Benalmadena seemed to be a clean resort, with sunbeds for hire on the beach. There were lots of your usual gift and 'tat' shops on the road along the beachfront. We visited the Salwo marina - this was a great day out even for the two 16 year olds with us. It would appeal to all ages from the very young to the Grandparents! As mentioned before, our hotel was an hours walk away from this resort, which was a litle unfortunate, as i'm sure it would have been lovely to spend more time in this resort.

We went with approx 10 family and friends and am really glad about this becaues the location of the hotel, although breathtaking views of the beach the location was very quiet and there really wasn't much to entertain us. The hotel entertainment was geared at the over 60's as this was probably the average age in the hotel. Directly oposite the hotel on the beach is a really lovely beach bar that you can very easily while away a couple of hours taking in the beautiful view. There were a couple of cafe style bars right next to the hotel but no entertainment at night. On our first night we went for a walk and ended up taking on 'cardiac hill' as the locals call it. This it seems is where most of the entertainment is. We ventured into The Elefante Bar and had a really good night with cabaret style entertainment. We didn't go up there again although if we had stayed longer probably would have got a taxi and tried some of the other bars. Opposite the hotel and to the left takes you (via a slope) to a lovely promenade style walkway with lots of seafood restaurants and small cafe bars. This was a lovely way to walk off your brekkie or dinner but didn't really have much going on in the way of entertainment. All in all it was a great hotel but the actual location for entertainment was dissapointing. I would not return simply for this reason. If you are planning a holiday there consider getting taxis to the livlier parts or pack a few good books to read on the beach. Freat hotel and resort to relax and chill out.
