La Palma Princess and Hotel Teneguia are the same place, when being built they had to call it two names and say it was seperate hotels to get planning permission because it is that big! We just come back from a week there and it is total bliss, I think two weeks would be too long! Food - well you couldn't ask for more, they had so much on for breakfast you would need two weeks there to have it all and meals at night were great too. Different every night, sometimes themed food eg. Italian, Sunday dinner!! Lots of choice, our fav was the joints of meat cut fresh in front of you and nice big portions too. Very good for fish lovers lots of different types every night. As much tea, coffe and orange juice with breakfast as you want and breakfast could be eaten by the pool if you fancied a late one. Entertainment - Crap...lol they had a different show on every night but they were pretty rubbish other than that they had some singers on in the piano bar which were ok for first three nights. Could of done with more than the 3 bars they have there, pool ones only open by day. Rooms - Massive, big walk in showers, massive bed and large balconies!
Apart from hotel not much to see, if you wanted to walk to nearest village would take about 3hrs there, theres a beach about 30 mins walk but black sand and rough sea. We hired a car and drove round, very easy to drive there, everwhere signposted well. Lik...

We have just returned from a week at the Hotel Teneguia Princess. The food was not to a good standard, limited choice especially at breakfast. This hotel is spread over 8 acres so is not for anyone with limited mobility. The layout is very haphazard and difficult to negotiate. The location is very remote and we feel a that a car is essential. The staff generally speak very little English which can cause problems when ordering meals at lunch time. The reception staff speak English. This Hotel is very biased toward Spanish people and it appears that they monopolise all the sea view rooms. The entertainment was very, very poor indeed. During the week we were there a large number of unescorted Spanish children descended on the Hotel for 3 days and things became absolutely chaotic especially at the evening buffet. We would certainly never go to this Hotel again and do not think it deserves the Thomson Platinum status.

The first thing you notice about La Palma is the island is nothing like any of the other canaries. It isn't commercialised if you want exciting nightlife or lots of shops this is not the place if you are interested in banana plants then this is the place!
The transfer from the airport to this hotel is a nightmare for anyone suffering from car/bus sickness, it is VERY twisty but the view of the hotel from the top of the hotel is great!
The hotel itself is lovely, very spacious and clean.
We were the only English people there as it is mainly German and Spanish holiday makers. The language barrier was a problem at times, but we are lucky enough to speak German! The pools are fabulous there is a heated outdoor pool which could have been a few degrees warmer, but no complaints from our daughter who spent most of the day in it! The weather for April was really warm (30 - 35 degrees) and we even managed to get a bit sun burnt-well we have to we're British!!
The food at the hotel is really nice, lots of choice and plenty of it and there was lots of room and none of the usual mad rush at breakfast.
There is so much about the hotel that is fantastic indoor pool, jacuzzi, massage we could go on.......but we do have a little gripe.
The Kids Club - there were a couple of excellent animation members, but they didin't encourage any of the quieter children to join which for us was a disappointment as our daughter was surgically attached to our side for the whole week!
The shows in the evening were ok, but very much the same thing - acrobats!
This was perfect for a weeks break to recharge your batteries after winter and for that we would recommend it, but for a summer holiday I am not sure how they would cope with lots more people.
