On arrival (late evening) we weren't particularly happy with what we saw, the foyer area was small and unimpressive (for size of hotel) and the room was not as good as we expected - although adequate. It is fair to say that the reception area and rooms are not as good as some we have been to in Tenerife (eg Bahia Principe or Dunas Parisio)
We were on the first floor (the lowest and furthest away from reception)and had a sea view, but the view was spoilt by large pieces of netting held up by metal girders protruding out of the cliff - presumably a safety feature to prevent people from falling onto the road below. So a tip for anyone booking this hotel - ask for a higher floor - perhaps 5 or 6?
Having outlined a couple of negatives there are many postives to staying at this hotel: the views are spectacular, the food is excellent, service and staff are second to non, the pool area is very clean and well laid out, the evening entertainment was far better than other hotels we have been to and there was lots of activities for kids of all ages.
Amadores beach is lovely and there is a regular shuttle bus from the hotel - if you don't fancy negotiating the steep hill.
Overall an excellent holiday.

Amadores beach is clean, and very beautiful, the hotel offers a free bus service from the hotel which runs often , and is reliable. it cost 4 euros to hire the sunbed and umbrella for the whole day , and has lots shops and bars /resturants on beach front

Just got back home after a fantastic 2 weeks at the riu vistamar hotel. The staff are great, very clean, food loveley and varied. The entertainment staff work very hard and put on some good shows.Rooms are very spacious and the views are great all overlooking the sea Loads of sun loungers so no need to get there to early.Port morgan very nice did the yellow submarine well worth it paid about 22 euros per adult. If you want to try a aqua park the best one is in maspolamas but watch the hidden costs like sun longers which are 3.5 euros and the food is quite expensive, but there is about 7 big slides and a wave pool. If you have booked up for the summer you will not be disapointed.
beaches are very clean and there are plenty of watersports. The main supermarket shops are netto which are a bit expensive.Plenty to do thou maspolamos is very nice

Just returned from 10 days holiday at the Vistamar, we would honestly struggle to find anything to complain about as we thought the entire stay was fantastic. The food was good quality and available throughout the day at the poolside bar,as were the drinks, which you could serve yourself. The pools were never too crowded and it was always possible to get a sun bed at any time of the day. The views from our balcony were breathtaking as it overlooked the superb beach below, which could be reached by use of the free hotel bus service which ran every half an hour. Puerto rico can be reached by a 20 minute stroll along a coastal walkway which we did several times during our stay. Each day the entertainments team ran several games,ie, football, water polo, rifle shooting, darts, french bowls, and shuffle board, which we enterted,by taking part we met some great people which made our stay even better. As for day trips we went to the market at Mogan which was a nice town with some good bars and shops, the market was ok but all the stalls seemed to sell the same goods. We also went on the Camel capers trip where you visited the camel ranch and then went on to ride the camels over the sand dunes at Maspalomas.A couple of down points,we thought the shops in puerto rico were very expensive and you also got hasseled by the touts trying to get you to do a trip to an island called Anfi, dont get fooled by their waffle as all they are pushing are holiday sales. overall we really enjoyed our stay, and are even thinking about revisiting next year.
The beach was great but the water starts off shallow then after about 20 feet falls steeply to quite a depth so you would have to watch small children if you have them.If its nightlife that you want it would be better to stay in Puerto rico but taxi fares w...

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at this wonderful hotel. The food was absolutely fantastic and the all inclusive nature of the hotel meant that meal times were very flexible during the day!
There are plenty of sunbeds to go round but if your reserve before 9 they will be removed which is a good thing!
The mini club was excellent although there is a maximum of 2 members of staff and at this time of year it was packed out so we had to keep an eye on the little ones.
All staff are very friendly and polite and treat you as an individual. A special mention for Jesus (waiter) whom our youngest daughter fell in love with!!!!
All in all I would thoroughly recommend a stay here.
