APARTMENTS- what can i say the apartments were fab!! very spacious tv,microwave, full size fridge freezer etc one of the best apartments weve had and we go abroad 4 times a year!
POOL- not as good as looks in the brochure for some reason the pool was green instead of blue and didnt look too inviting some guests threw in some dead fish for a prank and was closed then for a few days.Would be lovely with a bit of time and cleaning though
BEACH- lovely beaches nice soft sand can be dirty in the sea in places though we did find a patch which was full of rubish and sanitary towels so we didnt go in the sea there but moved to another part further up that was lovely. The promenade stretches from one end of salou to the other and is gorgeous covered in fountains and lights.there are kids parks on the beach every couple of mins walk right up the prom.
RESORT- Very good but must admit is quite expensive dearer than benidorm for beer and food. we tended to eat in all the holiday apart from the first night which we got a small gammon and egg meal and was sommat like £7 each which is dearer than at home! and once ate in a chinese in the new town which we had a banquet for 3 for about £7 each not including drinks but was EXCELLENT!!! so didnt mind.
the weather was fab for october we had one day of rain but was sunny and hot the other 6 days. Theres loads to do in salou, the apartments are in the old part about 10 mins to the promenade and then 15 down into the centre of salou. Many pubs ,restaurants, shops etc but is a nice stroll not too far!
if ya have kids then salou park is nice with couple rides/roundabouts etc and a park.BUT DONT MISS PORT AVENTURA.
PORT AVENTURA-fab!!! lots of kids rides/shows etc we went in october so everything was halloween based the shows etc my 4 yr old loved it. not a patch on the American theme parks but definately if u have kids its the place for a GOOD day out.
OVERALL THE PALAS APARTMENTS WERE FAB,AND SALOU WAS VERY GOOD.STILL CANT BEAT TURKEY FOR THE POLITENESS OF PEOPLE AND CHEAPNESS BUT WOULD RETURN AGAIN TO SALOU AND DEFINATELY TO THESE APARTMENTS!!!

We weren't sure what to expect as we had booked this holiday last minute and didnt pay much. Our coach driver seemed to drive miles and miles away from everybody else's hotel to get to ours, we knew it was in the old town but didnt realise how far that was!! Then once arriving the hotel was so small we couldnt even see which one was ours! We asked the coach driver and he said 'you get a taxi!' thankfully he was only joking! We waited for about half an hour in reception because the receptionist had gone to lunch! Luckily our rep Lisa came over say say hello and was telling us all the places to go.
We were amazed when we eventually got to our room, it was huge!!!! We had 2 double bedrooms, a kitchen, a lounge with a massive dining table and the biggest balcony you have seen in your life! There was only us 2 in it! The hotel is emmaculate, we werent expecting much because we hadnt paid much so this was luxury for us! About half an hour later, the receptionist came to check we were ok, bless him! The staff there are all very friendly even at 6am in the morning when we got back after a nite out! The only thing which didnt work was the air conditioning but even though it was about 30 degrees, our room was so big it never got hot.
The first nite we decided to walk into the new town, big mistake! About half an hour later and with very sore feet, we arrived at in the new town! We got taxi's for the rest of the week which were very cheap but the taxi drivers are a bit dodgy, we cought one taking pictures of us on his mobile fone and sending them to his mates! We woulndt recommend getting a taxi on your own!
The next day we went to the welcome meeting with Lisa, she is crazy!!! Although there was mostly older people and families in the hotel, she was great and knew all the best places for us to go and get drunk! We decided to go on the reps bar crawl which was hilarious! and the reps nite at Gloria's Ranch which was all you can drink! and we certainly did!
We didnt like the look of the pool in the hotel (it was green!!) so we decided to go sunbathing on the beach instead. The beach in salou is absolutely gorgeous! We were down there everyday, the sunbeds are cheap and it was packed until about 7pm every nite!
If you go to Salou you should definately go to Port Aventura, it is great but the queues are huge! we didnt get a fasttrack ticket which allows you to get to the front of the q but we wish we did! We queued for about an hour for some rides including the Hurrican Condor which is the new enormous drop ride!! It was so scary!
The only problem with the hotel is that there was no bar or meeting places so we rarely ever saw anybody else who was staying there! Also it is a long way from the nightlife so if if you want a quiet holiday then its perfect but if like us you want a more lively holiday then we would recommend staying in the new town. You also have to pay 100 euros deposit for you room when you arrive which we got back no problem when we left but was a bit annoying as we ran out of money before the end of the week!

