This hotel is new to all inclusive and I dont think they understand food variety as it was very much the same thing every day. We had young infants with us so food was not good for them. The kids pool is wicked for kids and ours loved it and with the beach right out side we had lots to do. The staff were friendly. Rooms were nice and had plenty of room. entertainment so poor it started really late and by the time the good stuff did start the little ones were asleep.

The apartments were of better standard than they have been. We have been many times over the last 20 years and this was the first time there was no entertainment at all.

The apartments are ok. They were acceptable cleanliness and the maid emptied the bin everyday and cleaned twice during the week. The location is right near the beach and the available pools were ok. Reception is helpful and the bar ok. The restaurant is ok if you like snack bar food i.e. chips etc

the apartments were ok when we arrived, but as the holiday progressed we noticed that our apartment was not being cleaned, the only thing that was done was the bins were emptied daily, and we were supplied with toilet rolls we even had to put the clean sheets on the beds.the ceiling fan was covered in dust, probably had nt been cleaned since it was fitted.nothing was cleaned all the rwo weeks we were there.

This is a small very quiet resort. No nightlife apart from entertainment provided by hotels/apartments. The beach and surrounding area is very pretty as is apartment garden. Beach is just beside apartments. The accommodation is adequate -quite spacious and well designed but has got a bit rickety. Fairly clean, kitchen and bathroom needed a quick going over. Sheets and towels clean, as were mattresses and pillows.

We were impressed by entertainment provided for children. The young entertainers put their heart and soul into daytime activities and early evening entertainment for the kids. All the kids joined in. Jordan was very talented and I'm sure he will go on to bigger and better things. A great lad. Restaurants were fine. We used the 'fish restaurant' beside the apartments and found a local restaurant just beside Friar Tucks which was good and played great music. Very friendly and helpful owners. Fishing off the rocks with cheap telescopic rods. Very soothing mini train trip for 3 hours costing 6 euros. We found it restful, relaxing and good value for money. We found the staff very pleasant.

PS bring insect spray, something bites possibly midges.

I went here with my wife, two little girls and my parents. We had a good holiday the resort itself is very quiet and there's not a lot to do but there is a good local bus service to get you about. The appartments were very clean and the entertainment was good, the childrens entertainment was great they were kept busy all day long and my girls didn't want to come home after 2 weeks here. The appartments are right on the beach and the happy friar english pub is deffinately reccommented for great food and drink.

I will be back here again sometime its good for young family's but not if your after a lively holiday.

Apartment was clean but basic,
Beach Lovely and clean, but a little windy.
Not many bars - restaurants in the resort, to be honest not much to do at all in the resort.
We went out on trips a few days which we booked through the Excursion shop on the main road, went to San Antonio one night to watch the sunset which was amazing, then a full day trip to Santa Eulalaia (think that's how you spell it) and the Hippy Market, (spent a fortune on shoes)
Overall had a nice chilled out week away, but good to get home to my little one!
Would go back again.

We went to this resort as a cheap Autumn holiday with a group of friends (ten in party altogether) and I was pleasantly surprised considering some of the reports seen here.

I would agree that the hotel is only basic and the pool and rooms could definitely have been cleaner but as for the staff, i thought they were excellent - friendly and helpful. The entertainer Laura was absolutely fantastic and made the holiday. Kids and adults alike loved her enthusiasm and were we more than willing to make the most of our week. There are not many eating options but the fish restuarant next door is excellent and the chinese down the road is good (despite the portions being a bit on the small side!).
There is an all inclusive restuarant across the road that allows you to pay 12 euros for adults and 7 euros for children to eat in the all-you-can-eat restuarant. Great value for money!!

Not too much to do in the resort itself. Beach literally 30 seconds away and a nice sunbathing area and pool just behind the complex. Buses run to Ibiza town and Es Cana most days so there is the chance to get out and about and at only 2-3 euros each, well worth it.

