Overall a great place to stay. we are a family of 4 Mom DaD and kids boy and girl 12 & 9 yrs.The room was small for 4 people but never the less it is only used to sleep and get changed with a great sea view. The only problem i ever get with spain is if you get there before 12 mid day the room will not be ready when you have travelled all night and not slept for 24 hours this can be irritating. So having arrived at the hotel at 10.20 am we waited with out moaning and groaning, until 12. So i then asked is our room ready the Rude recepionist said no it will be ready soon, any after waiting for about an hour i went up to the room myself, room 337 it was locked so i asked the cleaner if it was ready, she said it had been ready since 10.00am, so i went back down to reception and asked if our room was ready She said NO i said the cleaner told me it had been ready for the last 3hrs then they phoned the cleaner up and she confirmed the room was ready. The reception blamed the cleaner for not phoning them but surley when we arrived they should have phoned the cleaner to see if it was ready. A really bad start to a spanish holiday again but after that everthing was great FOOD, HOTEL, LOCATION, RESORT FANTASTIC ENJOY IF YOU GO THERE, BUT BE WARNED OF BREAK DOWN OF COMMUNCATION FROM THE RECEPTION.
Salou is a great place for young and old and would definately go again, The best costa we have been to, and we have been to all of them ENJOY

Arriving at the hotel after a 4 hour delay with Thomas Cook Airlines was a relief! When checking in at reception, the gentleman said he had kept the restaurant open until 2am but had to close it then, which was fair enuff and we were not in the mood for eating- just for sleep!
Well the rooms were a good enough size for 2 people, althoug our beds were on wheels, which was strange and odd as your bed would be in a different place in the morning compared to when u went to sleep. The only thing i can say was missing from the rooms was a fridge to keep drinks cool, so we could only buy them as and when we needed a drink. The maids were in the rooms every day, were very friendly and the cheeriest members of staff even though in my opnion they have the toughest job, which they done very well.
Reception staff were ok, some were nicer than others, same goes for the bar staff, although the staff in the restaurant were very friendly, always had a smile on their face despite working from before 8am when breakfast started until dinner finished at half 9 at night, this not including setting up and cleaning before and after breakfast and dinner - they must have been knackered!! This leads me onto the food, we were half board, the breakfasts were what you would usually expect (well mostly) as there were curly fries offered! at the end of the second week, i couldnt be bothered eating the breakfast as it was too repetitive. The same goes for dinner, they had pork about 12 out of the 14 nights, which i dont like, they also had chips every night, but most other things varied. The food was eadable and kept warm but again was very repetitive.
The hotel has three pools, one kiddies, one general one, and another tucked at the side of the hotel for games such as water polo. Pool and surrounding area was cleaned everyday, and there was always plenty of room for everyone, which surprised me as it does look quite small for the number of people staying! The entertainment wasn't great to be honest, there were 4 entertainers, who i must say were good with the children, but the shows weren't very good, and most of the entertainment was carried out in Spanish.
The hotel is in a decent location, although was at the top of a large hill and some distance from the main centre, but the bus stop is right outside the hotel which was very handy!
Overall this was a nice hotel, a nice place (excluding the rude and arrogant people) and would recomend it :-)

Just back from two weeks at the Playa Park. Enjoyed the hotel with just a couple of small complaints. The food was ok and always hot, but by the second week it was a bit repetitive. Maids were in every day and the rooms were spotless, but a little cramped, we had a problem with ants on one day but it was sorted within the hour. The bar service was really good and the pools were kept clean, I wish hotels would ban smoking next to pools tho, its disgusting when people don't use ashstrays. The entertainment wasn't really of a high standard. The location of this hotel has good and bad points, bad in that its a bit of a hike up from the main streets and the turning left from the main door you are walking down what I thought was one of the dirtiest streets i've seen. The good point is that you are close to an excellent and clean beach. Overall i'd say the hotel was good to very good, salou itself is a no go for me tho. Forgot to mention the excellent bus service just outside the hotel.
Very disappointed in Salou, with the main issue for me being cleanliness. The street outside our hotel was nothing short of disgusting. Salou for pubs is ok, a good few football bars, The Ibrox and Shanklys being two good ones. Entertainment wise there didn...

Lovely hotel, reception area quite impressive, polite staff who speak English! Rooms - standard Spanish hotel room with en-suite, not much storage space though for clothes.Cleaned everyday and towels replaced, maids were very friendly. Even had BBC TV channels which were a bonus on the rainy days! Drinks in the hotel bar are quite pricey so look out for happy hour every afternoon! The food was very good with plenty of choice and it was always hot and the staff were always bringing out fresh food. The only criticism is that the tables in the dining room are very close together and the staff who show you to a table always put you right next to another table! Also the drinks are pricey. The pool is quite small with not many sun loungers and in peak season it would be packed with people. All in all Playa Park is a great hotel and I would recommend it. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay
Weather in May was hit and miss - rainy then sunny - very unpredicatable.
Salou is very expensive due to the strong Euro and we spent a fortune. Lots of people standing outside restaurants to force you to go in them!

Location is good, 5 min walk to the Beach & 5 min walk to the main trag. Hotel is on a little hill so would advice to take a push chair if you have young childern with you.
We did not try the nightlife as we had our kids with us.
