What can I say, just returned from a week at this hotel and it is pure luxury! When you arrive at the hotel you are given a free glass of champagne and your case is taken to your room. The room is huge, with plenty of room. A massive king size bed (which is...

We have stayed in many 5 Star hotels and this one does not measure up to some others for a number of reasons. Previous reviews talk about the nice rooms, 5 pools, overall size and good food, this is all true.
However I would expected the rooms to be ...

The Meloneras area is lovely, with a promenade (El Faro Boulevard) with great restaurants with sea views immediately behind the Costa Meloneras hotel. We loved Grill Faro and Grand Italia. 3 course meals for 2 with a couple of drinks each around 60-70 euros. Further restaurants available a 20 min walk west along the prom by Meloneras Palace hotel. Meloneras area, and the hotels in it, aren't cheap but this means no Club 18-30 types. This is a place for a leisurely meal watching the sun go down - all-night party animals may be happier in Puerto Rico or Playa del Ingles.
Beaches are sandy but long and straight - if you like protected coves Meloneras & Maspalomas won't fit the bill. Puerto Mogan and Amadores may be better for you.
4 car hire shops in the Meloneras area, we saw prices from 25 euros per day. Puerto Mogan is well worth a visit - very pretty fishing village with restaurants & a lovely beach. Be prepared for plenty of very winding roads if you hire a car.

If you walked right at the seafront you got to a small beach with nothing much on it apart from sunbeds, a few places to eat and a shopping centre that was mainly empty! If you walked left, it is a lovely walk to the lighthouse. You pass loads of places to eat, designer shops, (a few more shops inland), supermarkets and a shopping centre. We can recommend the 19th hole and a steakhouse on the seafront over in the shopping centre. This is by far the most expensive place to eat and drink we have ever been too! (3 euro 75 for a child chocolate milkshake) The resort seems to be lacking in atmosphere, at night, not much to do, and no English bars etc. There are several people playing guitars etc but this was aimed at couples not families. After the lighthouse you get to Maspalomas. The sand dunes are great, inland is a bit tacky! It is a very pretty and clean resort though, we did have a good time!

These apartments look lovely from the outside. The multicoloured buildings are really pretty. The grounds have flowers and are v well kept. The swimming pools, jacuzzi's crazy golf etc are well kept. We hired downstairs only, this was fine for our family of...