Overall a nice holiday. Yes it is basic and yes there isn't a lot to do but a holiday is what you make it and if you are prepared to take part in the entertainment and enjoy a few beers on the balcony at night then all in all a nice place to visit. I would be quite happy to go again, albeit, probably not for any longer than a week.

We have just returned from a week at the Torremar (Oct 15th - 22nd), and a week was enough.

The resort itself is nice, but extremely quiet. We had a very relaxing time but we were lucky that the sun was shining all week. If not we would have been in big trouble.

The kids got to spend all day in the swimming pool, which was a god send as there was not anything else to do.

We did visit the caves, but you are in and out in 20 minutes.

If you are planning a trip here and you are going for more than a week, I would advise that you hire a car to visit other places while you are there. The local buses are not great and the taxi drivers charge a few bob too much to take you anywhere.

It wasn't the cleanest of places to stay, the whole time we were there no one ever seen the swimming pools getting cleaned and we also struggled to find a decent place to eat.

The Balansat fish restaurant doesn't do kids meals and the chinese wasn't the best either.
We did have a good meal at the Happy Friars and the owner Toby was a laugh.

All in all, this is not a place I would recommend or visit again.

This was a pleasant holiday , the hotel staff were great and the beach was lovely , especially feeding the fish around my knees .The food was a bit dull , something and chips was the main.

My wife loved the night life but i found it to be a bit too much like Butlins Kidsclub but better than the other thompson hotel across the beach which has to say everything in 3 languages making a game of bingo last 2 hours.

If you want a really quiet holiday and lots of sun , its great .But if your like me and like to get about its just too quiet, however saying that we are coming back this year , this time with our young daughter because i cant think of a safer place to keep an eye on a 2 year old.
Good job i like chips with everything lol.

I must recommend the happy friars food though, nice sunday lunch but book in advance.Very nice staff too, and Caffreys on draught .

The hotel was basic but clean ,david the dutch entertainmeny manager was unique, a really fun guy who was full of energy from sunrise till the early hours , i dont know how he did it 7 days a week.
Jason and romina in the restarant bar were great also and we still keep in touch with romina.

A warning for parents with teenage girls though, you get the local lads from ibiza coming down on their mopeds and trying to pick up the girls in the hotels, something the hotel security should look into , not so much a problem at the balanzat but the san miguel beach club , which has the main thompson entertainment is rife with them and they dont care about how young they are.
Also the Balanzat pool gets invaded by spanish children every weekend and they can get a bit boisterous .
Watersports are good and reasonably priced, food was reasonably priced but the beer was expensive , even for the local brands .

The apartments are right on the beach which is nice, the beach is small and there is a problem with jelly fish, people were getting stung alot. The pool is nice but not always cleaned and the baby pool was on days 'disgusting'. The staff were unhelpful and bordering rude. Food at the poolside bar was quite poor but the breakfast wasn't too bad. The apartments were very basic but liveable for a week, beds very hard. It is a very quiet resort with only a handful of restaurants, 2 supermarkets and 3 or 4 aparmtment/hotels. We made the most of it and enjoyed it but that was largely down to the weather and my son making friends.

I would not recommend this resort or accomodation, if you preferred somewhere quite there are better places to go and if you like a bit of life and entertainment definately, don't go!

This resort is probably the worst we have been to in Ibiza. Weather was good though.

Having looked at reviews on other sites we thought the worst we could expect was jellyfish. Taking medical precautions though, we saw none.

Appartments were dreadful. Appreciated they were going to be basic, however we at least expected the shower not to flood the bathroom. Our toilet broke, we had a 4 inch by 4 inch gash in our wardrobe, which wouldnt close, 3 of the four beds were comfortable, the other gave chronic back pain, and if you want to use the TV that the brochure offers, you have to pay 12 euros for the pleasure.

On our second week, we experienced two mornings of no water, not good when you need to flush the loo.

Entertainment is dreadful. Whoever employed the hosts must have had their eyes and ears painted on. Talentless, evenings with little planning or enthusiasm. We could hear the roars of enthusiasm from the all inclusive site across the road, so we went there instead.

