The food was good but being a vegetarian I found that I began to live on salads (lots of variety for meat eaters!) If you have young children and expect entertainment for them, this hotel is maybe not for you.
Would recommend this hotel to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

A bit apprehensive as we had never stayed in the centre of any resort always chosen the outskirts. We were pleasantly surprised even though it was pouring with rain when we arrived and at least 10 degrees cooler than the UK. The hotel had obviously undergone a refurb and was brand spanking new, the only downside to this was the beds which were rock hard and I'm sure the pillows contained bricks. Anyway, you don't come on holiday to sleep ! The restaurant and bar were first class and I must say in all our years of travelling to many locations around the world, this is the only hotel were we have stayed in where the bar is actually cheaper than the bars outside. The food in the restaurant was first class, albeit a little repetitive the quality and cooking was first class. The pool was a bit disappointing, badly positioned with the sun only coming round later in the day ~ that's if you're lucky enough to grab a sunbed from the usual hoarders who never seem to leave the hotel. The harbour is really pretty, but avoid the bar on the corner, cannot recall the name who have "live" (if you can call it that) music - its next to Bar Donna-Mar. What a rip off ! Drinks double the price and the "live acts" rubbish. The beach is nice, the better bay being a 10 minute walk around where there are umbrellas and beds a-plenty at a reasonable charge. Evenings a bit quiet and not much going on except for a quiet drink in a one of the many bars. Please, please treat yourself and go to Bambuddha Grove, a Thai Restaurant up in the hills. A taxi ride away but well worth the effort, it will blow your mind and not that expensive. A great evening out with great atmosphere, Things to avoid : Portanax (Southend-on-Sea on a bad day), Shoe shops (millions of them);the bus terminal (a nightmare), and the restaurant close to where the water taxis dock (stinks of seaweed). We really enjoyed ourselves, although 2 weeks was probably too long. A week to ten days max would have been good.

This hotel is excellent for couples in particular. Does not really cater for children which suited us perfectly. Always able to obtain sunbeds and parasols and enjoy a good swim in the pool which was usually fairly quiet. Most just went in for a quick dip to cool down.Hotel provides pool towel service which you can change as often as you like.
Restaurant is excellent. Brilliant buffet selection for both breakfast and evening meal.Hardest thing was deciding want to have there was so much choice! All staff could not have been more friendly or helpful.
Excellent location in town centre but handy for promenade and did not encounter any noise.
Would recommend this for couples of our ages.
Only petty complaint was we would have preferred tiles in the bedroom rather than carpet and air conditioning in lounges and reception was a bit too fierce at night. Had to go outside to warm up!
Anyone booking this hotel will not be disappointed.
