"Terralta review by a mum,nan and 2 kids"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We went here at half term week in October - me , my mum and my 2 kids aged 10 and 7, and first impressions where OMG its in the middle of no-wher on the top of Mount Everest!! How ever, if you just want to have a relaxing holiday - round the pool, away from main town Benidorm then this is for you. We found that due to the poor euro then it is expensive to eat out (£26 for 4 in the hotel restaurant and that was only for 4 meals with chips and 4 drinks) unless you were prepared toget the bus outside that comes once or twice an hour. I am reasonably fit and it used to take me a good 10-15 minutes to get down the hill to the supermarket (which is loads cheaper than the one on site!)So if you are less than abled bodied then this is not for you and quite a way from main town Benedorm.

"Like a gian youth club"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Booked this hotel mainly on the reviews and location as wanted something in Benidorm but away from all the hustle and bustle. Well from some of the reviews on here I was expecting something spectacular but it was just like Pontins.
LOCATION
Located up a long winding hill on the Poniente side in a quiet residential area (well it was till they built this place). We always used taxis though so can't comment on the walk. It was about 8-9 euors to the McDonalds at the far end of the Levante beach or 5-6 euros to the start of the old town.
APARTMENT
Was cleanish, Could do with a lick of paint, dangerous bare wires behind TV, uncomfortable sofa beds, apart from that just ok. Air con worked well but on a timer so would go off in the middle of the night so you would wake up roasting.
POOL AREA
NIce pool area, plently of sun beds, although if you wanted one under the shade be sure to get up about 8.00am to put towels down. My Kids loved the pool, although I felt the pool was quite small for the size of the complex.
RESTAURANT AND BAR AREA
Didnt eat in the restaurant, although it looked busy with the people who never seemed to leave the place from dawn till dusk. Bar staff friendly but cannot cope with queues at happy hour.
The entertainment was abysmal, ok so you are in Benidorm but sometimes you might fancy staying in. The supernanny lookalike entertainment woman never tried to involve my children I think you had to be in her clique, got fed up with her voice by the end of the week. She has only got one cd that she plays on a loop night after night. They don't stick to the timings either, the kids disco didn't start till when she and her clique decided rather than the correct timing. They had a parrot show one night the poor things were surrounded by all these chavs and were squawking and in distress. The chavs were too drunk too care from the happy hour.
BAD POINTS
Like someone else my family were also put in a room by the play area and had to endure gangs of youths shouting, banging and screaming till the early morning while their parents got sozzled in the bar. The security staff just seemed to ignore all this, people were complaining all the time. The only ones who enjoyed themselves were the ingrates making all the noise.
We also had to pay 10 euros a day to use the car park underneath even though it was empty.
Useless manager who doesn't listen to complaints from nice people only the chavs who spend money in his bar. - This is going to be the downfall of this place as they are frightened of loosing business due to the obvious recession in Benidorm. Years ago they would have just slung these people out.

Just returned from two weeks at the Terralta, the standard of the accomadation, staff, cleanliness and pool were all exellent. The apartments are a short stroll down a hill to the old town ,but this does not cause a problem for a healthy family and should not put you off going,in my opinion it is an advantage- you do not have a high rise over looking you and shading the beautiful pool.If you do need a taxi it is 9euro from the new town and 8 euro from the old.

"Benidorm"
I have only been to mainland Spain once before, but we wanted a cheap break and the opprtunity to go to Benidorm presented itself. We spent the first 3 days wandering about exploring. There is a market in the new town on Sunday morning which is worth a look, but kepp a carefully eye on your purses and wallets as the whole of Benidorm seems to be a den of thieves. We encountered 2 couples that had been robbed in our week there, and to be homest it really has put me off from going back there in the near future. It didn't really spoil our week, but it was a wake up call on how we carried our belongings. We went to the Benidorm Palace to see the show and I can honestly recommend this show. It cost us 29 euros each to go and with that you got a free drink with the entrance ticket. Be mindful, though, that when you get in there are the usual photographers in there trying to relieve you of your cash, but remember that you are not obliged to buy anything. To sum up, I would say that Benidorm is like Blackpool but with (not guaranteed) better weather. I would go again, but certainly not in the near future.

"Cheap but not that cheerful"
Overall Hotel Rating:
This was our first time self-catering abroad. We usually go all-inclusive as it can work out cheaper for a couple, and is a lot less hassle. However, Thomas Cook offered such a good deal for the week, no under occupancy surcharge, we thought we would give it a go. The Terralta Apartments are located just outside of the Old Town, set well back from the main centre and high up the side of a hill. Booking in was fairly painless, not used to parting with a deposit though, and we found our room in the newly painted block quite easily. The room itself was fine but the view was not, facing onto an old folks home, with no sun on the balcony at all. We later asked to be moved, but the shrug of the shoulders and the long list of names before ours told us to make the most of what we had. In an effort to find a bit of sun we tried the roof which is astro-turfed and the pool, but it was just to windy. Getting a balcony with some sun would have improved our impressions no end, as it was we spent most of our time off-site. We had not been to Benidorm for five years, last time staying in the Flamingo Oasis (excellent), so did enjoy exploring the Spanish side of the resort more. We found the market in the Old Town a lot better the New Town Sunday market. This was reached by walking around the back of the complex, through some scrub land and heading towards the football ground. Overall we enjoyed ourselves more because we were forced out of the complex, rather than stopping nearby as we do with all-inclusive. It is also the one and probably only time I will return home without putting pounds and pounds of weight on, so that hill really came in handy for something.

