I believe these apartments are all privately owned but available through certain hotel booking websites. We booked with TravelRepublic. Apartments are very spacious - 2 bedroomed/2 bathroom. Fully fitted kitchen including washing machine which was extremely handy. Big balconies on both sides of the apartment which meant both caught the sun at some point during the day. Lovely pool - warmest I have ever been in (at any time of the day). Grassed area for sunbathing -no sunbeds which I thought was going to be a problem but was in fact much nicer as you had more freedom to move around. Nice quiet area but within easy reach of amenities. 10 minutes walk to the beach. Plenty of bars/restaurants/supermarkets within 5/10 minutes walk. 15 walk to Port Aventura. Only downside was pick up of apartment keys which is right over the otherside of Salou - 30 minute walk or cab ride. Keys need to be dropped back there as well for return of deposit. Would very much recommend The Harp for food - small restaurant which can get hot inside but fabulous food and a warm welcome from the lovely young couple running the place. Salou is a very large resort. Take the small train buses around just to see the extent of it. I think there were about 4/5 different routes (all of which went to Port Aventura). Approx €3 per trip. Port Aventura definetly worth a visit if you have kids or teenagers. Cheaper after 7pm.

Ok this accomodation was lovely newly build appartment son lovely well kept grounds still some building work going on but nothing to much, it has a gym, jacuzzi etc really nice, but they are rule daft, kids cannot take little inflatable boats etc into pool, nor were they allowed to do silly things like throw each other into pool playfully. you cannot sunbath topless as you get told off (for almost anything)
With the accomodation being new they dont have a working reception as yet which we were not advised off so when we arrived we were standing around with no one to greet us etc and had no keys, i had to call company and they told me to get a taxi to another hotel to collect them sure it was called catalunya gardens, i had to pay 10 euro for the taxi trip, becuase of all the confusion we ended up stand around for over two hours waiting for this info and to get keys which is not much fun when you have a bunch of starving kids with you, so make sure you get info of where to collect keys.
The rooms do not get cleaned, we got clean towels once but it does have a washing machine with a drier so you can wash them and hang them out as you do get a clothes stand as well.
The kitchen is great big fridge freezer, lovely oven and hob. not alot of pots of cups etc though but we had two appartments and the other one did have pots frying pan cups and a micro as well.
The apts are huge we had a two bedroom one which has an un suite bathroom and a shower room and the lover floors get two large patio areas one and back and one at front so you get sun all day long the upper appats had biggest longest balcony i have ever seen on holiday.
We had transfers booked for us through the travel company and it was called Hoppa, dont use them when we arrived at airport we were left sitting about for hour and half waiting for bus to arrive once it did we were left sitting on it for another hours waiting on next flight to come in so they did not have to do two trips, when getting picked up to go home they were an hour late so once again left sitting around with a bunch of kids which was truely terrible, i blame the hoiday company i used for all the probs and will be complaining about them MEDINLAND.
If this is your accom dont worry they are stunning but no entertainment, we just went across to the dorada p-alce which was an excellent hotel very helpful even though we were not staying in there hotle and we sat in thier bar and watched thier entertainment.
One of the girls on reception was brill and i will be sending a thank you card o her what a star, i think if i go back i will go stay at that hotel.
hope this is of some help and hope you enjoy your holiday
