we went to playa dorada beginning of august with my son, daughter and daughters friend,i met friends of mine over there, we stayed all inclusive and so pleased i did i would have spent a fortune other wise well worth it as i had three kids with me. i must say from the entertainment staff daniel and diego to the waiters 2 antonios and franco and little sweet yvonne who worked her little socks off we had the best holiday ever so much we have booked for next year. it is so clean the maids work very hard. ive never been to a spanish hotel where every single person workd there has a smile for u every single day. i would recommend this hotel to the old and the young we met a lovely couple and they were grandparents so this hotel suits all ages. round the pool the entertainers came round every day to get you to join in and of course the sunshine song which every one got up and did round the pool we even bought the cd. to whoever goes here you will surely have a fab time and roll on next year 50 wks to go. xx

hotel very clean and location is amazing lifts arnt too clever and used the stairs alot the rooms were abit small but we didnt spend much time in them anyway the shower was good and bathroom spotlessly clean maids changed towels and bedding every day but monday all three hotels are linked so you can use the pool at any (all very close together) they were cleaned daily and there was plenty of sunbeds all three pools had its own lifeguard and you were not allowed to use the pool before they arrived in the morning the entertainment staff were very good and all bar staff and waiters were very polite. pool bars served good measures of spirits etc and the all inclusive option is a must as everything intown we found to be very expensive all in all a brill holiday and would recomend to anyone who may be worried about going food was good and plenty to choose from all cooked well the pizza is to die for u dont get tea or coffee at lunch or evening meal but you do get wine by the bottle or water/coke etc puddings seem to be the same each day cake fruit and more cake oh and different angel delight but all in all good food for a 3* hotel would definatly return again

Perfect locationoverlooking the bay and beach. Rooms are a little small and ours was dark, it had a slight view of sea and beach but would have had an amazing view out to sea if there hadn't been a huge tree in the way!! Boat stop right outside to take you to Santa Eulalia, Ibiza Town and Es Cana. Had a v. expensive trip to Formentera. Apart from boat fare expect to pay for buses at the other end (from 5-10 euro pp) and also there was no bus to bring us back from the beach so we had to pay another 12 euro in taxi. The beach there is idyllic but the restaurants snobby. Anyway, back to the hotel... The hotel seems fantastic for everyone really - lots of food choice on offer, topped up regularly but a little basic we felt. We ate out 4 out of 7 nights. Resort itself is small but enough restaurants to keep you going for a week. Pirates does fantastic cocktails. Would definitely return to the resort, which we rarely say.

a reasonable 3 star hotel .not loads of amenities. however it does cater for families and the staff are friendly. The room we stayed in was probably below what we were expecting but was clean if a little small.

We have just come back from a fabulous 2 week holiday at the Player Dorada. I went with my sister and my 12 year old daughter. That was our 4th year there. We were only back a day when we booked to go again for the 5th time so we knew we had got the hotel. This hotel is suitable for most people, from couples to families. We were sat thinking what we could fault about the hotel.... errr.... No, couldn't think of anything bad. The hotel is immacuately clean, there are cleaning staff on the go all the time. The location of the hotel is second to none, only a few steps down to the beach. The pools are very clean and the staff are amazing, from behind the bar, to the waiters to the entertainment staff. On the subject of the entertainment staff, they are worth their weight in gold. They work so hard, working day and night to keep everyone entertained, adults and children alike. I was very upset to say goodbye to Remo, Nicole, Joley and Enzo. Don't listen to bad reports, especially about the food. We can't fault it. There is such a selection for your evening meal and always a carvery every night doing something different. In a morning you can order a freshly made omlette which the chef cooks in front of you. My daughter is a fussy eater and she always easts well there. I put on half a stone as I was always going back for seconds. I am just couning the days now til we go again. I think if I could change one thing, I would maybe change the wardrobe space, 3 people there for 2 weeks. Not much hanging space, but hey... you're on holiday and spending most it in shorts and T shirts so what if it is abit creased.. everyone is in the same boat. I recommend this hotel 110%.

We just returned from a fabulous week staying at the playa dorada and i would not hesitate to recommend it. It was great.