Hi we visited these apartments the first week of May. Having checked out this site first I have to say that the accomodation was Beautiful. Very clean and with all you need for home comforts. Although tv was all in spanish ! Kids not to chuffed about this but then we never really stayed in long enough to watch it. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was huge and accomodate us all no probs. The staff within the apartments were very helpfull and very infomative.
The Pool was pretty useless though for us as our youngest kids are not to confident and it really was too deep for them also it had to be cleaned on the first day we got there, however this was done promptly and without any fuss. There is absolutly no entertainment or facilites on site. We did go to Cheers across the road and the staff there were so nice and accomodating they even gave the kids tons of chocolate!!!!!
Salou itself is a bit of a mixed up place , where these apartments are is very spanish and we liked that because after walking along the nice beach you hit ";Blackpool Tack"; Found this a bit naff but then you dont have to go there.
We visited Port Aventura that was fab!!!! Everyone even gran had a ball and we ve got the photos to prove it. Went to Barcelona MAGNIFICENT!! and Torrajevo which was really nice but a bit too much like going into town on a saturday.
All in all we had a great holiday because we ventured out every day. Not like the people who sat at the";pool"; every day drinking and being total moans about allmost everything that moved. I would recommend these apartments.

We very pleased with the Palas Aparments, The rooms were very big. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, with each room having space to walk around the double bed (1st room) and the 2 single beds (2nd room). The living room, and bathroom were also a good size and the kitchen was ";off"; the living room with sliding french doors. The kitchen was fitted with fridge/freezer, cooker microwave. If you want a toaster or kettle, you will need to hire them. We made do with boiling water in a pot for our tea but we did hire the toaster for at a cost of 15 euros for the week (5 euros refundable). On arrival you will also be asked for a breakages deposit of 100 euros or 70-80 pounds if you prefer. This is refunded on your departure (supposing you did not damage anything).
The spanish lady receptionist called pera is excellent, she speaks very good english and understands everything you say to her. The number of apartments is about 22, half overlook the pool and half overlook the main road. On arrival we would have had the road side, but i asked pera if we could change, which is agreed. I would recommend the pool side as it is quieter at night, and if you have kids my age i could keep an eye on them when they are in the pool.
I went to the reps welcome meeting, and got the usual sales pitch for the organised trips. I won't knock the trips as did not go on any. However if you decide to go to barcelona there is an alternative to paying £40 to £50 per person for the rep trip, and that is to go yourself on the train from salou. The train service is reliable and very cheap. The cost for RETURN tickets for Salou-Barcelona-Salou is 10.2 euros for an adult, and 6.8 euros for a child up to 12 years old. The journey takes about 1 hour 20 mins. Pera the receptionist will provide you details as to which of the 3 barcelona stations are closest to the nou camp stadium, the zoo and Goudie cathedrial.
As mentioned on previous reviews the apartments are on the spanish side of salou (side closest to cambrils). At the bottom of the road, the promanade starts, and would stretch for about a 20 min walk to the middle of salou. This area has mainly british type pubs. At the right hand side of salou (side closest to pinada) I thought that it looked a dump, with graffeti and an overall unkept look. Those thinking about Pinada or cap Salou don't worry as this area is a good distance away. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the road. The buses will take you anywere within salou of 1.15 euros, including port aventura.
we returned from the palas salou apartments they are really fab, very spacious washing machine microwave etc you do have to hire a kettle when we were there there was none left to hire had to use a pan but thats ok

pool area ok we had to ask laura the rep to get it cleaned twice and my little girl could not use the baby pool because it was rank! pool area could do with some repair a little dangerous. davids dad tripped over it twice!
the receptionist is really nice and so is the night porter the pub over the road has a really annoying toy car that makes loadz of noise about 0630 in the morning so that is a little annoying.
salou as a resort is ok plenty to see and do aquapolis waterpark in la pineda is the best water park better than cost caribe port aventura is amazing a really good day out. you should also go karting that is wicked too.
we really enjoyed bus stop, 007 and food is great in the black beauty and robin hood bar la pineda is a great place for haggling for footie tops me,david and my little girl got 3 real madrid tops (proper ones) for 70.00 euros total davids dad did have there heads battered like haggling but it had to be done!
transfers were not good coming home had to wait 4 hours in the blazing sun for the coach to turn up and we had to be out the room for10am did not get picked up until 1700 night mare.
for those with little kids like us there is a great soft play area up from the hotel past the intermarche which tires them out so lucky for us davids mam and dad babysat so me and david could hit the town snoopys is the best night club but those spanish need to learn how to dance ha ha
overall a fab holiday definitly stay in these apartments again
adios
