Just arrived home from 2 weeks here, 5 in our party altogether myself, my wife, our son his partner and our daughter. On arrival at the Hotel (approx 40 minute transfer from airport)we were very impressed with the standard and the layout and could tell right away that this was every bit a 4 star hotel. My wife and I and Son and Partner had opted to upgrade to Family Rooms (booked with First Choice) and these were situated on the First floor with pool views, rooms were spotless large Queen size double bed and sofa (no tea or coffee facility in any rooms but a kettle is available for approx 2 euros a day)Bathrooms were every bit as impressive good size bath shower 2 sinks toilet and bidet. My Daughter was booked in a standard room for sole occupancy, again she had a pool view and the room was almost identical to our upgrades just slightly smaller without the sofa. The restaurant is on the ground floor together with the Pools and sun terrace, we were half board so had breakfast and Dinner included the food is fabulous and although menus are repeated on a weekly basis this was not an issue and we all came home at least a stone heavier.

Fun to watch, the sun bed half marathon! the pool and terrace are closed at night and you are not allowed on to the sunbeds until the barriers are lifted at 9am in the morning, it was funny to watch every one starting to form a queue at the barriers from 8.45am waiting and then all charging out to bag their favourite spot. No need for you to do this though as they were always plenty of sunbeds available at any time of day. Corralejo is a nice town and the main strip leads all the way to the old town and harbour a nice walk and worth looking around, the main strip is of course mainly gift shops and chinese restaurants and bars, but the clothes shops are really good with a variety of surfing brand fashions available.

If you want a night out then the rock cafe with live bands is the place to go we ended up in their almost every night, and for a meal out the slow boat 2 chinese in the plaza was really nice. Take the trip over to lanzarote, and if you dont mind a 2 hour coach trip Jandia is well worth a visit as well.I would rate this as one of the best holidays and hotels we ever stayed in, I would recommend it mainly for couples and families with younger children, I think teenagers may find it a bit boring. Finally remember this is Fuerventura and it is the windy island so beach days out are great but be prepared for the wind and this means that red flags on the beaches can be frequent which means that you are not allowed to enter the water. At the hotel around the pool because it is sheltered you dont feel the wind at all.

Look no further than this hotel if you are going to Corralejo. It is probably the cleanest and most friendly hotel we have stayed at on all of our travels.

Right from the moment we arrived the staff were extremely friendly and helpful including a porter to take the luggage to your room.

The hotel allows you to charge drinks, snacks etc. to your room for settlement when leaving, and this is a great help when it means you do not have to keep carrying cash around with you all the time.

The restaurant was extremely clean, and even on ";busy"; mealtimes there seemed to be plenty of room both around the tables and at the serving areas. Meals were very varied and I would be most surprised if there was someone out there who could not find something to satisfy them from the retaurant menu.

There is also a fully stocked bar in the room which again can be settled at the end of the holiday.

There are one or two small beach areas within Corralejo itself, but the main bathing areas are a few minutes drive out of town at the sand dunes. Depending on where you are in the resort, it could be about a twenty minute walk to the dunes, but this hotel had a courtesy bus running twice in the morning for guests.

The harbour area is quite pleasant although by no means picturesque, with several small bars/restaurants offering fresh fish on the menu.

There are one or two British ";hustlers"; on the main street imploring you to go into their bars, but all in all, there is a very relaxed feel to the resort. At no time did we feel threatened in any way as we have done in some resorts in the past.

All in all, a very pleasant holiday, even if the weather was not particularly brilliant.

Our 4th visit to this fantasic hotel and we can only say that its a pity there is not a higher rating than excellent. From the moment we arrived the staff where polite and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. We were lucky to be given a family room, the extra space was great when there are only two of you staying there.

The hotel food was as per usual excellent, even as vegetarians we found plenty to eat and never left the restaurant hungry, the fact that when you return home you have put on weight is proof of this!
Facilities at the hotel are luxurious, the health facility is free to use and is a great way to relax after a day at the beach. Pool areas are always clean with a pleasant atmosphere when you are around them. The usual people put their towels out early but the vast majority dont bother with this silly habit.
We spent most days at the beach. Its a wonderful beach, mainly naturist but with a really pleasant atmosphere.
The town centre was again very quiet, however we had some great nights out.The staff in the bars are really friendly and not money grabbing and at no point did we ever feel obliged to stay in any particular bar for longer than we wanted to.

All in all a great week, stunning weather for January and really relaxing. Corralejo is a great place for a holiday if you prefer the quieter life, its not for everyone and sadly not all hotels on the Island are like this one, if they where perhaps more people would visit this lovely Island