We booked the day before with thomas cook and got a great deal for the school holidays £965 from teeside for 2 adults (40 and 36) and a child(13)all inclusive with daytime flights, meals and excess baggage, this was also available from newcastle at £885 with night flights.

I read the reviews before i booked as im quite fussy about where i stay but i would return to this hotel again no problem.

On arrival we met someone who had been here 3 times, good news, we went into the marble foyer and were greeted with very good english speaking reception staff. We had requisted a low floor but were put on the 7th but the view from our room was fabulous, the hotel is split into 2 sides so half have the same view as us which is of the pool sea and beach, they offered to change rooms for us the day after but the view was not as good though you could still see the sea so we stayed where we were.

The location was great right on the beach and in the town, there are a few bars and restaurants and a kids area with trampolines slides bumping cars and amusements etc but it is fairly quiet town but looking at the other places on our trips out i wouldnt of wanted to stay anywhere else. Also there is lots going on in the hotel so they have bingo then shows every night some of which are brilliant and the animation team did a brilliant job.

There are 2 pools, kids club is on both morning and afternoon and then games for the adults ie waterpolo killer pool darts etc and water aerobics. There are lots of sunbeds and we never had a problem.

The beach is down a few steps and they have pedaloes for hire we swam in the sea but one day they did have lots of jelly fish but then the next day they were all gone.

I would recommend the sunset trip but you can explore by bus at the end of the road or waterbus which is on the jetty outside the hotel, reception will give you timetables for these. We did the hippy market, packed and hot so didnt stay long and aqua park, beds go early and you have to pay, easier to lay your towel on the grass also take a packed lunch or you will be in a queue for an hour that never goes down but go on bus as trip leaves at 4 we stayed til 6 and went on all the rides without queuing.

Rooms nicely done out but compact especially with extra childs bed in there. Maids 6 days.

Have a great time!

We are a party of 12 and have just come back from 2 weeks at the Playa Dorada in Cala Longa. We ranged in age from 7 to 79!!! We had a fantastic time and could not believe the location of the hotel, right on the most beautiful beach. The hotel was very clean and very well run and the staff went out of their way to help you and always had a cheery smile and "ola". The food was very good, but as im vegetarian the food was not labelled very well so it wasnt always easy to find the meat-free food. This was my only negative as far as the food goes, they were baking bread, croissants etc which was fantastic. The food during the day was served either at the poolside snackbar or at the upstairs snack bar. There was a menu which was slightly more limited at the poolside one, you could get anything from salads and sandwiches to chicken, chop and chips, pizzas etc. This was all waiter service and as we were all inclusive everything was included. The hotels animation team worked very long hours and were always happy. Two people from our party upgraded to a suite when we got there, it was well worth the extra money as you got 2 bedrooms and an actual personal sun terrace which was huge!!! Look out for Delores, Natcho at the upstairs snack bar and Antonio in the reception bar, they were very polite and went out of their way to help you. All in all this was a fantastic holiday and we could have easily stayed longer.

just returned last night, got to tell you if you are staying in this hotel you must remember your alarm clock, if you dont get up before 6am and put your towel on a sunbed you wont get one, even at 6am you will be lucky to get a group of beds together, the lifts are an absolute joke we found it quicker to walk the six floors,
i have kids of my own but it was like a cattle market in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner, kids are supposed to be accompanied by an adult to get their food, it didnt happen, they were charging around whilst you were carring hot food around. the tables are far too close together no room to move. the food was lovely lots to choose from, it was always fresh.

if you go with direct holidays make sure they have given you the correct time for your welcome party, we were told it was 11.30 so we hung around when the time came we went to the venue and told we had missed it, so she just gave me a pile of forms to book trips from, 5 minutes later we were at reception and saw the other holiday makers who came in on our flight having a welcome party!!!! when we questioned this she said well they were a bigger party than you so i did another party. needless to say she didnt get any bookings from me.
Lucy on reception is absolutely brilliant, she is the most welcoming person there, but all staff were great.

Having been to Ibiza twice before holidaying in Es Cana and Playa Den Bossa, I was looking forward to my hol in Cala Llonga. What a disapointment!!

