To be fair we didnt check it out before we went and therefore werent expecting blackpool with sun, if this is your kind of holiday i am sure you will enjoy. The beach is pebble so you dont have much choice but to hire a sunbed and brolly (12euros for 2) or to buy a blow up and brolly from local shop (about 4-8 euros for the bed and a brolly for 4-8euros)not bad if you are there for a week or 2. Previous reviews complain about the noise of the trains but although only 20metres away i have to say they didnt bother us and after first day you really dont notice, they stop running at 11pm anyway. Good choice restaurants but not many offering Tapas or traditional spanish food. supermarkets are everywhere with excellent prices for just about all food and drink. some nice bakeries. Easy to get to Barcelona on the train, about 1 hour 20min, runs every half hour (quarter past and quarter to) and only 6.40 euros return.

OverallGood Hotel

We were moved to the Amaraigua from the Esplai in Calella. This meant I hadn't read any reviews before our stay. I'm quite pleased because they probably would have put me off being moved but I'm glad we did. The Amaragiua couldn't be better situated - ri...
