"Meloneras"
Overall Sub Resort Rating:
The resort was very good. The hotel was on the beach so the area had many attractions. There were many paths to walk along which were very nice at night and the temperature made them very calming. The resort had many shops to go into (designer) so there was a lot to do in town as there were many shops. There werent many places to eat out as we ate at the hotel. The nightlife wasnt too good either. There were a few bars that we used in the day and the drinks were good value for money. The beaches were excellent and perfect for wind surfing.

"Meloneras"
Overall Sub Resort Rating:
We liked the resort, though we didn’t leave our hotel that much. It is a lovely bit of coastline, and the resort does have some shops and bars to go in and look round. We have been before, and we would go again.

Overall Sub Resort Rating:
Fairly non-descript resort, but having taken a trip round the island, evidently one of the better ones. Definitely pay a trip to Parmitos Park.

"Excellent resort"
Overall Sub Resort Rating:
The resort is a great place to spend a week away. There is pleanty to see an do, perhaps if you spent longer than a week here you would start to get bored, but we certainly found plenty to entertain outselves with here. The bars and resteraunts are all very good, reasonably priced too. There is a good varitey of food avaliable, so it pays to shop around. The nightlife was a little quiet for our liking, with most bars closing early, but this is a minor complaint really. the beaches are beautiful, we spent a lot of our time here getting sunburnt!

"Small and Quiet Resort"
Overall Sub Resort Rating:
this hotel is in costa melonaras which is in a very newly built resort just by the side of maspalomas, one merges into another. although i loved the hotel didnt think much of the resort, there simply isnt much there, hence why most of the hotels in the area are all massive 5 or 4 star complexes, designed for you to stay in the hotel. there are a few cafes and bars, a lovely beach, a pleasant beach side promenade for walking, but the resort lacked a real ambience. i just personally missed the hustle and bustle and people watching, maybe once this resort is more established it will be better, but for me there isnt enough there.

"Clean and Lively "
Overall Sub Resort Rating:
Prices have gone up dramatically for food and drink so check menus out before you sit down and suggest you use local supermarkets to buy drinks as they are still very reasonable good bottle of red only 4euros.
Busy promenade with lots of walkers, cyclists etc but lots of bars and restaurants so plenty of choice.
Take care on the beach if you get a windy day as you can get sand blasted.

"Meloneras - a stylish place"
Overall Sub Resort Rating:
The Meloneras area is lovely, with a promenade (El Faro Boulevard) with great restaurants with sea views immediately behind the Costa Meloneras hotel. We loved Grill Faro and Grand Italia. 3 course meals for 2 with a couple of drinks each around 60-70 euros. Further restaurants available a 20 min walk west along the prom by Meloneras Palace hotel. Meloneras area, and the hotels in it, aren't cheap but this means no Club 18-30 types. This is a place for a leisurely meal watching the sun go down - all-night party animals may be happier in Puerto Rico or Playa del Ingles.
Beaches are sandy but long and straight - if you like protected coves Meloneras & Maspalomas won't fit the bill. Puerto Mogan and Amadores may be better for you.
4 car hire shops in the Meloneras area, we saw prices from 25 euros per day. Puerto Mogan is well worth a visit - very pretty fishing village with restaurants & a lovely beach. Be prepared for plenty of very winding roads if you hire a car.

"expensive!"
Overall Sub Resort Rating:
If you walked right at the seafront you got to a small beach with nothing much on it apart from sunbeds, a few places to eat and a shopping centre that was mainly empty! If you walked left, it is a lovely walk to the lighthouse. You pass loads of places to eat, designer shops, (a few more shops inland), supermarkets and a shopping centre. We can recommend the 19th hole and a steakhouse on the seafront over in the shopping centre. This is by far the most expensive place to eat and drink we have ever been too! (3 euro 75 for a child chocolate milkshake) The resort seems to be lacking in atmosphere, at night, not much to do, and no English bars etc. There are several people playing guitars etc but this was aimed at couples not families. After the lighthouse you get to Maspalomas. The sand dunes are great, inland is a bit tacky! It is a very pretty and clean resort though, we did have a good time!
