"Del Mar"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Really cheap holiday with club 18-30 but as it was end of season not everything was open, but we knew that and didn't care. the apartments were fine, but 18-30 kept giving us the hard sell and wouldn't leave us alone, which puts us off booking with them again. we are capable of going to our own bars! They just went to the same places or worse, but charge twice as much for the privilege!

"poor hotel!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The reps are friendly and were willing to help. We were a party of 6 and all had trouble with our rooms, from the unbearable smell of sewage in our rooms, to broken toilets, freezing cold showers, doors that didnt lock as well as patio doors (this wasnt a main problem for us as we were on the top floor). The owner of the hotel is English, he never wanted to know about our problems and was rude. Doors were kicked in, graffti everywhere, so so dirty. Rooms had one visit from the maids in the week we stayed there, and i dont even know what they actually did apart from change the towels, of which were dirty and had holes in!! The swimming pool had furniture in it as well as broken glass. The hotel was a total joke, I cant belive we all survived! We had heard there was theving within the hotel, but none of u experienced this. On a more positive side, the hotel is in a great location. 2 mins from the town and beach. If your are staying here just be careful, we all still had a great time despite the appauling hotel!

"Not bad actually!!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
I read lots of really bad reviews on this hotel after I had booked it so was expecting the worst. But to be honest I don't think it was that bad at all!! Ok the shower went really cold on the last day but was fine all the other days. And the toilet wouldn't flush one morning so we went out in the day and got back to see it still hadn't been fixed so complained again and it was sorted within half hour. Also the maids did come in when we were sleeping but that was 11 in the morning and we always had clean towels. But the receptionist ladies who were foreign were friendly and were helpful when I pushed my glasses over the balcony and opened all the rooms below to help me find them! The man on duty at night time was also friendly and helpful. He seemed to think people were lying about their rooms getting broken in to so they could claim to get money. Our room didn't get broken into once. Neither did our safety deposit box where we kept our passports. It was quite noisy but what do you expect from an 18-30 hotel. Oh and there wasn't much room by the side of the pool only about 9 loungers. The location was really good, a 2 minute walk from the shop and 5 min max walk from the West end. So you get what you pay for. It is a budget 18-30 hotel so you can't really expect it to be brilliant!

Overall Hotel Rating:
What can i say, this hotel is a s*** hole. i feel sorry for people who have booked up for here. Before i went to this hotel last year i sent thomsons an email telling them about the reviews on this web site and others and they said that they were mostly lies and people were over reacting so we went anyway. The hotel is black, the rooms are shocking, and it stinks of s*** for some reason.
I walked into my room one day to fined the receptionist looking from my stuff. His excuse was he was here to look at the balconey. My room didnt even have since it was on the bottom floor. i got my ipod, digital camera and my mobile phone stolen. The Thomsons reps the next day didnt give a f***.
All i can say is that its a below average club 18-30 hotel with staff members as thieving c****. The only good think about it is the location and the fact i seen somebody fishing in the swimming pool for sharks at 6 in the morning
If you have been unlucky enough to booked this hotel you will know what i mean when you get there and try not to catch MRSA from the s*** hole.

Overall Hotel Rating:
This is by far the worst accomodation I have ever stayed in my life! The place smells of raw sewage, most of the doors have marks on them where people have tried to kick the doors in. The reception were very unfriendly and unhelpful and couldnt understand basic english half of the time.
We nearly had our door kicked in the first night and could not sleep as the noise was unbearable! We also had our room burgled on the 3rd night and my friends mobile was stolen and they'd left the door wide open. They got in through the balcony, even tho the patio doors were locked!
One day when I was trying to get to sleep the maids came in to clean, and unlocked our patio door, and when they left they didnt lock it again! We heard our guests saying their door was kicked in and had to pay 100 euro to get it repaired even tho it wasnt their fault and they had loads of things stolen. The pool was closed for the first 2 days as someone had split open their head! The whole place was so dirty and the smell nearly made us vomit!
This will go down in history as the worst place I have stayed in my life! DO NOT stay here, seriously, it is so dangerous, and so dirty!
None of the reps or staff gave a damn about us, they just didnt want to know!

