We have stayed in Es Cana before, in fact stayed at a few resorts in Ibiza. This is one of the nicest with Cala Nova next door. This time, there had been lots of storms so the beach had quite a lot of seaweed on them. We thought taht they might have cleaned it up a bit quicker. The beach itself was great, with lots of really nice eating places along the edge. It's a hassle free resort and not far from the airport. Ibiza has lots of lovely places to visit and much easier if you hire a car. Little out of the way places that are just magic! The islands of Es Vedra are beautiful to look at, and also Formentera is fabulous to visit. Can also recommend Cala Llonga and Ibiza old town.

Es Cana is a little gem, with a choice of excellent beaches, and good nightlife, particularly Charlie's and Popeye's.

Ibiza is expensive so be warned and take extra cash. The clubs are around 50 euros to get in witht the drinks being 15 euros each. The main San Antonio Bay beach is not so great, wouldn't recommend going there, but if you walk along the seafront past Cafe Mambo there's a nice little coved beach - perfect. Loads of cafes, restaurants and bars to choose from and some water activities to enjoy.

wouldn't advise families with young kids to go here the beach isn't that great and it's very busy with party ppl especially at night.

I've put this resort as suitable for party animals and it is, but it's a family place aswell, there is stuff to do for everyone 5 years old to 80 years old. Great nightlife, great sights, great locals, great restaurants etc

If you want the good beaches or the noisier area though you can take the taxi boat just outside the hotel to main San Antonio and the good sandy beaches.The second bad thing is the cost of the safe's as they are 4 euros a day to have one which is highly overpriced!! The entertainment of a night is fairly good, there are a few good shows and a few not so good some shows! There are plenty of shops down the main road from the hotel and bars if you want to go to see some entertainment outside the hotel.

Nice little resort, the beach is also pretty safe for children as again it is shallow, and sheltered. We have been a few times now, it is near San Antonio Bay which makes a nice walk in the evening by the coast.

A beautiful resort with pretty bays, white sand and safe beaches; the sea is warm and clear and very safe for children. There are plenty of restaurants and bars, though can't say anything about the night life as we stayed in the hotel each evening. If you want a totally relaxing holiday, peace and quiet then this is the place for you; we loved it and no we are not old! just enjoy the good things in life and time to unwind.

This resort has a lovely beach.Loads of sunbeds and is kept very clean There are water taxis to Formentera, Ibiza Town, Santa Eulalia and other smaller beaches.There is also a train which visits 3 beaches along the coastline . We went on this trip at the cost of 14 euros each but were dissappointed as we didn't stop anywhere more then 30 mins. We thought it was not very good value for money.If you want to hire a car make sure you book it before you leave as they are in short supply.We went on the sunset cruise from San Antonio and the cruise around Es Vedra through Thomas Cook. They were both good value for money and excellent trips.

much of what you can expect, basically blackpool with a lot more sun but to go out every night and turn into a yob is what ibiza is all about.

We went in the first week of September. The resort was extremely quite. The brochures promise of a range of restaurants isn't correct. There is the balsat restaurant which is nice but average food, the Chinese which I really didn't appeal. The remainder are cafe / snack bar affairs. The best of which being the british bar. The Happy Friar mentioned in earlier reviews has been closed for the 2009 season.

We travelled out of town most nights to eat i.e. san antonio or ibiza town. The bus to ibiza town is reasonable but the times do limit your nights out (during the week last bus is 8.15pm ish). Taxis were relatively easy to get but expensive (approx 34 euro to ibiza town etc).

The beach is small but clean and well lifeguarded. Other than sunbathing there is very little to do in resort.

There are 3 supermarkets in resort. None are fantastically stocked but you can get limited basics to make snacks etc in the appartments.

Portinatx is a very nice resort, quite small and peaceful. It is the opposite end of the island to the hustle of Ibiza Town.

this resort is brilliant for young families and couples who like to go out but not partying. there are so many lovley places to eat and all are very reasinablr. we took our 2 year old daughter and it was fab for her, there is a mini funfair which is very reasonable. it is an excellent resort if you want to see the iskand of ibiza as there is a bus statio which takes you to all the main places of ibiza all day every day. es cana beach is lovley however the best beach is cala nova beach - its where all the locals go, by cala nova beach there is a shop which sells very cheap baguettes which are lovely. whats nice about the resort ois that there are no touts trying to get you in pubs, there are no larger louts there and it is a very friendly resort. los jarros restaurant is lovely which is just off the main road. one of the best resorts i have ever stayed in