Shops are great if you like crusty bread, odd shaped fruit and veg and tinned stuff. Not great for kids. All very expensive aswell. Take your own coffee, tea, sugar, salt, ketchup etc. The appartment fridges have no proper freezer compartment either.

Pools were smaller than seemed from website and also were only cleaned once during our two week stay. Also someone was sick and the ";handyman"; mopped it into the pool.

Sunbeds are uncomfortable and a lot are broken, this may have been due to the handyman's expert way of chucking them in a pile at the end of the day.

When visiting the reception to let them know our problems; if the Thomsons rep was around, she would bid a hasty retreat so to avoid confrontation. When we spoke to our 24 hour hotline, they seemed rather dismissive and disinterested in our problems.

Over the years we have holiday'd with many an operator to many a destination, and rarely complain, however this is the most awful place we have ever been to. Kids are mostly easily pleased, but even ours could find fault in most aspects of the area.

Apart from that, we had a great time, as long as you dont want to enter your appartment much and happily accept a sore throat after frequenting the pool, like chips and basic food then this is the holiday for you.

Enjoy

We stayed half board at the Balsanat Apartments. The stench from the room on arrival was unbearable. You could smell it prior to opening the door. It was impossible to sleep in the lounge due to the smell as it had made me physically sick. The bathroom had a hole in the ceiling which poured water and plasterboard verey time the upstairs occupants had a shower. The bottom of the bathroom door was completely rotten and the whole room smelt of damp and sewerage. We had emailed in advance to request a second floor sea view room but when we asked to be moved we mentioned our email and was told that emails are ignored unless you book your holiday through them. We were unable to shower for 5 days for fear of the bathroom ceiling collapsing. On the 5th day the rep eventually moved us having forced her to view the room.

The maids emptied the bins daily but that was it. the floors and toilets were never cleaned as this was up to us to do. Even the change of linen for the beds was just put on the end of the beds for us to make up.
the half board was taken in the joining restraunt. However we were made to sit in the back and had our own scrawled hand written menu which had every evening the following: starters, tomato soup, vegetable soup, and one other dish. mains, spaghetti with bolognese or cheese, a fish dish and a meat dish, dessert: ice cream, fruit, lemon sorbet and one other dish. The pools were filthy having never been cleaned once during our stay. We used the other hotels swimming pools which were warmer had more shallow areas and 100% cleaner. You can use their restaurant buffet for 12 euros (worth every penny)

This could have been a beautiful quiet resort but the beach was spoilt by huge numbers of cigarette ends lining the sea edge. The reosrt can be covered in less than 10 minutes 5 minutes there and five minutes back. No water sports were available as it was too windy so it meant there was nothing to do. You do not have to pay the tour company's prices for trips as there is a fantastic small english run trip office next to the bureau de change. The guy who runs it took us in his own peole carrier for the duration of our trip to Es Cana. He was friendly, a good driver and very reasonably priced.

My Husband and myself have just returned form a week in the Torremar Apartments Puerto De San Miguel. I would not recommend them to anyone. Our Appartment was badly in need of an upgrade: The bath was surrounded by Rust, Toilet broken of hinges and rusted, visible signs of Cigaretes having been stubbed out on TOilet Seat. Fron of Fridge Rusted, Stainless Steel on sink wearing away. Gas cooker door of which would not close and was never used but there was always a smell of Gas in our room.

The Market in San Miguel on A Thursday Evening very disappointing arrived @ 6.05Pm and got taxi back to resort @ 6.15pm as did several other people who were on the same bus. only has about 10 stall and most of them costume Jewellery.

We would definitely recommend the Port Ballanst Restaurant unlike other reviews we thought it was quite reasonably priced and the meals were excellent.
The Beach is very goof for children as there are no rocks at the waters edge.
I would also recommend going on the minature train which departs from Puerto De San Migeul 3 times a week and takes you through other little villages and stops in
Portranx for a while.
