Tossa de Mar is a lovely atmospheric kittle town on the costa brava,i travelled there looking for a quiet break and i found it, forget every thing people have told you about this coast,i know i did; Lloret de Mar is'nt brash or brazen it is just laid back.It has a couple of lovely beaches,truly wonderful restuarants and nice people,it is catalonian and therefore has a wonderful individualism about it that i've not encountered in mainland Spain that i've holidayed in before.The town itself is lovely, particularly the old town with it's lovely old walls and buildings,it's full of fab places to eat and i must say the people i met were very friendly.Its also very easy to get around;it's small and everythinh is centered around the old town,i really thought that this side of spain would have been beyond my means this little gem retains most of its unique character; i wonder how long for ?

"Beautiful Tossa"

Tossa is a beautiful resort, think York by the sea, loads of little boutiques / cafes and a castle.
there didnt seem much for teens / young couples to do but for young families or older couples its ideal.
The beaches werent sand but my 2 children didnt mind.
would deff recomend Tossa u everyone

Warning this hotel and town is not a 18/30 place so for you youngsters who want to party, stop up all night, get drunk, make as much noise as possible,vomit on the stairways and then sleep all day this place is not for you so do not come here.It is a small sedate family hotel ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday. The sand was funny! it was like tiny pebels! he sand was so hot that you couldn;t walk on it for more than a couple of seconds ! We went 2 barcalona for a day with a trip. It was very nice! it was 40 degrees there.. It maintained around 34 - 38 degrees in tossa! There were lots of shop close to the hotel. It was like a giant market. There were loads of places to eat there. There were restraunts by the castle! Overall, the holiday was good, no nightclubs close so besically its a cheap beachy holiday!

"Tossa De Mar"
Overall Resort Rating:
Tossa is a quiet medieval town on the Costa Brava, a fantastic castle been its centre piece. The sand on the beech is not great but its fine for soaking up the rays on. regular boats rides take you up the spanish coast to Lloret and other resorts.

The hotel is 5 mins walk from the bus station, 15-20 mins walk from the beach and a very pleasant 10mins stroll to the resort centre. Beautiful but busy beach, lots of good shops, and good bars/restaurants

The hotel is 5 mins walk from the bus station, 15-20 mins walk from the beach and a very pleasant 10mins stroll to the resort centre.The bars were nice never visited the piano bar much but it had a relaxed atmosphere, the main bar was nice but the pillars got in the way. The little cottage style bar was my favourite as it was never too busy (apart from when Arsenal were playing! But even then there was 10-12 tables spare. This bar was again relaxed and calm. Never went to the nudist roof in peak hours but did when everyone was gone. Lovely Jacuzzi and lovely views over the hotel.

The beach was only about a 5 mins walk! It was a really nice beach !!! *warning* nude sunbathers!! Tossa De Mar is a a quaint village with a pretty beach and fort. Barcelona is only a 90 min bus journey away and there were many bars and restaurants offering reasonable (ish) priced food. The whole time is geared to tourists though and you are not likely to get a taste of the real Spain.
Tossa de Mar is a beautiful resort, the old town in particular is interesting with its winding streets and ample bars and cafes.

Really like it here, its not as hot as some places due to the location in Spain's far north so it is quite comfortable. The beach is nice. There are a lot of Scandinavians.

"Traditional Town"

This was a nice little town with a historic castle. The beach was a bit dissapointing, was clean but the sand is very stony and is unsuitable for small children as there is a steep slope as you get in the sea. Nice little market. Plenty of places to eat. There is a good connection to other towns via a boat that travels along the coast.

"The town of Tossa de Mar"
Overall Resort Rating:
As we did not eat out or go to any of the nightlife I cannot comment on them. The town is lovely with lots of shops. The walk up to and down from the castle is lovely but very steep and definitely not for the less abled. It is best not to do this walk during the hottest part of the day. It is a long way up to the top but well worth the climb. The views are lovely all around. The beach is lovely and suitable for younger children.