Overall Hotel Rating:
i stayed here 5 years ago and didnt have a problem i thought it was great , so i decided to ignore recent reviews and book this hotel again. how wrong i was !
first of all the pool was closed for 3 days of our holiday, then our shower in our room had no cold water at all just the hot and it was scalding to hot to shower in. our patio doors were broken and did not lock properly, the little 2 ring cooker was broken so no food could be cooked in our room, and last but not least our room got robbed ! not just ours 5 peoples rooms robbed in just 6 days . this can only be down to staff as no forced entry was visible in any of the rooms who were broken into . we only got 50 euros and a watch stolen but thats beside the point .yes there was saftey deposit boxes but they to were being broken into because they were kept in reception so it catch 22. others had camaras, money , cheques , and a passport stolen!
every problem we experienced was reported to our reception and our reps. nothing was ever done about it , the reps moved 2 rooms who got broken into to a differebt hotel so we asked to be moved aswell and were ignored. please dont make the same mistake as me. do not stay here at all . and just before i leave i think i should point out the fact that 18 months ago a young lad died in this hotel under suspicious surcomstances . and murder has not been ruled out !!! do not stay here ever the worst hotel i have ever stayed in . stu , newcastle

Overall Hotel Rating:
Firstly the apartments - Don't even think about staying here. We arrived expecting a basic but clean room and were disappointed. The room was relatively spacious but the toilet was leaking (waste water) all over the bathroom floor. The shower didn't work properly and fluctuated dramatically between scalding hot and freezing cold (very dangerous).
On the second from last day of our stay, our room was robbed by what could have only been the maids (the door was locked prior to us going out, and was locked on our return). Two mobiles and a five pound note were stolen. Reception didn't want to know, didn't offer an apology and gave us wrong directions to the Guardia Civil, resulting in about a five mile walk in sweltering heat! Someone else had their Playstation stolen. Yes the place does have deposit boxes but this is besides the point - my mobile was hidden underneath cutlery in the drawer and my girlfriends was in her bag (zipped up), so the room must have been well and truly turned over!
The resort itself? Absolutely fantastic. No complaints whatsoever! The only slight gripe was it was difficult to find an English Breakfast if you get up on the afternoon! (Try the Village pub in the West End - although they stop serving food at 3pm).
West End is absolutely fantastic - 'YES' the drinks are pricey but just watch how much spirit they put in the glass, let's just say they're not short measures!
Went to Es Paradis (Fiesta Del Agua) which was amazing. Great club, great music, great drinks measures. Eden was a let down - we were promised all kinds of guest appearances and were treated to someone acting like a complete t***er all night! Plus the club is not very different to what you'd expect in Britain.
Beach is brilliant, gentle slope and clean water. Hire a 'Fun Boat' (a plastic dinghy with an outboard motor) only 55 Euros for 2 hours - head for the wakes of the big boats if you need some white water!!!
Booze Cruise (18-30) is a must, loads of free drink or you can buy from the bar - again very large measures. 25 Euros and it really does set you up for the night!! Amazing sunsets and great people. Will defo be back to San An but will steer well clear of the Del Mar 2.

Overall Hotel Rating:
Firstly - the apartment -
Dont even think about this place, we knew it would be basic but on the second day after we arrived we were shocked to discover one of the reception staff searching through someones safety deposit box. We subsequently kept all our belongings hidden in our room including cash and mobiles. On the third day our room was robbed( all doors were locked when we left and still locked when we came back)they must of had a key. Our padlocked suitcases were forced open and the money stolen. Reception did nt want to know and the reps who were of no help at all gave us wrong directions to the police station. Besides this the shower did not work properly and there was no cold water at all. In the morning we were woken by a disgusting smell from the drains.
the resort - San Antonio is by far the best place to party, both the west end and the clubs suit everyones tastes. Some amazing nights like the water party and judgement sunday or you can take advantage of the drinks offers in the west end.
the beach - the beach was not far away and generally clean. The water is clean and clear although watch out for the jelly fish!!!
Booze cruises and sunset cruises are a must. If your not keen on boats then head to cafe Mambo or Del Mar and watch the sunset from there... its anamazing atmosphere and you meet loads of great people....
Will definately go back to San Antonio soon but will never stay in the Del Mar ever again!!!!!!

Overall Hotel Rating:
Me and my friend stayed at del mar, and after reading the other comments about it, im glad were not the only ones. soon as we arrived the lights didnt work, and the window wouldnt shut. we were on the 1st floor, and anyone could climb through it, so i had to stay in the room until someone would fix it. we had our rooms 'cleaned' probably twice in the entire week we was there. i remember counting my money from the safe (which is next to reception) and thinking, where has all my money gone?i then saw two lads in the hotel, who came upto me and said, we think weve had money robbed out of our safe. so me and my friend counted our money, and realised 100-150 euros from my money, and about 300 euros from my friends had been took.we hid it in our cases in our room.when i mentioned it to the man at reception, he was defensive and made it out as if we were lying. they also lost our room key, and made us pay 40 euro 2 get a spare 1, even though we handed it in 2 them, so THEY lost it. we argued so much that we didnt have to pay.
our air conditioning broke, and i had 10 euros pinched out of my draw whilst i went for a meal.the pool was shut off because some1 through glass in ther.it was meant 2 have been cleaned, until ppl jumped in and cut their feet.some1 crpped outside their room, and it wasnt cleaned for 3 days!!do NOT go,its like holidays from hell!
san antonio itself is amazing.the places 2 eat are great, and the west end and main clubs are great, just a bit pricey.its worth going, but not 2 there.
