Like a previous reviewer. We also found the man with the pink glasses rude. Drink expensive and the food in the resturant was the same most nights. Most food seemed to be recycled from the night before. Repair service excellant. Top tip for H10 would to revamp the resturant and the food.

The hotel is very nice, but lacks in area's you have to get up very early to get a Sunbed near the pools or anywhere else, it states that no sunbeds can be reserved but at 9am all have got towels on and only a very few people on them. We had to bathe on the roof-top which says adults only but people took kids up there so the hotel does not keep to its own rules, but worst of all we had to que morning & evening for the restrant and the guy with the pink glasses was very rude to people he made the dinning room not a very happy place it felt like a school dinner hall, and he was the headmaster. Everything else was very good

Travelled April 2009. Short transfer from airport about 25 mins to cap salou. Hotel is sited on a slight hill. Not alot of shops or bars in cap salou so if your not half board limited choice within walking distance. Supermarket in hotel block, 2ltr coke 2 euro, can san miguel 1.75. Two supermarkets close by outside complex and 1 bar on main road.

Breakfast in hotel was excellent, full english, cereals, fruit, etc. Evening meal had a limited choice, prob worst i ever seen. Food itself ok, chips with everthing. Wine with meal about 14 euro bottle.

large bar area with lcd tvs, pint 270, coke 245, also bar with snacks around top pool. Other pub on complex opened at 8. looked ok but most nights was empty. Early season yet!

Main beach about 10 min walk away, small beach about 5 min walk but down a very steep slope. Salou main town about 30 min hilly walk away.

Buses or holiday land train stop outside hotel. about 40 min to port aventura, goes via salou. fares 2 euro for all on bus, train 3 euro kids half .

Overall good family hotel, but i would prob try la pineda next time. Weather in April was also poor.

First time holiday in Spain, couldn't have chosen a better place, hotel was excellent, room spotless, and air conditioning if you wanted it, maid cleaned every day and was very friendly. Bus stop outside the hotel and all buses ran frequently. Fabulous big balcony on top floor, unfortunately the air conditioning fans on the top of the roofs ran all the time which kept my husband awake, I on the other hand did not notice the humming sound. Shop on the site was quite expensive as was the shops in Cap Salou for groceries and the drinks in the hotel were quite pricey. Otherwise I would give the hotel a rating of 11 out of 10 and would definately go back to H10.

"Great holiday"

Just returned from our third holiday at this hotel and all i can say is that the mediteranean village just gets better every holiday. The service we received from the staff at the hotel was faultless and they were there to help you whenever you needed, the only critisism we had was that the maids did not empty our bins as regular as we would have liked however other people from the other blocks did say that there's were done daily. The pool area was always clean as were the pools as well and there was always enough loungers for everyone at all times of the day so getting up early to put towels out on them was'nt nesassary. The entertainment team was there mainly for the younger kids so as ours are now in their teens we did'nt need to hang around in the evenings for the shows which was no bad thing considering the high price's for drinks in the hotel. The supermarket in the hotel was always well stocked although a little pricey but there are enough shops around the vacinity if you want shop around. The Reps were very good and full of local knowledge and were always there when they said they would be. Well done H10 Mediteranean Village.

"Young Family At Med Village,Cap Salou"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Very Good

Just back from 14 nights at the Med Village in Cap Salou where we were self catering. We arrived at around 11am, and has been previously stated on this site we were not allowed access to our room until 2pm,however this was not a problem as we were given a room to keep our cases in and there was plenty of toilet facilities within the complex to freshen up. We spent the time looking around the complex which was immaculate and clean and had something to eat before getting into our room. WE WERE TOLD AT THE RECEPTION THAT WE HAD TO PAY A 60 EURO DEPOSIT ON THE ROOM WHICH WE WOULD GET ON OUR DEPARTURE.

The ROOM, which was for 2 adults and 2 children was small but was enough room for our family as we were rarely in it for any length of time. Our room overlooked the upper pool of the 2 in the complex and there was no noise at night. Within the room was a digital safe which you load with your own code.

