As soon as you walk through the doors the air con just hits you very nice seems temperature outside in its 30s.Walked up to reception which was very efficient and quick with the reception area being very clean and relaxing and spacious. There are 5 lifts two of which are outside see views of the pool area.Large bar area, lots of pool tables, games machines, two dart boards and a table tennis After getting our keys we were given room 1020,which was high up on floor 10 but until we got there we were not sure of which side of the hotel we would be on but to our pleasure we had a great view of looking right down on the pool, but if you had the front or sides of hotel you would probably have a view of building sights across the road.

The rooms are ok,we had three beds in ours, just enough room to get around,it had free air con,tv(but there was not much english channel chioce unless you like watching the news alot)and a sliding mirrored wardrobe, the bathroom was clean and had shower and bath sink toilet and beday, and was a good size. The rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh towels with friendly cleaning staff. Wow what can i say,the food was terrific, always piping hot and so much to choose from. You even have to wipe your hands in alcol cleaning gel before entering the food hall which i have not seen before. It has a big resturant plenty of tables for everyone with breakfast between 8.30 to 10.30 and evening meal between 6.30 and 9.30 so you have got plenty of time to decide when to go down. The waiters, cooks and dining staff work very hard and always maintain and top up food straight away when it runs out.

Just returned on 11th sept 2008 after 7 night stay. Hotel great location right on the market which is sundays and wednesdays. On arrival we were given room 4012 this was on ground floor which got no sunlight and had an odd smell.Reception said they could change our room the following day which they did. to o higher floor with appol view. Food was good with plenty variety, food very english and there was not chips every night "thank god" The only faults I have with the hotel is that there were a lot of spanish in hotel and some of them (not all) were very ill manored and if they could push past you they would and make disapproving noises if they couldnt get passed, we found this behaviour to be the topic of conversation amongst the english. There is plenty to see and do we went to Terra Natura animal park the number 1 bus will take you there for 1.20 euros. There is some good entertainers around in the nearby pubs. The old town is a must. There is also a really large and cheap supermarket ..come out of hotel dont cross the road but turn right its about 3 mins walk away.

This was the first time we stayed at the hotel pueblo and we read a few reviews and were a bit concerned .... but i have to say it was a suberb hotel with great pools and ample sun bathing space... the food was superb cooked fresh loads of variety and a very good standard.... there were no complaints at all ... the rooms were clean and a good standard with great air con ( highly recommended ) ... there is always a concern when u take kidz but there was no need to worry as the hotel catered for children well as they did for adults ...

all in all a great hotel and we will definatly go back again

Having been to Benidorm on more than a few occasions,I can safely say that the Pueblo pleasantly surprised us all.
Since the takeover by Servigroup Hotels the place has shot up the charts.
Food - excellent
Rooms - small but very clean
Staff - more than helpful
Location - bang in the middle.
Will certainly go back to this Hotel and thats a thing I seldom say or do.

Hotel Poor the reasons
Rooms very small (not big enough for one),balcony tiny with a nice veiw of the pitched roof, food leaves alot to be desired,if and when you win the fight to get a table The sunbeds are even more dificult to get hold of you go down at 8.00am you wont get a sunbed, most people just left towels out overnight.Nobody did anything about this problem
The entertainment boring and geared towards the Spanish most brits went out at night to the many clubs close by.Had it not been for the night life and the decent acts this holiday would have driven me crazy, a few acts to go and see when you visit Timeless,Crissy Rock, Aiden J Harvey
Shaun Connolly avoid Sticky Vicky. Very good steak restraunt as well facing Stardust club
It was nice to get home to get a sun tan their 5 days we had 4 hours sun

Restaurant staff: as good as Reception/Security staff, only often without a smile. Excellent quality and choice of food. Spainish customers did tend to congregate chatting and blocking off passage ways to the buffet area, preventing other customers from getting served as quick as they would have preffered.
Day time hours able to sunbathe most days. Make sure you have plenty of warm clothes if you intend walking outside at night during winter months. Although. Hotel bedroom heating system works very well!!!!
The main difference we noticed while walking around the area is that: gypsies no longer have their children in tow and only a few could be seen compared to summer months.
Pleased we did not take grandchild with us on this break due to balcony size. Possibly the only reason this Hotel is a 3 star and not a 4 star is the fact that: the Hotel Balconies are very small.
Hotel entertainment. if your forte is dancing, then plenty of dance activity provided.
However. My wife likes to play the odd game of bingo and this hotel provided the oddest game of bingo: No pens provided, so you have to punch holes in your card numbers with a tooth-pick and bingo wins are small bottles of spirits or soft cuddly toys. While just around the corner they not only provide pens but are playing cash bingo for win amounts of upto 449 euros.
Hotel exchange rate was 1.39 euros to the pound, while outside the exchange rate was generally 1.49 euros to the pound. Four building down from the Calypso Hotel the exchange rate shop was only 1.26 euros to the pound, although their outside board said 1.46 euros, this was not entirely correct and some customers were ripped off in my opinion.

