A good resort with plenty to do to keep you occupied. The beach front area is the best that I have been to, the street is wide so the shops, bars and restraunts are close by but are not 'in your face', there are long avenues to stroll along, plenty of childrens play equipment and seating areas for watching the world go by. There are numerous bars and restraunts through-out the resort, although quite a few of these were still closed for the winter when we went in April, so you are never stuck for somewhere to eat or drink. I would encourage you to check the prices in these as they can vary quite considerably from one to the other. I suggest going to -Port Aventura- we bought our tickets from the hotel 44 euro for a 2 consecutive days ticket. - Barcelona - although you can go on organised trips to Barcelona to the football stadium, the magic fountains and La Rambla I reccommend going it alone! Buy a good guide book before you go, hop on the train at the Port Aventura or Salou stations ( 25 euros return for both of us) and explore the things you want to see at your own pace. The underground service is excellent, stops near all the major attractions and is very cheap I think the 10 journey ticket was about 6 euros. Trains run from Salou early each morning and the last train back gets you into Salou at about 10.30 at night.

We would recommend taking the day trip to barcelona football ground, where you can explore on your own for 27 euros, they take you into the city centre for a couple of hours to do some shopping, its only an hour away, it was a brillaint day.
The weather was around 25 degrees each day, so it was still really hot and we came back with lovely tans. Salou its self is lovely, everything is so near this hotel, its in a brillant location. We would defiantly recommend this hotel and Salou.

We were there on a Sunday evening and whole families were out promenading. Lovely atmosphere. Hotel is about 15 minutes walk to the Old city, well worth exploring and on Sunday morning there was a "table top" sale right outside the front entrance of the Cathedral - great fun. Lively Square in the Old City with plenty of bars and restaurants and a really good atmosphere, lots of young people, but absolutely no hassel. Hotel is situated over the bus station so easy access to surrounding areas. We took the bus to Reus as we were flying out from there, left our baggage at the Hotel Gaudi, and explored the town. Really nice, good shops, lovely buildings - a real gem!

Salou offers a wide range of things to do. Salou is especially popular for students within the first week or two of easter, so if you are not a student I'd suggest going towards the end of the easter term break or not at all. The beaches were lovely and clean, and there was a wide range of different clubs, bars and restaurants. The nightlife was very good, and Salou isn't far from Barcelona, or a large themepark for all ages.

A very lively resort - be prepared for this as it's not a relaxing place. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. Very busy in the summer but if you go off season it's better.

Miravet is still unspoilt by mass tourism. Go by car, across the little wooden car ferry that takes you across the river Ebro. Then a very short drive into the old village. Take a walk up through the village, and if you are wearing the right shoes, you can climb up to the Templars castle. Or you can drive up. Great views from the castle car park.

A mixed resort with a number of lively bars/restaurants, but also tucked away are a number of quieter locations, mainly used by ex-pats who were very welcoming.
Very clean place and you don't get pestered by pavement traders as much as you do in other resorts.

Salou review
"Port Aventura - the kids will love it"
resort to a friend
Nice clean resort, nice beach, plenty shops, bars, restaurants etc. Can be a bit noisy at night in the centre, if you have kids, thats why I would recommend this hotel. Port Aventura is a big attraction, the kids LOVED Woody Woodpecker!!!

I would highly recommend staying in Salou.. We saw some other good hotels there to.. So if this one was fully booked dont panic :) Walking distance to the beach.. If you didnt want to walk im sure it would be very cheap in a taxi but Im not to certain on the price as I walked most days. The beaches were average when it comes to cleanlines just the odd cup or wrapper on the beahc that people can not be botherd to pick up.. Fantastic waves on beach.. Great for kids. Due to the Euro.. Some of the food and drink were quite highly priced.. but you dont have to eat out everyday if you go all inclusive.. So if you have some extra cash there are plenty of places to try.. And they are quite nice too. Didnt go to one bar or restaurant with bad service. night life is decent... We walked to a place most nice very suitable for adults and kids. Had trampolines and a ball pit for the kids and for the adults were nighly entertainment and a bar and music all outdoors. FANTASTIC food especially the bacon and cheese paninis.. Hmm.. So much to do Id defonatly reutrn.

Lovely golden beaches safe swimming, plenty of watersports. Trips to medieval quarter or portaventura theme park give choice for all. Good choice of restaurants and pubs if you get tired of hotel food. Children friendly in most places. Good shopping.