The ENTERTAINMENT was good at times for our family, but after a fortnight of hearing YMCA and the Cheeky Girl song I hope I never hear them again!! The boy tribute band were the best by a mile. You were not allowed to drink anything unless it was bought from the bar area which was rather expensive.

There is 3 POOLS within the complex. a kids pool and a larger pool on the lower level and another bigger pool on the upper half. Both are clean and well kept by staff. They are seen cleaning the area each night and prior to the pools opening in the morning.

Our only issue with this apartment/hotel complex was that due to a problem with the sunbeds they were locked at night. At 9am each morning they were unlocked by staff. You might think this was fair, however each morning between 8am and 9am British people, not Germans, got up and placed their towels on the area of the pool that they wanted and waited on the staff to unlock the sunbeds. They would then put their towel on the sunbed and then disappear for hours on end with the sunbed not getting used. The sad thing is that there appears to be nothing that the staff can do!!

Just returned from H10 Medittaranean Village in Cap Salou. This hotel would in my opinion only merit 2 star. I have made a list of pros and cons for this complex and you can draw your own conclusion. 1.You can not gain access to your room on arrival until 2.00 p.m. and then you possibly may have to wait an additional half hour in a queue for your key. 2. Unless you are lucky to get a pool view, the outlook from the balcony is terrible. Our view was of a rubbish tip. 3. The balcony itself is very large, yet the furniture consisted of one small table and two chairs. All were filthy 4. The apartment sleeps four to five adults, yet there was only cupboard space in the bedroom. 5. The kitchen is tiny and the facilities and storage sparse. 6. The sheets were changed once a week, but the floors were never washed in the fortnight we were there. 7. The corners and hidden areas were filthy 8. Pool - usual scramble for sun beds at 9.00 a.m. with people booking their spots from about 8.00. No shelter spots in the pool area at all. CROWDED. The sun beds were dirty and many broken. 9. The pool bar had a limited menu and was very pricey 10 The shop in the complex was very very expensive (one round the corner is reasonable) 11. Entertainment at night was poor 12. Security on desk, my son asked for the key for the room and was told he was not 18 and did not hand out the key to him. He asked another lad who was 18 to ask for the key and they handed it out, yet this person was not associated with our company at all.... makes you think 13. Theft at the complex - my son had is mobile phone stolen the night before we left. Another young couple had their camera, credit cards and money stolen from the side of the pool. Another woman had her bag stolen in the bar at night. Those were the ones I heard of during one week period. 14. Location. Cap Salou is a quiet village with lovely small beaches, but it is very hilly . To travel to Salou it cost for the four of us an average of 20euros per night. To summarise. I definitely will not return to this hotel.

Just arrived back from Med Village and had a pretty good time. The Hotel was spotlessly clean, beds changed every other day, towels daily. Sunbeds a bit of a problem as although there are plenty, there is no room to put them! Kids club a bit of a joke unless your kids are under 5 years old. Food definately not that of a 4 star hotel - every thing only luke warm at best and pretty dried up. We ate out 5 nights during our two weeks. Unfortunatley we experienced the worst storm seen in over 25 years with huge hailstones, wind and thunder and lightning. Hotel got flooded but staff dealt well.

Would not go back due to sunbed situation, food and location.

"Fantastic Family Holiday"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Very Good

Open quote

Just got back from a fantastic family holiday in Cap Salou. The H10 Mediterranean Village was everything and more. The hotel was clean, the food good and the staff friendly. The entertainment staff were the best ever. They really loved their jobs and were brilliant with the kids of all ages. Not much to do in Cap Salou but Salou is only a 10 min bus ride away and they are very regular (or you can get the train which the kids loved). Portaventura theme park was really good but try and go at tea time and stay until midnight (peak season only) as you won't have to queue very long for rides and you will get to see the fireworks. We also bought our tickets in the UK (7 day pass for the price of 3 day pass) and this was cheaper than buying when you get there. Salou in general has got very expensive (over €10 for 25 nappies which is £8.70)but that could just be cause the £1 is so bad at the moment!! There is a small fairground in Cap Salou but the people who own it or run it are the most miserable bunch you have ever met. They charge €2 for a kids ride on the motorbikes, boats or a 5 min go on the trampoline. They grab your kids arms and pull them off the boat ride, it is unbelievable. Anyway, you did not need to go out of the hotel as the entertainment both day and night was really good. Well done to Nancy, Sebastian, Adrian, Anneka and all the crew whose names I can't spell due to my ignorance! A really enjoyable holiday for all the family especially if you have kids.

