The location was beautiful and there were loads of things to do. The prices were reasonable and the food in the restaurants was very delicious. I cannot wait for our return trip there.

We liked Maspalomas. Weather was glorious for most of the month we were there, nice and warm and sunny. There are plenty of places to go to, and some nice walks along and around the coast. Plenty of vendors selling English papers too, and bars with the Englist TV!

Everything is easy to access and as far as beaches go the maspalomas sand dunes are fantastic. We walked approx 4 miles along the sand dunes and trust me i dont tend to walk anywhere but i really enjoyed the experience and cant wait to do it again.

Playa Del Ingles review
"Full of nightlife"
resort to a friend
I came here with my boyfriend and our friends, we had a fantastic time. The nightlife was great, the drinks were very reasonably priced, with most bars and clubs doing 'buy one get one free' along with a shot. A great place for anybody wanting to have a party holday. There are also a lot of lovely restaurants, overlooking the beach and offering amazing meals.

Very lively resort, would definitely recommend. Beach very nice too but the sand can get unbareably hot. I would not recommend walking across the sand dunes, you feel like you are in the desert and your feet get burned. The water park is a nice day out, and i would recommend the foam party. very messy!

This is the hotel for you if you want to have a quiet relaxing romantic week, strolling around the nearby port and taking it easy walking around unspoilt small pretty houses and the canals (hence the name "Little Venice"). Not a disco in sight so not for teens/lively Brits. But good to catch up on reading! Only busy time in town is market day (Friday) so avoid. Both hotel and village is most suitable/friendly for those with mobility problems: very flat and no stairs (lifts in hotel). Pretty village/port to sit, relax and people watch! Lots of plants and interesting features.

My food experience wasn't great but my husband who is less fussy than me seemed ok. We had several good nights out (despite my being hungry!) as we were around 10 mins walk from any of the 'centres' where the bars and clubs are. Going in Feb the resort wasn't as busy as I imagine it would be in peak season so most of the clubs were shut but some of the bars were fairly busy and found a gem in the Gran Chapperalle called 'Wembley's' in which we had one of our best ever holiday nights out.

Having booked a cheap last minute deal in Gran Canaria last week, we were approached by an English salesman whilst on the promenade who talked us into a free trip to the Anfi resort, on the pretence that we would be able to go to the zoo for free after a quick tour around the complex as way of a thank you. We thought we might as well as the tickets were worth 80 Euros. We went, we got battered with the sales pitch for 4 hours, we got brain washed and finally decided to part with £10300 hard earned pounds for a bi-annual time share (we came to our senses very quickly and cancelled the following day luckily or would have had to pay 220 per night otherwise). Here's what we found and what made me get out of there double quick... Firstly, The resort is not all that it's cracked up to be. The beach is public and any old local can just help themselves. It is patrolled by pretend security guards that make you feel neither safe nor on holiday. The rooms are not what they appear to be. Our 'double bed' was actually no different from the cheap one in our shabby appartment that we originally stayed in and was in fact two sinlges pushed together with nothing to stop them fom drifting apart (typically just when you don't want them to, if you know what I mean). The sheets were also single and definately not up to 5* standards. The food was rubbish. We ate in the Puerto Vista restuarant. Don't do it. I've had better meals at KFC. Much better. 5 star, it ain't. The bathroom had rust on the metal edges of the ceiling tiles and there were lots of ants in one of the cuboards! The resort staff are on a constant sales pitch, therefore you have strangers being ushered around the place everyday and it never really feels peaceful. We couldn't get a sun lounger by the pool as they were all taken as it was windy. The beach was not very popular due to the risk of getting sand blasted. I could go on, but in a nutshell... If it looks to good to be true, it is.
We got our money back, all bar the £200 we were charged for our 8 hour stay in the room. Bargain. If you want a 5* holiday and can't afford to pay the prices, well I have bad news for you. You're not going to get a 5* holiday. The Anfi, on the face of it is a brilliant idea, but like most things in life that look great on the surface, scratch a little deeper and you will find it is most definately not all that. The other thing is the amount of Germans. Don't get me started on that one...

The Europa Shopping Centre is full of shops selling tat for high prices so stay clear and the people trying to get you into the restaurants can be pushy. The beaches are lovely in Gran Canaria we took buses to them, we went to the water park, the kids loved it! On Friday there is a great market in Porto Mogan, we took a boat to it - we booked it through our Thompson's rep, it was a lovely way to travel to Porto Mogan the crew gave us a nice cold Sangria during the trip and the kids a lolly, they also slowed the boat down to show us fish, and threw in bread for them, we didn't expect this added extras during this half hour boat trip, the visit to this market is a must, Porto Mogan is beautiful.

The beach and dunes are about 25mins walk away, as is Costa Meloneras with its very large luxury hotels. A pleasant walk or a taxi ride if preferred.Only downside is going literally just outside of the resort, not on an organised trip, as people bug you with unwanted "you've won something come with us" garbage. I know they are doing it to earn a living, but u pay for a holiday and don't want unwanted sellers - it's bad enough in the UK for things like that!
