The yumbo centre is def. worth a visit. a real bustling centre at night, lots of shopping to be done and lots of bars and restaurants. A real eye opener as it is a Gay centre and therefore there is alot of drag artists etc.. but alot of fun to be had there! a fab night.The resort of playa del ingles is more suited to young ones we didnt find many family bars.... a couple we did find are WEMBLY's and MACKERS.... they catered for kids and had quizzes bingo and fun and games in the evenings. We did go out to the Kasbah Centre in the evening and have a couple of good nights but i felt very uncomfortable with a baby out late at night as there was lots of clubs and young ones around. Playa del ingles beach is lovely, if you goto the left side of the beach when you use to beach lift this is more family orientated and if you have a pram then there is not alot of sand to deal with to get your buggy onto the beach... a tip in my opinion is to buy your own beach brollie ( about 7 euro's ) and a couple of beach mats and head down to the front of the beach and set up camp there. much cheaper and much more baby friendly as the sand doesnt get everywhere and all over you.

The resort itself is small and fairly upmarket, some fantastic shoe and handbag shops! There are also numerous fantastic restaurants, we did not have a bad meal there and found it to be very reasonable pricewise.The shops in the local area are more Gucci than bucket & spade. There are many designer shops as the area is more upmarket than a usual tourist haunt. The streets are very clean and the area feels very safe, even at night.

For golden sands, walk to Maspalomas, head for the lighthouse.

Avoid the Thomson Blanket Trip at all costs - a total waste of a day’s holiday! Sioux City is excellent. Be wary of the public buses - crazy drivers going too fast round narrow mountain roads with sheer drops into the ocean (think Italian Job)! Taxis are the way to travel - extremely cheap.

Seriously considering returning next year - we loved it!

The resort is nice, but for things to do i went away from the resort. For families with kids the resort is in my opinion very nice.

excellent resort for families couples,and singles. lond sand beach Spectacular sand dunes best suited for those looking for somewhere in Gran Canaria to simply chill out and relax. There's a excellent range of restaurants in both maspalomas and playa del ingles

good value,superb weather,freindly people,nice beaches,top island. expensive for private activities,water park,trips,themed nights etc In 2 weeks we had some top food at great value prices. Clean in the main areas,although some areas run down and need a good clean and refurb. Sea clean and great for swimming and snorkling.The coastal walkways around Puerto Rica are superb,modern and safe.

Great location, lots of bars and restaurants to chose from. Nice beach. Loads of shops. Great for young couple and groups of friends.

We had both been to PUerto Rico before but Lara Nido Appartments ARE NOT in PUerto Rico as advertised! They are situated a few miles above the Amadores Beach. If you want to go to Puerto rico be prepared to take taxis.

There is a small commercial centre in the area but it has limited facilities.

Very Quiet, but friendly. Lovely surrounding areas, but need transport, The road is too dangerous to walk on.

Resort was brilliant. A horseshoe shaped bay which was edged with restaurants and little shops. Beach was crushed shells and a bit sore onthe feet until reaching the sea. There was some inflatables in the water at one side for the kids (payable) and the water was glorious although freezing. Very pretty.

The walk to the local shop is about 15 mins which is mostly uphill!! but its got most things you need. del ingles for bars/restaurants etc but it's only about 5 euros in a taxi anyway. Maspolomas is also close by and you can see the sand dunes from the hotel...the view is lovely. It didn't really matter that San Augustin was so quiet anyway because as it's All inclusive you don't need bars/restaurants.

Marbella Golf Bungalows are close to the resort of Maspalomas offer excellent views of the famous sand dunes. There are numerous shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife all within easy walking distance, which is ideal to save on taxis.

The hotel is 5 mins walk to the beach and to the beautiful pine walk where there are loads of lovely bars and restaurants when you want to leave the hotel. The bus station is 15 mins walk with regular services to Pollensa town, Alcudia, Palma and Inca.

Playa del ingles is gorgeous as well, I am telling you, you can't go wrong on this holiday you might have a day or gloomy clouds and an odd touch of rain but that's the worst that you'll get and it's still pleasant and warm and there’s loads to do there, even if you just go for a walk, watch the sunrise, sit outside, have an ice cream, its lovely there. I strongly recommend that you eat at Le Bolera, it is only a ten minute walk away from the hotel, it might be a bit pricy but it will make your holiday seem worth while and so good that it's one of the good points you think of instantly when you write a review on here when you get back.

The night life was very quiet but it wasnt high season, despite this we had a fab time in the europa centre which is about a 2 minute walk we found the best bars were xTREEEMZ & Cocktail Shaker aka LA COCTELERA at the cocktail shaker the staff are so friendly and fantastic and very helpful if you have any doubts about anything, also the food is beautiful especially bolognaise pizza they are to die for for all pizza fans these are the best !!!!! XTREEEMZ is extremelly funny and a good laugh they do a fancy dress every friday and have there own website www.xtreeemz.com its afamily bar too if you have any kids. the resort overall is brilliant we was a young group of friends of 6 but 3 of us have children and would definately take our children there couldnt tell you what the staff are like as we didnt speak to them except to order taxis.

Lively resort especially in the evening . Plenty of good places to eat and drink at a reasonable price. Shopping limited . A lot of places where entry free and entertainment provided. Yumbo centre at night is the centre of the Gay community ,a place to avoid if you are out with a young family.
