This is a more upmarket resort and is suitable for all age groups nightlife is a bit limited but plenty of good resturants and highclass shops.

Nice resort with some really lovely restaurants, particularly Grand Italia! But not such a nice beach so if your a beach person you will be very disappointed here!

There are lots of British bars and restaurants in Maspalomas, which is great if you are travelling with young children as there is a lot of choice for them. The beach is lovely, but being the Atlantic it is that bit rougher and colder than Med destinations so you need to take care. But all in all it is a nice place and we would return.

The resort was lovely, eating out could be a little on the expensive side, but we never had a bad meal. the shopping is excellent with quite a few up market boutiques so take a credit card with you. The beach is one of the best on the island and was great for the kids. Just make sure they stay the designated area as there is a nudist part further down.

We didn't really venture out too much much the excursions were great into Sioux City and the Jeep safari

We were at an AI hotel so didn't go into the town at night much

Maspalomas is famous for it's dunes and has great beaches but watch out for the nudists in the dunes

The Botanical Park of Maspalomas (El parque Botánico de Maspalomas) is a nice little (covers an area of 12.000 m2) botanical park located at the end of the golf area in Maspalomas, right at the bottom of the hill which takes you to Playa del Ingles. Because of the location it has a special microclimate. It has about 50 different species, ranging from a vide variety of palms from all over the world to all kinds of vegetables, medicinal and aromatic plants. It has a nice sitting area where you can rest and look at the beautiful plants and trees.

This is a very part of gran canaria with the lovely sand dunes and the sea was so warm even in may when it is not the height of their season. There are a few shops, restaurants etc, that we found were nice and we were felt it was the right resort for us as we wanted something a little quieter. If you are into the nightlife then not the place for you but if you want to relax in the pretty surroundings and not be overun by 18-30 revellers then maspolomas is the place for you.

Absolutely beautiful area of gran caneria, The beaches were out of this world. Not alot of nightlife but we only wanted a relax so that was okay with all of us.

Also little to do for kids on and around the beach, so bring your own stuff. The city centre is boring too, I went to PLaya del Inglés every night! I'm never going back here, I'll try to find something else next time!!!

We liked Maspalomas. The kids loved the beach, we liked exploring the sand dunes and there is plenty in the resort to keep you entertained. It isn’t too noisy, we will be returning no doubt.

Resort was better than the hotel and all the family loved the resort but we would find somewhere else to stay if we went back to Gran Canaria again - the beaches were good and plenty of Cafes, Bars and places to eat so you are totally spoiled for choice here

Maspalomas beach was nice but we were disappointed with some of the things to do in the area. We went to Holiday World one afternoon but the fair rides doesn't actually open til after 6 or 6.30 (which we didn't know) so we thought we would kill time by going bowling but there wasn't any staff despite it being open so after waiting 15 mins we gave up and decided to got have a walk round the shopping centre opposite only to find there was only a couple of convenience shops and restaurants open! We then tried to go to crazy golf but it was all tatty and couldn't play properly. In the end we gave up and walked back to Holiday World which was now open but it reall wasn't worth the wait! Half the rides weren't open and the ones that were didn't have enough staff to man them all! We did have a couple of good days out. One was at Palmitos Park which had a good dolphin show and lots of different animals. There was also lots of lizards happily walking about. The other good day out was at Aqualand, lots of rides but word of advice, buy some pool shoes as the floors are far too hot to walk barefoot on!

We only made short visits to the resort but liked what we saw! It was a long walk from the hotel but taxis are cheap and easily found. There are some good shops and the beaches towards the dunes are pleasant.

Plenty around to do if you want it. Walking distance there is Faro 2 Centre (not too exciting). Maspalomas lighthouse (loads of shops, bars and designer shops and a shopping centre). Walk along the dry river bed to the beach past the camel rides and the nature reserve (keep your eyes out for lizards). The Kasbah a maze of shops and bars and an underground shopping centre and lively bars. The Yumbo Centre is a big shopping centre with the ground floor dedicated to bars, drag shows and great for people watching over a cocktail. Playa de Ingles beach has some lovely bars and restaurants (yes, elvis is alive there). Weekly Market on Weds and Sats. Holiday World for a bit of fun or bowling. Aqualand for a great water park. Most of these are walkable or just a 3 euro taxi ride.