Cant fault the accomadation very clean and staff friendly,I wouldnt recommend the place for people who have difficulty walking as it is on an hill but having said this it is only 15 mins walk to the old town and 4 euros in taxi there is also a bus outside the apts but it only runs every hour. All in all I would recommend these apts to anybody and we will definately be returning.

"terralta"

"Fun in the sun"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Recently returned from a two week stay at the Terralta Apartments. We had a two bedroomed apartment which was very clean and spacious. The kitchen was very well equiped. There was a double and twin bedroom both with fitted cupboards. The balcony was of average size and had drying facilities. The bathroom was a decent size. Beds and towels changed every second day. The staff were very friendly and they spoke english very well. They were extremely helpful. The onsite supermarket has mostly british brands, they even have a range of weight watchers products!!! there is also a supermarket down the hill and to the left (10 min walk approx) which is alot cheaper, approx half the price.
They pool area is great. There was always plenty of sunloungers when we were there, some in the shade. There is a small childrens pool and jacuzzi. The kids spent most of the time in the playpark which was basic but they enjoyed it. The kids club was great for the kids. It was on 6 mornings per week (free if you are travelling with Thomas Cook or 5 euros per child if you are not) and 4 afternoons per week, the afternoons cost approx 5 euros for everyone.
The apartments were away from the hustle and bustle of main Benidorm, but can be easily accessed by bus or taxi. The bus stop is outside the hotel and costs 1.20 euros per person. A taxi costs 7 euros approx.
We got the bus in to town most nights and got a taxi back. Would recommend The Leeds Arms for food. Very reasonable priced and the kids eat free and its proper british food!!! The food at the apartments was quite good although we only tried it on several occassions. The entertainment wasn't the best, very repetative although they did try their best!!!
I would defineately go back to these apartments and would highly recommend them.
Enjoy your stay at the Terralta Apartments if you decide to go

"Top notch apartments"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Excellent place to stay, felt very secure with card entry system, and what a pool!! NEGATIVES (not many) felt the prices at the bar were a bit high (small bottle vodka ice was 4 euros, happy hour between 9 & 10pm was 2 for price of 1) DO NOT have a pizza they are VERY poor!! we found this at restaurants as well i don't think they can make pizzas edible in spain, sorry!! If you want to go to the new town every night i would stay somewhere closer as its a long walk or you are paying for taxis every night. old town not too far away but that hill up to these apartments is a killer with an 8 year old on your shoulders!!

"August 2008. "
Overall Hotel Rating:
If you want the option to have a relatively quiet and civilised break in Benidorm then The Terralta Apartments are for you. They are set in a pleasant residential area up a small hill. As a result, you feel detatched from the hussle and bussle of the main town. We were a party of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. It was the busy summer holiday season but it didn't feel too crowded. Unfortunately there were plenty of English tourists prepared to fling a beach towel over a sunbed for 3 or 4 hours until they actually emerged to use them around the main pool. This was annoying but there were usually still a few spare sunbeds dotted around.... even if you had to go round the back of a block where there was a quiet, pleasant grassy area and a semi enclosed swimming pool. Thankfully, now and again, the management would come round and remove the unattended towels. If you want to sunbathe then it's worth hiring a sponge sunbed mattress, from reception, for about €5 per week. Our 1 bedroom apartment faced the main pool which was good. I believe that most, if not all, 1 bedroom apartments face this way. It was on the "ground" floor but was still raised 1.5 metres above the pool area so you didn't feel overlooked. The apartment itself had all the usual facilities including much needed air conditioning. The TV had several channels but for about €20 a week you could add 5 more.... BB1, ITV1, Channel 4, Sky Sports1 and Movies 24. There is a small, handy grocery shop on site but if you needed to do a proper weekly shop then I'd recommend the Commercial Centre. It costs about €8 each way by taxi and there are some large shops there. We chose to use the Carrefour Hypermarket which had everything that you could possibly need at reasonable prices. Alternatively, a 10 minute walk half way down the hill brings you to a small corner shop type supermarket with a limited supply of fresh food (fruit, veg, meat etc). There are 5 internet terminals near reception costing €1 per 20 minutes. (I'm writing this report at one of them). The bar/restaurant area is pleasant enough with the usual sub-standard entertainment but at least it isn't too loud or intrusive. Benidorm is just down the road for tacky shops, bars etc but it was always nice to know that The Terralta Apartments were there to provide you with some relative calm. I have stayed in better places but, for Benidorm, I'd be surpised if there is nicer accommodation than this for the price we paid.

Overall Hotel Rating:
gone to these apartments for last four years lovely pool ,staff great, peace on a night not like in the new town no sirens, mopeds, great . Best of both worlds if you want walk down the hill which is not that bad , go through the old town stopping off along the way in quaint little bars and tapas ,then head into new town if you want more action. love them.
