just come back from a 2 week stay in the jardin del sol and i am absolutely gutted to be home. everything about the place is great, the position, the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, staff are really friendly and the place is absolutely spotless. after reading reviews on here me and my partner were a bit put off with going but i am so glad we did. i will definately be going back again. but beware the only downside is is that it is absolutely boiling. we were wearing factor 50 and still burnt. the pool area is really clean and there is plenty of room for sun beds so there is no need to wake up at the crack of dawn to try and get one, we had the same spot for 2 weeks running. the food at the pool bar is really nice one of the nicest burgers i have had in a long time. there are lots of lovely restaurants just outside the jardin del sol we enjoyed the brittannia, mackers and about a 10 minute walk away there is a lovely irish centre where the food is absolutely delicious. all in all we had a brilliant holiday and i would recommend this to anyone who has children.

Jardin del Sol certainly doesnt look much from outside, but once inside its quite well laid out with very well kept gardens and a good pool area, food in the pool area good but not particularly cheap.Maid service is very good as regards to cleanliness but they are rather noisy when they start early in the morning shouting across to each other ! We stayed in apartment No 1 which was well located but did not have the pool view we had requested. The Apartment itself was clean and bright and the upstairs bedroom and bathroom quite a novelty and gave some privacy to mum and dad.Playa del Ingles is looking a little tired now nearly every Resteraunt has a very similar menu and most are not cheap,Guarpo (right on the doorstep is one of the better ones) if you fancy a Chinese Tony Chui is very good (exit apartments turn left at main road past supermarket and turn left again. In the same strip you will find Mackers Bar (cheapest beer in town and English TV if you like that sort of thing)also Big Bens proper English home from home !!! dont bother with the 'Family Drag Show' its far from a family show being X-rated ,there is an Indian which isnt very good and another Chinese - didnt try.If get to the end of this stip you will see steps leading to a bridge over the Motorway cross this and about 20yds on your right is a narrow road go down this turn left at the end and then right you are now in San Augustin, walk along this road and you pass several authentic Tapas type bars and small shops keep going and you come to a Shopping Centre with some good shops and Hyper Dino upstairs (cheaper than local supermarkets) also try a coffee at the place outside of Dinos (fantastic). Not much entertainment in or around the apartments but Taxis are cheap,Yumbo centre changes from a shopping centre by day to a lively mix of eateries shops and clubs (mostly Gay) by night. We found the best entertainment down by the beach in the Cafe Roma, different show each night at 10pm followed by Elvis each night.Beware of the beach if you have a young family, once you get to the Dunes section you you enter the Nudist section this now runs right the way throught to Maspolomas and when we were there there were thousands of naked people (mostly fat and ugly) all the way along the beach!! If you want a really nice beach go to Amfi del Mar,its an upmarket Time share resort with a Carribean white sand beach but it is free.Get the bus to Puerto Mogan -very pretty-then get the water taxi back to Puerto Rico and bus back from there. For Shopping go to Vencindario, Atlantico Centre and main high street.Good value for money try the Crocodile Park.
This place is way better than other budget options and a significant number of more expensive places. Its handy for both beach and central PdI, if you like clubbing or are gay the Yumbo and Kasbah are nearby. Bit of a walk to beach but still not too far. ...

Its handy for both beach and central PdI, if you like clubbing or are gay the Yumbo and Kasbah are nearby. Bit of a walk to beach but still not too far. Nice and pleasant, very nice people staying here also.
Good option if you want the sun and a bit of a party. Some restaurants are a bit grotty in the area but if you look around there are good options. My only gripe is that its become much more difficult to get a trip leaving on anything other than a Saturday f...

Have just got back from a week in Playa, not the 1st time i've been, but the 1st time staying at these apartments.
The complex is good very clean and well maintained, the pool is a good size with a childs end and a deeper end for adults, although you could do with a little more room for the sun loungers. There's a pool bar which also serves food. The rooms are very clean and have all you could need, kettle toaster, TV, fridge, didnt stop in one of the superior rooms but did have a look in one, the only difference being you get a microwave and parasol for your patio really not worth the extra money. You can hire fans and air-con unit from reception cheaper than through tour operator if you wish. Not sure i was that keen on having an upstairs, if your not good with stairs then this isnt the place for you. It is easier when things are all on one level as if you left something downstairs and wanted it upstairs or vice versa it could feel like you were up and down like a yoyo. Perhaps thats me being lazy! You could hear the cabaret acts from the RIU Flamingo over the road but unless your the early to bed type this shouldnt really bother you.
The staff are helpful and friendly, there is a supermarket on site and internet access. All room are cleaned with bedding and towels changed every other day, if you dont want to be disturbed then leave the sign out and they will leave clean towels on your patio table, the patio area itself is quite large with table and 4 chairs and private from your neighbours. You are no more than 10 minutes walk from the Yumbo center and 15-20 minutes from the beach.

We'd never been to Gran Canaria but thought we'd give it a try. We were very pleasantly surprised. The accomodation was very good considering the price. The rooms were cleaned every day. The pool area was absolutely great although we found out on the second day that you have to reserve a sunbed very early in the morning. The complex itself was great as were the staff, always friendly. The restaurants surrounding the hotel served great food and we found things were a lot cheaper than most parts of Spain we've been too. We're thinking about booking the same holiday for next year.
Overall EXCELLENT.
