This was our 4th visit and again we were not disappointed. Since our previous visit the hotle has installed an indoor pool (have to pay for that) and internet access-it was cheaper to E mail our friends than send postcards! The food in the hotel is very good, breakfast particularly. Rooms are very clean and comfy with towels changed when ever you wanted. It is not the cheapest hotel in the brochure but well worth the extra few euros. Only downside is the children who persist in using the jacuzzi like a paddling pool.

Otherwise an excellent holiday-we are booking now for next year.

We booked our flights with Flyglobespan from Glasgow to Barcelona. Excellent - nice planes, on time, no complaints - and cheap £87 each return. The hotel was booked with Holiday Beds Direct. Again excellent service and great price £32 per night per ROOM incl. breakfast. We got to the hotel from the airport by train. The airport has it's own station and Santa Sussana station is a 10min walk from the hotel. A taxi is 5Euro if you have lots of luggage. Trains run every half hour with one change. Trains are very efficient - go to RENFE website for info.

We were using Santa Sussana as a base for exploring Barcelona as hotels there are much more expensive. This turned out to be an excellent idea - Barcelona is only an hour away on the above mentioned train and only E5.70 return. It also meant we could take days out to relax at the hotel.

The hotel itself is very well maintained, nice pool, plenty of loungers (although this was quite early season) and in a very good location. Rooms were clean and comfy with nice bathroom, hairdryer and air conditioning. The breakfast was buffet style with enough cooked options to make up a full English. You could have continental as well plus tea, coffee, juice, etc.. We filled up here and didn't eat again until evening!

Not many other UK visitors, mainly Dutch and German, most of whom seemed to be of retirement age. There were a few more kids around at the weekend with locals heading for the coast.

The only (very) minor complaint was our room was tucked away in a corner so the balcony didn't enjoy the best aspect. We probably could have got a better one had we asked. Staff were very helpful.

Santa Susanna and it's neighbour to the North, Malgrat kind of merge. The Railway Station is at the South end - walk north 10 mins to the hotel up a wide walkway. This part of the resort is quite quiet with a few hotels. It's much busier on Tuesdays when they close the road and hold the weekly Market - plenty of bargains here. Walk from the hotel away from the station you pass though a more typical ";Costa Tacky"; area - Souvenir shops, ice cream parlours, etc.. The British ";Kareoke, Collesterol and Coronation Street"; bars are up a street off the main drag. Actually, it's not as bad as some resorts and the bars offer good value for money for an evening meal. Try Legends or Robin Hood. The Ship is handy; just opposite the hotel. The all do a half decent pint!!

Keep going North and you come to the older, more quaint part of Malgrat, which also has a train station.

All in all Santa Susanna is relatively quiet. The beach has course sand but is very clean.

As for Barcelona - it's Magnificent !!

We also took a trip to Blanes - the next stop up the line after Malgrat. Busier that Santa Susanna / Malgrat but again clean and tidy.

Overall, we had a brilliant holiday.

We thought this was a great holiday. The Hotel was lovely and incredibly clean. The food was great and a lot of choice. The pool was nice and big although quite cold at times! The staff and waiters were all very friendly and spoke fantastic english (unlike our spanish!)The rooms are spacious and all have good size balconys.

The entertainment was pretty boring for our age range but the older folks seemed to enjoy themselves!

We found that the entertainers were slightly pushy in asking you (or should I say telling you!) to do the activities. We sometimes got involved which was fun but other times we just wanted to relax which we found quite hard to do.

The resort itself was nice and clean but we didn't find that there was much around - all the same tacky shops and cafes. We thought there would be a few lively bars and restaurants around but there wasn't. However, there are a few english pubs called the Rovers return and Robin Hood which are about a 10 minute walk from the hotel which seem very popular. There is also a english pub just across the road called The Ship that does nice food and has all the football matches on. However we were very happy just to stay around our hotel at night and entertain ourselves!

The beach is nice but not much on it. Wear suitable shoes as well as the sand really hurts when you walk on it!!!

Overall we were very pleased with this holiday and will most probably go back next year.

This is a well maintained and clean hotel. Our room was not huge, but we had the biggest balcony in the hotel as we had asked for a high quiet room, we were on the top floor and overlooked the mountains which was perfect. The resturant was well run and served a variety of good quality food. The themed spanish dinner was delicious. The pool was inviteing with grassy areas to sunbathe on but there was not enough sunbeds and they were all reserved with towels by 9.00am despite this being against the pool rules.
The hotel is in an ideal position, set in santa susanna which is a clean modern resort with a lovely beach but only 15 minutes walk to Malgrat which is a little run down and tacky but fun.

I would recommend this hotel, great value for money.