All in all, a nice pleasant hotel to stay in and if you manage to get a top or low lever floor room, you will have less problems waiting for the lift to arrive empty.

Happy Holidays!!!!

The Hotel was clean quiet and efficient. The only time there was a lapse was when there were several bus loads of spanish people .We were on the 16th floor and had no trouble but people were complaining of noice from the spanish from the 4th floor down.
Restaurant.Food was good with a varied menu of salads and hot food you would expect.Trouble started when th spanish came for their meals and it was extremely noicey and you had to fight to get to the servery as they would insist on standing around talking, just like a cattle market.
Location was very good, close to all immedities and quite good bars and resaurants. We were in the main building so cant comment on the annex but did hear people complain about them.
Swuimming pool (indoor new)was quite hot the only thing was you had to come out in to the cold to get back to the hotel.
I would return if cheep as i do prefer self catering

Went on cruise and stay holiday with no choice of accomodation, except Hotel Pueblo, and went expecting Butlins!!!!
What a surprise! Excellent quality and choice of food, pleasant helpful staff, lovely pool area, not many children, so not much noise around!
As a regular visitor to Benidorm, going to the Spanish side to stay, (Centre/ Poniente), was not particularly looking forward to holiday, as friend wanted to go on cruise basically, but reckoned i could stand a week in the ";British"; end!
Still prefer the other end, but would definately recommend the Pueblo to anyone who has not been to Benidorm before.

Good location, high floor in main hotel prefered helps the lift situation! the higher the floor the more efficient the lifts are.

Plenty of free trips outside the hotel market and hotel. Teramitica theme park is a must 16 euros for senior citizens including transport from the rep.

Good holiday, excellent weather 30 max, food ok, Very clean hotel. Spanish staff need a course in manners and smiling.

I would recomend this hotel.

Just back from Pueblo Benidorm. Went on 5 Sept for 6 days with my 9 year old daughter. Cant complain about the hotel. Food was good, rooms were clean although they only gave me three towels for the two of us!! Rooms are quite small as are balconies and we were in the annexe of the Hotel and not the Hotel itself. Pools were good and clean but not enough sunbeds - the usual!! Excellent location though and although it was years since I had last been at Benidorm (approx. 15) not much had changed. Felt safe as it was just me and my daughter.

Would recommend this hotel and would return. Went with flyglobespan - no complaints with them either. All in all a good holiday.

I had read the reviews of others before I went and went with an open mind. This is my 10th time of going to Benidorm and have stayed in a few places but I can honestly say this was my best. When we arrived we were given the key to stay in a room in the annex. I went over before taking cases to see what it was like and it was very nice it didnt have a pool view but was very quiet and peacefull so I went back to my husband who was waiting in reception to see what i thought (because he knows how fussy I am) I asked reception if they had a pool view but didnt so I said we would take this room then when my husband saw the room he was happy.

As for the food breakfast was from 8 to 10 and dinner 8 to 10. The food was very nice a wide variety for all . Dont forget you are in Spain so they also have to cater for English as well as Spanish and any other nationality so you have to realise its not all fish and chips. The resort of Benidorm has so much to do you may not cover everything and will never be bored.

As i have said this is my 10th time and I have still not seen everything. The only downside of staying in the Pueblo and I expect any other hotel is not enough sunbeds, but if you get up early you will get 1 be there for 9 o'clock. Happy Holidays

This was our second visit to the Pueblo, having stayed there in 2003. We were a little apprehensive as the hotel is now under new ownership and we feared the hotel would not be as good as our last visit.

we should not have worried, the hotel is still first class, in fact the rooms are better than our last visit as they have been re-furbished and were of a very good standard.

The food is still really good with plenty of choice, just one thing. Dinner is supposed to finish at 9 30pm but by 9 everything is starting to be taken away and the choice becomes a little less at this time but overall the food is good with pleasent staff througout the hotel.

The pool areas are fantastic with 2 large outdoor pools, one with a kids section and also a recently added indoor pool also.

There are plenty of loungers but be aware that they do go quickly and you cannot access them until they are all unlocked around 9am, but if you are there at this time you will get loungers.

Entertainment is provided throughout the day in the form of water polo , shooting, pool competitions and so on and all join in including other nationalaties all of whom we found to be really friendly. There are a large number of spanish who now use this hotel, but do not be put off by this as everyone was very friendly and made an effort to be pleasent.