Went to this hotel 12/05/08 for a week half board, had read previous reviews and knew that it would be good,Well they were right, what a fabulous place clean modern and can only find one fault THE SUNBEDS why do people want to get up so eary and want to put their towels on it is MADNESS i certinaly think the hotel should address this. The weather was not good as we had our twin grandsons with us it was a godsend as they were entertained throughout the bad weather. The childrens team are brill with the kids not only through the day but on the nighttime as well, they really invlove them in everything. The food was very good and there was a very good selection for adults and kids.Rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed as well (you have to leave them in the bath)Top marks to all at this hotel and to the kids team especially to NANCY and SEBASTION I would go again and recommend this to friends. The shows that were there at the time were very good and worth seeing.Anyone booked into this hotel and not sure do not worry you will have a great time and home from home

"Lovely Hotel"

This hotel is in Cap Salou, 20 min walk from Salou. It is a nice walk along the front, but I suppose as it gets warmer, it may feel a little like hard work. But, the regular bus service is excellent and therefore you can get to Salou within 5 mins. The hotel is lovely, very good for families, having 2 outside pools and an indoor pool with jacuzzi and sauna. Did not utilise the restaurant or bar area, but from what I could see there was plenty of activities for the children. Our apartment was nice - a one bedroom - I do wish though, that they have more facilities for cooking as 2 rings for bacon, eggs, beans & tea does leave me getting hotter than I wished for. Cap Salou is ok, has a few restaurants and bars, so it would be wiser to go into Salou for further choice.

Had a geat time
Just back from 2 weeks half board and what a great place it was, lots of entertainment and kids clubs, kids were happy. Lovely staff clean towels changed and beds made every day what more could you want.
Food excellent I have stayed at half board places before and food wasnt good here at med village great variety even a kids buffet.

You have to get the bus or a taxi to salou or la pineda although we walked and found this very pleasant to do along the beach front didnt take long 30 mins max.

two faults with the place and thats when you arrive you dont get in your room till 2pm and you have to get up early if you want a sunbed around the pool as they fight over them very childish indeed but never mind get a grip although staff have signs up saying not to reserve the beds the staff should throw there beach towels in the pool then that would stop it.

I would rate this hotel 10/10 and very ideal for families especially with young children

went to the mediterainian village after not being abroad for 3 years due to a bad holiday and all i can say is we will be going back to here again possibly the best holiday as a family i have been to
went self catering for 2 weeks arrived late at night and given a welcome pack including milk tea bags biscuits had a few concerns with the swipe card and air con at 1st but the staff fixed it straight away
some lovely english restraunts in nearby cap salu and regualr visits to the porta aventura theme park is a must as you canott do everything in 1 visit would suggest going after 4pm to avoid big ques and watch the shows as well very entertaining
barcalona zoo is a must and the city visit

ovely large pools but the sunbed sittuation is the only downside as you have to be up earlyto get 1 some people getting u at 7am and waiting till 9am till they are unlocked
the real plus side is the night entertainment which was supperb both there own entertainment and the ones brough in i have nver laughed so much at the own shows put on with danni, rocco, nicolle and colatchi deserving a lot of credit and all so friendly and always someting to do for kids all ages ie football, rifle shooting, ust some things to mention all free

we will be going back thats for sure and would recomend it very highly

Just back from cap salou on the 15th july, the hotel was clean and the rooms were adequate. The maid was very niceand came to our room every day.

As for the entertainment(if thats what you want to call it) it was chronic,If you call adults battering each other with inflatable toys and shouting and screaming at each other entertainment then it was great. The pool was great but the sun bed situation was a joke,we were self catering but tried the hotel food 1 night it was just as bad as the entertainment. We went into salou every day and found a good indian called masala to eat in.Portaventura was good but the kids got bored with it into the second week.

Won't be rushing back, hadn't been to spain in 5 years now i remember why,i'll be sticking to america and dubai.
