bar staff are very generous with the drink measures!!
Albir is a quiet resort, more for relaxing than partying but you can always go to Benidorm if you want something livelier as it's only ten to fifteen minutes down the road. Still there's plenty of nice restaurants and bars to have a quiet drink. Can't say I...

Kids entertainment was quite good during the day, night enterainment was not up to much, but we didnt mind that, we were shattered come night.

Have just returned for Hotel Albir Playa, Albir. We found this hotel to be of an excellent standard. The rooms are spotless, cleaned everyday with clean towels daily. The pool was a clean and had a lifeguard on duty daily and there is a playground for smaller kids with hotel run games for young and old.
There is also a gym and indoor pool although the weather was so good we didnt use it. The restaurant had plenty of choices and was always well presented. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The resort itself is fairly quiet but spotlessly clean compared to Benidorm. We visited both Terra Mitica and Terra Natura which are well worth a visit also the dolphin show at Mundamar was excellent.
We stayed at the hotel on a BandB basis and found an excellent Scottish bar/restaurant in the resort center called the Oasis Bar. Dot Dave and Lisa made our holiday.. Not only is the food all homemade (no frozen meals here!!)
but the bar was very reasonablly priced and immaculatly clean.(I'm sure this has the cleanest toilet in Spain) They catered for my choosy kids(and husband!) and since they only opened 3 weeks prior have attracted holiday makers and ex pats alike. A must to visit!!
Would definatley go back to Albir for Dot's lasagne if nothing else!!!

Just spent a week at the Albir Playa Hotel in Albir.
The hotel is really nice and is spotlessly clean. Our room was on the third floor overlooking the pool where we got the sun on the balcony in the evenings. Our balcony was bigger than most of the rooms because we were next to the fire escape stairway and didn't have a room adjoining us on that side. We were on a half board basis and although the breakfast was very good, we were a little disappointed with the dinner and felt the food could have been hotter.
If we went back we would go bed and breakfast as there are so many places to eat close by. It is very easy to get around, with the buses running very regularly at approximately every 10 minutes. It is worth going in to Altea either by bus or a leisurely walk along the prom which takes aprox 1 hour. It is worth the climb up to the church as the scenery is spectacular. There are some beautiful restaurants there and we had a meal at one called Stromboli where we ate outside on the lovely roof terrace. Benidorm is only about 5 kms from Albir and with the cheap and regular bus service it is easy to get there. One thing the hotel could improve on is to get more umbrellas around the pool as there are not nearly enough.
Albir nightlife is very low key but there are plenty of restaurants and places to have a quiet drink and Benidorm is close by if you want something more lively.

Not great for Kids in the hotel in less like ours they would enjoy the pool all day. On a night there is not much Life in Albir but its a nice peaceful Place with good food and great prices on drinks. we stayed half board, which i would'nt do again the food was very Spainsh lots of fish and things you have never seen before.but we went out a couple of times too, for a great chinese meal.
The hotel is very clean and Safe they only thing about the hotel is the lifts they have a mind of thier own and you can be waiting for up to 10 min for it to reach you, talk about slow ..... so we used the stairs abit (it helped with the waist line)
We got a hire car for the week but never really used it, we went out to a water park but it was not very good for children under 11 as they could'nt go on much, so dont bother if you have children below this age.
The Hotel did'nt have many Uk people staying in it, it was mostly Spainsh and a few german and french, only a couple of other UK famlies.
Well i would say we had a good time, oh before i go .. the showers in the hotel are GREAT you will have never been in such a shower, strong - fast - and very relaxing. Enjoy yourself if you go, we did.