I didnt expect the nightlife to be buzzing, but I would have liked there to be a bit more of an atmosphere. Apart from Mr Cairos the other 3/4 bars were pretty dismal, to say the least. The resort has in my opinion nothing going for it at all!!
Beach was nice, but you could not go into the sea most days because of the Jellyfish. The seaweed close to the shore was a problem too.

The hotel has to be one of the worst ones I have ever had to misfortune to stay in.
The daytime activities which were advertised in the brouchure were more or less non exsistent apart from a daily game of volleyball.

Evening entertainment was even worse. The ";Shows"; started at 10pm then more kiddies entertainment at 11pm, until the show would resume for another 30mins or so.Toddlers running around until midnight.
Food was bad. Never once did we have a hot meal. Dining Room overcrowded and hot.
Room was small and dated. The noise was constant ie doors slamming, kids running around the corridors. Any older people wanting a siesta or an early night, had no chance.

Ibiza is a lovely island. However I would not recommend this resort or this particular hotel.

We've just got back from a brilliant 2 weeks at the Playa Dorada.

This was our fourth time at this hotel and it gets better every time. The food was great, Hotel was spotless, Maid service everyday except mondays. I will say it's much better to go all inclusive especially if you got kids, you can eat and drink as much as you like. The view from the hotel is brilliant. The beach is spotless. This year it was quite bad for jelly fish but we were quite happy to stay round the pool. The hotel staff are fantastic especially all the staff in the entertainment bar Jose and his family treat you like your part of the family and they work such long hours and still have all the time in the world for you. Danny and his team of entertainers were great we had such a good laugh with all of them Matt,Rebecca and Neil work just has hard but have such a great essence about them it was a pleasure.

There is plenty for the kids to do day and night and for the adults if you like joining in with the water games. The Hippy Market in Escana on a wednesday is great. you can get the boat its just outside the hotel There is also a bus stop just down the road from the hotel which will take you anywhere and its much cheaper than the boat. Ibiza town is lovely it can be abit expensive but it is a lovely place with the old and the new town. If your looking for an enjoyable family holiday this is definately the place.

We'll be going back again and again.

just returned from 2 great weeks in Cala Llonga.

We stayed at the 3 star sirenis Playa dorada which is situated right on the beach in an ideal location for all of the bars, shops, etc. Transfer times from the airport of approx 20 mins and an excellant English check-in meant we were off to a great start to our holiday. We had room number 2516 on the sixth floor with a sea view albeit slightly obscured by a couple of trees but we could see enough not for it to spoil the veiw.

The room was well decorated and very clean there were three of us so we had a bed each two singles (spoilsports) and a camp bed for the young un although a good quality one so he had no problems sleeping.Air-con has just been installed and it worked perfectly keeping us nice and cool after the rigours of a day in glorious sunshine. A nice bathroom and ample storage/wardrobes meant we were more than comfortable.

The restaurant was, we felt, a bit of a zoo, no tables are allocated so you could sit where you wanted to, but no matter which way you turned at the buffet there was always someone in front of you or peering over your shoulder to see what was on, add kids running everywhere with their plates of chips and er,no thats right just chips and you get the picture. If you got a table near the windows you had a lovely view but we just wanted to eat and get out as you couldn't relax over your meal. The food was pretty good, typical holiday fare with a carvery every evening the veg however was boiled to death. The meat courses though were very well cooked. If you like deserts you are in the wrong hotel, fresh fruit in abundance for the health concious but the rest were just small squares of cream filled cake, and ice-cream, yeah I know it sounds good but after 14 days it was boring.

The pool area was quite large but once again a sun bed meant an early start typically 6/7 am and I lost count of the times I came back at night and saw people laying towel out at 12/1 am.Am i the only one that remembers throwing towels like that into the pool?

Cala Llonga itself is very low key and family friendly with a small mix of bars. We never ate out so we cant comment on the food but it was typical British holiday fare burgers chips pasta/pizza you get the picture.there were 3 or 4 bars that sold bitter at about 3.70 euro's a pint imported English lager the same price,Guiness was on offer at over 4 euros, San Miguel and the other local stuff was cheaper. We loved the Up and Inn bar very friendly great atmos and from what we saw the food portions were large. mister Cairo's was great, acts on every evening with one game of prize bingo for the girls in the interval good money on offer typically we saw 120/140 euros for the full house so well worth a punt. There was a music quiz before the act the winners got a jug of sangria. It was worth going just to hear the compere very funny like a funnier Graham Norton. If you dont get to see another act whilst in Mister Cairo's you MUST MUST see Diamond Class. They are a comedy drag act and by far and away the best act I have seen for a very long time, my side ached all the way back to the hotel. Dont miss them.