A small word of caution! whilst we were there a number of stag and hen parties were staying for up to 4 days and whilst they were very well behaved (including a party of 22 guys!!) there can be no gurantees that other parties would be as well behaved, but it certainly did not ruin our holiday one bit.

There is a kids club run by the hotel here and it was very good indeed with excellent surrondings for the kids with a completely closed in play area.

Evening entertainment is somewhat limited but this being Benidorm this is really no problem. The nightlife is still brash and noisy if you want it or quiet and more laid back, there really is something for everyone.

A visit to the old town is a must for quieter night life and check out the Rich Bitch show bar...a great drag act for 2 and a half hours at only 5 Euros...but be warned you have to book in advance as it is full most nights and shut on a Monday.

Also check out the local Tapas bars in the old town fantastic food and great atmosphere, try to speak a little spanish, it go's a long way with the locals!!!.

Benidorm is a really undervalued resort, it is the cleanest place I have visited with fanatastic entertainment and shops...DO NOT be put off by it's repuatation,as I said before there really is something for everyone..young, old or famlies....ENJOY!.

We will certainly be returning to Benidorm and to the Pueblo.

finnaly one gripe....the Thomson rep...we never saw her once apart from a so called welcome meeting which lasted all of 10minutes and consisted of the rep fumbling through her file trying to give us (patchy!) details of trips....rubbish.

There is no rep based at this hotel and if you have any issues you have to go to the Palm Court Hotel next door or contact the Thompsons office in the old town.

I guess this is a sign of changing travel with more people making their own arrangments but when you pay these people the least you expect is rep service...not even a rep on the coach to and from the airport....poor service but it did not detract from a first class holiday...our 4th time in Benidorm and we will return.

Good and bad points so here goes:

Primarily a Spanish hotel and unfortunately we have found that over the years the locals in Benidorm are not as friendly and polite as other areas of Spain. Spanish guests were always trying to 'jump the queue' - this included at check-in (where the rep just dumped us at reception and then left), at the bar, and in the restaurant. Hotel staff were either really nice or completely ignorant.

Although the food was OK, again they tended to cater for the Spanish mouth more than UK. Breakfasts were the usual plus fruit, cereal so no problems there. Lunch and Dinner were pretty similar with soup, hot meals, salads, fruit, ice cream and cakes etc. We found that if we dropped on 'Spanish days' there was really only chips and salad with possibly a grilled fish/meat if it was 'normal'(they seem to cook Hake every day).A couple of days they had cornish pasty/steak and kidney pie which was nice. Every day however the Spanish were filling their plates high with food clearly designed for their palate including: Paella, pigs trotters!, pickled dogfish!!,tripe!!!.
The hotel did however sell hot snacks at lunch for half board customers so we sometimes paid instead - and to be honest rarely ate in the evening at the hotel because it was the same as lunch - although both Sunday evening Beef lunches were really nice. Given the hotel location however, and snack bars/restaurants in Benidorm this did not spoil the holiday although we felt we paid for something we did not always receive but I suppose it depends how adventurous you are with food!

Pool(s) lovely - really large one for adults, then a separate kiddy one (and smaller baby one) which meant most children were not in the large pool which was great.

Entertainment great if you have kids - rubbish if you don't. The evening 'entertainment' consisted of kiddy games and the odd 'professionals' - but as they were catering for many Spanish and a few English it was juggling, acrobats!
THE worst thing however about the hotel was the room. The hotel has a main 'tower block' and then 5 annexes - we were place in an annex. The room was like a prison cell - tiny, only one plug, minimal wardrobe hanging space,a tiny balcony which JUST fitted on it two old plastic chairs looking directly to balconies on the next annex (which you could see into - so they could see into your room!), and you could hear absolutely everything - people above and to the sides of you talking, going to the toilet!, moving, and worst of all coming in on a night - this is because every hotel room door looks into the same echoing stairs/lobby? which is actually twice as big as the rooms!, and because the rooms are so small, you are sleeping feet away from the door!

As many guests complained there was no choice but to stay put as many had already moved to the main hotel - and we did not fancy being on the 15 floor, and more importantly re-packing to move again. We hardly slept for a week and had to buy ear plugs from the Chemist which then gave us ear infections! The above comments were echoed by most other guests and many felt this was the worst room they had stayed in. If it was not air-conditioned I would have reported the Hotel for cruelty to humans!

We had actually booked the Hotel Orange and at the last minute they told us they had double-booked and we had to move - given the timing there was little choice left and we would not have stayed at the Pueblo otherwise. This happened to quite a few other guests - apparently during Fiesta week (which it was), the Orange regularly over-book and expect guests to move to their sister hotel the Pueblo (who always seems to have spare rooms - I wonder why.......).
