"Mirador Del Atlantico"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Poor hotel, on thomas cook website it advertises it as a 4* but then in the small print it is actually a 3*. However when you actually get there it is probably a 2*. The hotel is in darkness. you have to hit buttons all round the hotel to switch the lights on. they only stay on for what seems like a few seconds. Suprised nobody has broken their neck trying to find where they are going. This is especially dangerous when its raining as all the floor is slippery marble. Service in the hotel in poor, the problem is simply the hotel are trying to cut costs by having as few staff as possible. this could mean you could be waiting for your drinks for 15mins. Food is ok in the restaurant but if you don't get their early then all you get is food that has been kept warm for several hours. The resort however is very nice. It has a lovely view of the beach and is in a lovely location. its walkable to Puerto Rico and for the price I paid I was not too disapointed but won't be staying here again

"Mirador Del Atlantico"
Overall Hotel Rating:
This is advertised as a 4* but officially when you get there its a 3* as its all over the hotel. this is just thomas cook trying to make it look better than it is. Would not go back to this hotel for many reasons:- * you pay extra for everything - tv in your room, air con, safe, a euro to weigh luggage * We arrived at hotel at 5.45am and were told by porter your dinner is in fridge. Who would want cold meat and dried up salad when breakie is 3 hours away?. I said to him I don't want it and want my dinner on final night. this was not allowed. this is the only hotel when i have been on a night flight that does not allow you to have dinner on final night. very tight!!!! * Basically the word 'tight' springs to mind all over this hotel. the hotel is in darkness. in every public area you have to hit a switch to make the lights come on for around ten seconds then you are in darkness. this is really annoying when your on the toilet!!! Overall for the money it was not bad but I would not stay in this hotel again.

"Mirador Atlantico"
Overall Hotel Rating:
This is the 2nd time we have been to Mirador atlantico, we had a 2 bedroom apartment which unfortunatly backed onto the corridor where it was quite noisy until about 2 am and the windows were at the top of the room so it was very hot in the 2nd bedroom. There was air conditioning available to hire but it was 100 euros for 2 weeks which worked out about £79. The location of the apartments is lovely and a short walk down the hill leads you to a lovely beach. There is a mini mart on site but round the corner there is a SPAR selling just about everything you need. Puerto Rico is just round the corner, about 5 minutes in the taxi. Really good value for money holiday, would definatley go again.

"Mirador Amadores Little Gem"
Overall Hotel Rating:
This hotel is situated in an elavated postion above the beach area ,the pole has an excerlent view accross the ocean.Entertainment runs through out the day from arobics in the pool to bingo during happy hour at tea time .The entertainment team are constantly doing thing during the day and can not be faulted .The food at the hotel was OK but due to the majority being self catering ,there was not much choice .The bargian was to purchase the three meal deal ,good value for money. The rooms where large and spacious containing all the mod cons you could require ,only draw back was the pay TV and aircon that had to be paid for extra.otherwise a briliant place to stay.

"Highly recommended"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Booked on the internet as we last visited Gran Canaria around 4y ago and went to Amadores Beach but the surrounding hotels/apartments were'nt all completed at the time so we stayed in Puerto Rico. Picked the Mirador Del Atlantico for its location - a few minutes walk to the beach. The Staff were very friendly and helpful, knew what drinks you wanted after a couple of nights! The accommodation was spacious and majority of rooms had a sea-view over the beach, with the sun setting to the front of the hotel in the evenings. Pool area was busy and noisy with the kids all having a great time, so we headed to the beach most days. Beach loungers 3euros each and parsol 2.50e. Beach clean and busy well into the evening with the locals arriving after their work. Few bars/restaurants open in the evening for a change of scenery, although Half Board at the Hotel was plenty and varied, with theme evenings. Air-con was a separate charge at 8euros per night or 40euros for the week. We will definitely return to this Hotel.

"excellent hotel"
Overall Hotel Rating:
jsut arrived back from the mirador atlantico. The rooms where very clean and basic. The balconies are a good size with table and chairs. The entertainment at the hotel was fablous with ricky (the entertainer) he would always keep the kids entertained. the location of the hotel is a short walk to the beach and shops there is a shopping centre in peurto rico which will cost just 3 euros in a taxi. the hotel food was nice all you could eat buffet got chips everynight so if you dont like the food chip cobs are ok . the pool is not a bad size but could do with more sunbeds and happy hour at the pool bar. there is bingo everyday and water polo or water arobics . the staff are friendly and do as much as they can for you. i recomend this hotel for people of all ages just to relax i will deffiently be reterning in the future.

Overall Hotel Rating:
stayed here in 2005 just me and my wife and we had a great holiday.the hotel is in a excellent location overlooking the amadores beach.rooms were cleaned everyday to a good standard, fresh towels aswel and soap if requested.only problem with the room was no air con which made sleeping hardwork!the pool area was very clean and always able to find a sunbed at any time of day, pool was abit on the small side and there was always the usual early birds claiming sunbeds although it says people are not allowed!! food was poor and the beer was dear but there are two happy hours daily at pool bar which is nice.overall the hotel is nice and clean ,staff are friendly and were going back in sep 2009 with our 2 kids aged 1 and 3,were going back cuz its ideal for kids .

