Nice place in Spain. As far as beaches go one of the best!

Good group of people around the area. Try and stay close to the hotels because it's generally a nicer group of tourists around. You can try and stray up the coast a little to find a quieter spot to lie in the sun. However, if you're feeling a bit hungover or if it's just too hot, then I would definitely suggest just lying by the pool.

Lovelly resort with plenty of good quality restaurants, bars and shops. several excurssions out to the volcanos, etc.

Definately visit the old town if only to smaple the delights of some of the fish restaurants, delicious!

Lovely soft yellow sandy beach, just be aware of the winds, we only stayed on the beach for about 15 minutes for the children to have a swim in the sea and caught the sun badly. Lovely little shopping mall but beware of the shop owners trying to pull you into their shops by grabbing your arm. Nice perfume shop, plenty of supermarkets close to hand if you are self catering.

Matagorda is just beautiful, very pretty and the beaches are really gorgeous too. I think that this would be a perfect and inexpensive place to go for your honeymoon as it is very secluded, private and relaxing - perfect for anyone looking a nice break away from it all. The weather was very nice in Matagorda, not too hot to be uncomfortable but nice and warm enough to lie out in and get a tan too. There are lots of places to eat out at in Matagorda which is good and the cost of food and drink isnt too bad either. You can go out for a nice meal for a few nights and it isnt going to cost you the earth either. There are lots of things to see and do in Matagorda although the shopping wasnt really that good to be honest. I would return for a nice relazing week or two as I really enjoyed myself.

the resort is very clean and tidy with an excellent promanade which you can walk for miles along the sea front with shops bars and resturants along the way. very clean beaches.

the resort unspoilt and clean beaches very nice and loads of things for the children to do .they have some great boat trips that takes you to beautiful beaches. some very nice restaurants. very friendly and helpful people.

nice flat walk.. shops and a small beach.. nice market on sat and wen for you to get all your holiday gifts..

We only left the hotel for a short walk and the smell of drains sent us straight back to the hotel. We didn't eat away from the hotel so I can not judge was was available outside the hotel

playa blanca is nice and clean with plenty of shops and restaurants. has a nice beach. would recommend this as an excursion

If you want a holiday where you just stay in resort, go somewhere else. Really you could be anywhere. You need to get out and see Lanzarote to appreciate its beauty. Matagorda is at the end of the runway for Arrecife airport. Literally. The high spot for us was hiring bikes, only 10euros for 24 hours, and there is cycle path right from Puerto del Carmen to Arrecife. There is a commercial centre with bars restaurants and a Spar, a lovely beach, and a great promenade with fixed gym equipment, which I've never seen before! There's not much else in Matagorda. I tell you what though, if I could open a beach bar or cafe right at the end of the runway I'd make a killing, there were loads of people just sitting watching planes, binoculars and notepads in hand, but nowhere for them to get comfy!

Was expecting it to be a lot livelier especially being July. Even quiet on the world cup final night. Really good restaurants. Weather can be a bit dodgey.

I walked into Playa Blanca 3 times and I liked it. The beach it good but please bare in mind that the waves suddenly get quite high when the ferrys are pulling into harbour.

Very small in terms of bars/restaurants with one small square being the main aspect of it all, but do not be deterred - what remains is a beautiful and peaceful resort that must be seen to be believed. Be sure to book trips with your rep as you will see some great sights.

Unwinding doesn’t come easier than at the Las Vegas Golf Hotel. Each of the self-catering bungalows has a traditional Spanish vibe with whitewashed exteriors and terraces that are just right for a spot of al fresco dining. Outside, the main draw is the swimming pool. It’s a peaceful and serene area that’s surrounded by palms and sunbeds, so finding a spot to relax is a real doddle. Plus you’ve got a poolside bar for when you feel parched. Children will also have a ball in their own pool. Location-wise, it’s within putting distance of a golf course and just moments from a tennis club. For the adrenaline junkies, meanwhile, there are plenty of watersports available at the beach in Maspalomas.

Puerto Calero is very small. It's a smart place - with lots of nice yachts around and upmarket shops - but quite quiet. Not a place for clubbing or bars. There are some decent restaurants on the strip facing the marina - including one fantastic curry house! And the landscape around it is quite dramatic, so some nice walks to be had along the coastline, if you fancy that. But if you're looking for nightlife, don't go there. It's laid back, quiet, cut off (nearest bigger town is about 10-15 minutes in a taxi) and there's nothing 'cultural' going on there. That suited us fine - we just wanted somewhere sunny to chill out - but if you need your holidays to be more active, it might not be for you.
