Out and about was very good. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in all directions from the hotel, all in 10 minutes walk. Beach and premenade is only about 10 minutes walk away. Beach looked crowded, but we prefer to use the hotel pools. The promenade is great. One way takes you to some terrific fountains and another shopping area which looked quite classy. The other way took you to more shops and bars. There is certainly plenty of places to walk to in the evening and wear your dinner off.

When it comes to Salou I was surprised how much I actually liked it, I didnt know what to expect to be honest as this was our first holiday ever. There were 3 bars across from the hotel (robin hood, old brown cow & fox and the hound) the one I would really recommend is the robin hood, great food (especially the shepards pie) and great staff!! The black bull is also a nice pub for a quick bite to eat. We also drank in the ibrox bar and the rovers return during the week which was also two good pubs. The cafe right beside the ibrox bar does really good food including a great roll and sausage with black pudding(for us scots)!! The rovers return as the name suggests is a great english themed bar, during the day it was very quiet but really nice, the owner always asked us if we would like a movie put on for us which was really nice and the price of the drinks wasnt too bad either (just dont order cider anywhere in salou its about £4 a bottle, also the canned juices can be expensive like irn bru or pepsi at two euros per can, stick to draught) At night the rovers return was good fun, there were some kids games which even i found fun and I hate kids, plus there was a pop quiz, deal or no deal and a raffle. There were also beautiful restaurants along the sea front which I would recommend. We went to the Aquopolis in la pineda it was good but food was expensive and dont walk there it took us nearly an hour not realising that a bus takes you straight to it and it only takes 20 mins and costs 3 euros 50 for two singles. Only downside I found to Salou was: how the people try to hassle you into buying something in the stalls and that on the first few days my partner and I were offered drugs by someone pretending to work for the restaurants.

The resort was otherwise great , theme park great and fireworks amazing.Salou town centre is about a 10 to 15 min walk away, which has lots of shops that stay open til late and if you dont fancy the walk back a taxi will cost you about 4 to 5 euros.
The only bad things i would say is that it was quite expensive ther so take plenty of money. And also be aware of pick pockets if you go to any markets or Barcelona.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone with children as it is a very clean safe hotel and i cant wait to return there at a later date.

Beaches are very close by but we tended to stay by the pool. The kids did the trip to Barcelona which they really enjoyed and we had a fantastic day at the water park.Around the hotel there is plenty of choice its a prime location easy access to the beach, supermarkets and the main street cna be a bit noisy from the pubs. If your staying try the VIctoria, the 19th hole which is further up and also champions bar which was ace for the kids and parents.

Really liked Salou as a base, as it has a lovely beach and sea we could cool off in after a couple of days at the theme parks! It is also really near Reus airport, so no hassle when you get there

We would recommend taking the day trip to barcelona football ground, where you can explore on your own for 27 euros, they take you into the city centre for a couple of hours to do some shopping, its only an hour away, it was a brillaint day.
The weather was around 25 degrees each day, so it was still really hot and we came back with lovely tans. Salou its self is lovely, everything is so near this hotel, its in a brillant location. We would defiantly recommend this hotel and Salou.

As a young person Salou was just what i and my 16 year old friends were looking for to enjoy long nights out in the clubs and relaxing day times on the long stretch of sunny beach and a look around a huge variety of shops. The only dissappointing factor was that we went on holiday during the october half term so much of the nightlife was just closing for the season but we still managed to have seven amazing nights out and a lot of the beach front shops and restaurants were still open. We visited port aventura which is a great day out for people of all ages (if you like rides) and definately reccommended as we got the tickets very cheap buying them off a bar owner in salou. I reccomend Temple Bar and the nightclub Kiss located opposite where the nightlife is really friendly and good. Drinks are quite expensive though. There is a couple of handy supermarkets located around which are quite affordable and while in the day the local people are quite friendly i wouldn't reccomend going out alone at night time. Overall a really nice place to go especially as a teenager.

We came to the conclusion that Salou is the Spanish answer to Blackpool. It is full of tacky shops offering tacky souvenirs and cafes offering British food and sky football!! But .... it is a useful base and there is such a good local bus service that you can soon travel to Cambrils or Tarragona and these are delightful places. Of course we also went to Port Aventura and had a fun time. I would strongly advise buying the tickets before travelling. Currently the daily ticket is 43 euros and I bought a 14 day pass for the 2 of us in England for £118 so made a huge savingas we visited the park three times and then passed our tickets on. We also visited Montserrat, Sitges and Reus and liked these places as they have retained their own charm.

All round family town, specially Port Aventura, fine sand beaches and plenty on music bars and discotheques
Hire a car and go all inclusive as there is not many places to see close by, the bus service is also very good and its worth travelling to see the fishing boats coming into port with the catch.

We were unfortunate for weather so never got to make the most of the pool or beach but did day trips to Tarragona and Barcelona and to other towns along the coast so had plenty to see and do. I highly recommend making a stop in this area when traveling between Valencia and Barcelona along the coast.

OK, nice and near the airport but all the amenities are pretty much bog standard British chippies etc, its not really a cultural hub.