"One of our best holidays yet"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Couldnt' fault the hotel one little bit, From checking in to checking out, All the staff were very friendly and more than polite nothing was ever a problem for them, The hotel was clean and tidy all the time, Maid service was good, If there was one little niggle I could say is that there were signs around the pool area saying forbidden to reserve sunbeds and even though they were plentyful throughout the day the English still insisted in getting them from 7am most days, But other than that faultless.

"Excellent hotel and location"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Fantastic hotel. We ate their most nights, and food was of very high quality, and very cheap. There was generally deals on through the rep for meal discounts. Rep also organised may events each day, or you can go to the lovely beach if preferred

"Expensive for the Quality you get"
Overall Hotel Rating:
This Hotel is very clean and pleasant. The staff always greet you with a smile and generally a very happy vibe. The cleaners also work hard and clean your room to a high standard. Beware of extra costs like Air-Con, 80 Euros for 2 weeks. Safety deposit box, 20 Euros. It's a fair 3 Star Hotel. Can't comment on the food as we never ate in the Hotel. The price of drinks is quite expensive. If you are also looking for somewhere with a quiet pool area then also avoid this Hotel. There is tacky music and entertainment going on all day, everyday. The most quiet part of the day at the pool is 4 pm when everyone concentrating on their Bingo..... The entertainer is a nice chap and is really good with the children, but it wasn't for us. Lovely sea views from the rooms with great Sunsets in the evening.

"Entertainer overload"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Just returned today from the hotel Mirador del atlantico, 2 adults and 2 children aged 13 and 8 years. First thing to say is that the hotel location is overlooking the beach and very convenient for the surrounding bars taverna's, shops and transport links ie Taxi and bus. I have to say that the overall cleanliness of the hotel is very good with daily pool maintenance and very hard working room maids. My family and I ate in the restaraunt only once on the italian evening, and to be quite honest it was the last time, due to food quality that we could only liken to high street takeaway standard, under cooked and not very hot using very poor ingredients.Actuall restaraunt was very clean but lacked any type of atmosphere because of the lack of paying customers and unimaginative decoration. Pool bar also served food from mid day to 16.30pm , but again dont expect to much, drinks were very expensive at 3.75 euro for a beer and 3.50 for a large coke! best thing to do is smuggle your own drinks in on an evening from the local Spar shop much cheaper option.
If you want value for money and fantastic food, then stroll down the beach and visit Porto Fino resterante, very friendly with consistantly high quality food, if a little slow with the bill.
My biggest gripe of the holiday im afraid was the entertainer jonathon, im sure he's a great guy, but really should stick to hospital radio which is more than likely where he materialised from. I found him to be full of self importance with a very dictorial and some what patronising personality when dealing with children and adults alike. He is great with the kids if they do either drawing or watch dvd's anything that means he does'nt have to do very much. Everyday is the same and goes as follows Kids club, Table tennis, killer pool, water polo followed by bingo and the happy hour, oh and I nearly forgot the high pressure sell of the rubbish hotel food. Evening entertainment was on ocassion good ie hypnotist and comedian, but on the whole very lacking in inspiration. Get rid of Jonathon and promote his brother Ricky a genuine guy who put the kids first and not his ego!
Porto Rico was very dirty and had a lack of shops for those looking for trinkits etc. Watch out for the pea pod men who hang about under the foot bridges as they engage you and steal your wallets and purses etc!.
Amodores beach was very busy with local tourists who parade about with very little on, but it was fine.
Cheap and cheerful holiday.

"Brillant Place"
Overall Hotel Rating:
One of the best holidays we have had, our 7 year old son had the time of his life. Jonathan the entertainer (and his brother Ricky) are both great with the children and for the first time our son actually went away with the kids club, never happended before.
Could do with bigger pool as when it gets busy and all the lilos are in it there is not a lot of room to get about!
Food at bar is okay and the staff though slow are lovely and really helpful - the girls making the waffles are particularly nice. Never ate in restuarant so cant comment on food there.
Location lovely, we were in block B with sea view and sitting out on balcony watching the sun set with a cold beer (what more can one ask for)!
15 minute walk into P Rico and only 4 euros taxi back, liked the restuarants in the commercial centre and down at the harbour, not so impressed with Europa Centre though.
Great entertainment in Scruffy Murphys pub in the centre, group plays there most nights and place always busy.
Water park outside Maspalomas great, very short queues and heaps of sunbeds, not so impressed with small one in P Rico, not every ride had life guard on it and our little boy fell off his ring going down on the rides and got quite a fright (as I did when I passed him by!). Not enough water running down some of the slides as well, so found it difficult getting down.
All in all great holiday and would recommed these apartments for anyone with children and who like nice location but still fairly central.