The beach was great, cleaned every morning and evening with fantastic views. Watch out for jellyfish though if swimming they are very prolific and give a nasty sting so be warned.Shopping is very limited you can do the full lot in an hour and they all sell the same thing. For us a week is just about right here we stayed the 14 days and were bored half way through the second week.

We enjoyed it but to be honest we wouldn't go back to Cala llonga we needed just a bit more to do.

Just back from this hotel today and felt I had to write my own views. We found the hotel in a great location.

Excellent maid service, towels changed every day except Mondays. Reception staff very helpful and all spoke English. Pool was always busy but we only used the toddler pool a couple of times, heading for the beach most days. Sunbeds/parasols are 4 euros each, watch out for jelly fish though! The water has been out of bounds for the past few days. Hotel was noisy and walls were thin. We found no problems with the food and there was always something for my 2 kids to eat. Ate in Flippers, which was quite expensive and the bar next door which is very reasonable. I would go back to the resort but as others have said, its small and would think a week would be enough.

Don't be put off by the bad reviews on this hotel, we had no complaints, apart from the lifts, but if you are patient, there's no problems! Holiday is what you make it yourself after all

Got a good deal on this week half board holiday. If we had paid any more we would have been extremely disappointed. The resort itself is beautiful although quiet. You can go to different towns by boat or bus or take a tour by train. We went on boat and train and worth doing. The beach is lovely and very clean. The play areas on the beach are fantastic for families and the few bars and restaurants cater for everyone. We ate mostly at Flippers for lunch and it was great.

The hotel was not so good. It was full when we were there and was extremely noisy especially if you wanted a siesta during the day. As other reviews have said you can hear everything. You can here people in the hall and especially people in the next room. The worst was the bathrooms. If you were in the bathroom the same time as the person in the room next to you, you would think they were in your bathroom too. It was not too bad during the night as most things stopped at midnight.

The food was bad. We have been on several other half board holidays since our we had our daughter as it is handy. This is the worst we have been too and we are not that fussy. The food was cold every night. There was not a great selection and it did not vary. The desserts were the worst, although they tasted nice, it was the same selections of cakes, ice cream and fruit every night. We did not eat out as our daughter loved the mini disco at 8.30 so we just grabbed something quick. The entertainment was good although we did not stay most nights for it all.

If you are looking a relaxing beach holiday this is ideal. If you are looking a decent hotel try somewhere else.

The Sirenis is right next to the bay area of Cala Longa which is lovely. We liked it though not on our first day. The buses from Cala Longa stop at 7.30 so thought we would be restricted as to where we could go but that was not the case at all. Everywhere was relatively near so it was easy to get around the island.
Went to the reps meeting and heard about the trips so we opted to get the buses everywhere. The is a tourist Information kiosk near the bus stop so go there for more info. We went into Ibiza Town when the medieval parades were on so that it even more memorable with the noise and costumes.
There are plenty of walks around the area but take loads of water with you. Ibiza Town is small but easy to walk round as was Santa Eularia and the smaller but rocky beach at Sol de Serre. Portinax was also a good day trip by bus from Ibiza Town.

We opted for half board and found that the food was good, hot and filling with plenty of choice. Don't forget to take some euros with you as the drinks are extra at night. There are plenty of other places to eat in the resort area.
Best bars - La Cantina good company, hosts and lager, Madisons cheers Pepe cold beers, Mayfair best kept lager in the resort. Mister Cairos is okay but get the bottles and it's open later with different shows.
The hotel staff were great with thei friendliness, local knowledge and maps. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We didn't really stay in the hotel at night so I don't know what their shows were like.

The best thing though was that it was not just an area for Brits so we heard lots of other tourists. We thought there would not be enough to do for two weeks - two weeks was not enough! We would go back.
