Pineda / Calella De La Costa review
"Calella De La Costa "
resort to a friend
This resort only caters for teens in large gangs. Ther is no entertainment for people over 30 with the exception of BINGO!!!!!!! The food in the resteurants is very varied but none of it very special with all of it expensive served by waiters that smile alot especially when your paying your bill???. The resort was possibly very lovly some years ago but has been let to go to the ravishes of time and is in need of TLC.

This is by far the best Spanish resort I have ever stayed in.It still has a Spanish feel to it,not spoiled by to many English Pubs and German Beer Cellars.Small cobbled streets lead up to the fortified old part of town.It is worth the walk or jump on the small road train to the top of the fort (lighthouse and museum) for a beautiful view across the bay of Tossa where there is a small cafe to sit and get your breath back whilst enjoying the panoramic views.Plenty of restaurants ranging from 10 euros up to 25 euros per person for a 3 course meal including a large beer or half a litre of sangria.Good choice of boat trips from the beach including a water taxi ferry which calls at other resorts along the coast. This is a quiet resort, and not suitable for teenagers, mostly suited to older couples or families with young children who only need the beach.

Resort was not really what I thought it was. I imagined something like Benidorm but was very wrong! It was full of germans, spanish and french with very few brits - though not sure whether that is good or bad!! The beach did not look very appealing and the town was very small with a small selection of shops which were all of the same!

Extremely quiet resort.
Beach wasnt very nice and was quite gritty. The sea also had quite a steep drop and wasnt really suitable for children.

Pineda / Calella De La Costa review
"Resort"

Not much to do in the immediate area, but a pleasant stroll into Pineda, Calella is easy to get to by the Noddy train, 2.30 euros return. Beach was very rough on your feet, not nice sand and the sea quite rough with a deep shelve, would'nt recommend the beach at all. Barcelona about an hour on the train and well worth a visit.

Tossa it's self is lovely and it's not built up which is a good thing. The beach is clean, but not sandy, the view from the castle is beautiful. we were all inclusive but went out for a meal one nigh by the side of the castle walls it cost 16 euros each but was a lovely 3 course meal with a bottle of wine each. The prices in the bars were a little bit pricey but that's the euro at the minute. Tossa is for couples or family's it would suit anyone.

We got used to the train which passed our hotel about every half hour but Malgrat de Mar didn't live up to our expectations, there's no harbour or port. We had a trip to Blanes and Calella but they wer'e really run-down resorts and Calella smelled horrid. The weekly markets in Malgrat are good but i heard of several robberies whilst we were there. The best thing there was the fiesta one evening which was really exciting with fireworks and a bonfire on the beach. We made the most of it but we'd never go back to the Costa Brava.

Tossa De Mar review
"Tossa the Jewel in the Crown"
resort to a friend
Tossa is lovely. Beautiful beach with fabulous reataurants (expensive) within the castle walls. Little narrow streets of the old part more than make up for the non-discript new part. No night-life tho. So if you are looking for a restfull holiday, choose Tossa.

Playa De Pals review
"cypsela camping - playa de pals"
resort to a friend
the best place to eat was in the resort. it was one of the cheapest but then thats all down to the current rate!! beach was perfect, with life guards and no non sense attitude, very clean. not sure about night life as im past that!! (as have yound children) Lots of things to do. ON SITE: football, pools, mini golf, tennis, gym, hairdressers, arcades, free bus to the beach, disco, different entertainment in pool. etc.....
OUT AND ABOUT: shopping, beaches, castle/s, markets, nice drives .......
Lloret De Mar review
"probably more suited to youngsters"
resort to a friend
good resort on the whole, i think groups of youngsters under 25 will enjoy it most, due to the vast amounts of discos and pubs etc. however there are places that cater for families.

Lloret De Mar review
"Sand and sun in Lloret!"
resort to a friend
You can't go wrong with Lloret de Mar! The beaches have rough sand, so be warned before you try to go barefoot. Your feet will need some practice walking on the rough stuff! Beaches are exceptionally clean, and if you're into walking or hiking, you can find some real secluded beauties! The hotel Aquarium, where we stayed, is closer to Fenals beach, and is a 5-10 minute walk to Lloret centre. Fenals is quieter than Lloret, so the resort has something to offer for everyone.
