This was to be a short pre Christmas break in the sunshine. Unfortunately, it turned out to be an endurance test. We were not expecting a five star experience on the cheap, however, we did expect to be at least able to eat something from a buffet on an al...

"Caleta de fuste"

Car hire is inexpensive, fuel was 75c a litre, 20 euros took us all over for a week. We have already booked to go back to these apartments for two weeks next year. We have been to Tenerife and Gran Canaria but prefer Caleta De Fuste.

A typical modern resort - has avoided high rise and is much better for that with very pleasant beaches albeit man made with some good places to eat around the beach. The main drawback is no old town or tradition to the resort and the commercial centres are full of "all day english Breakfast" and "Sky sports and soaps shown here" places. Not what I want when I am abroad. Some pleasant coastal walks where you can see the "chipmonks" (Ground Squirrels)

Its a small resort with a small harbour as its main attraction, not a lot of shops so shoppers beware and the usual mix of bars and restaurants. The main beach I didn't like I would take the time to walk to the man made beaches outside the Shearaton and beyond these are much nicer, if you do you will find a modern shopping center not huge but has a nice Spar supermarket located inside.Golfers are well catered for as there is a golf course in the resort. The resort sits under the flight path of incoming aircraft so this may bother some but noise and disturbance by aircraft is minimal the airport is not open 24hrs so aircraft through the night is nil, expect your first in the morning around 06:30hrs are thereabouts.
