The resort of La Cala itself whilst small has a lovely beach which is swept and sifted every morning to keep it very clean, there are few shops and restaurants, Sole Mio Italian is very good with views over the beach. Whilst there is a fequent bus service we tended to walk everywhere although it is a climb to get out of the resort so it may not suit everyone.

We have just returned from a week at the La Cala Hotel and I could not fault anything we had often looked at the hotel and wondered what it would be like to stay there, we now know how good it is and will definately return, the only disappointment is that it closes for the winter so we will need to find another place to stay when we return in January. The rooms are modern and very clean and most overlook the beach, we not only had a balcony looking over the beach but also a window making the room very light and pleasant. The view over the beach was a bonus on 23 June when they had the Sant Joan festival hundreds of locals descend onto the beach to light bonfires and picnic with music into the small hours. Air conditioning helped make the room very comfortable, modern flat screen digital TV whilst all channels are in spanish, they had some decent digital raido stations. Breakfast may bot suit everyone, bread rolls, croissants etc but they were sufficient to get us going.

A lovely place to relax. Night life might be a bit better earlier in the year, if not Bendorme is not far away and full of life if you want more entertainment.

went in 2004 and going back this year (2008), as building work was going on last time and we want to see the end result. The beach is a lot quiter than Benidorme if you just like relaxing. We went in October so there wasnt many resturants and bars open, but the ones that were open were all of a very high standard. The chinese resurant near the beach is one of the best and i would highly recomend a visit. The acomadation was of high standard aswell. The local bus service to Benidorme was easy to use and it was cheap and only a ten minuite ride. Looking forward to this years hols.

Hotel La Cala, A small two star hotel right on the beach. Just been refurbished to a very high standard.Staff very polite and helpfull,only one speaks good english,Monica a very nice helpfull lady.Rooms, spotlessly clean!(ask for sea view)Only BandB but nice breakfast,bread rolls,buns,pastries,coffe etc.The room cost per night app E60.This was one of the best 2star hotels we have stayed in.

The resort itself is small with a bars and restaurants,no nightlife to speak of,but only 10minutes by bus to Benidorm,(85cents) The restaurant we liked the most,Ol So Mio just round the corner from the hotel also Simply the Best on the road out of la Cala.Quite a lot of building work going on,but it did not bother us.

The beach at La Cala is superb,and a lot less crowded then Benidorm.We had Easy Jet flights(no problems)and hired a car thru Holiday Autos,again no problems. Having the car allows you to explore and get off the beaten track,which is what we did.All in all a good holiday.The local tourist office at Cala Finistrat are very helpful and can give more information.
