this resort is quiet. beach realy lovely. a few bars and a couple ot shops. promanade realy good. had a slow walk right along to port del carmen, took us a hour. also walked the other way and ended up right by the airport. was so close to the planes landing and taking off. very clean area. it is mainly for couples wanting a relaxing time, although not far to port del carmen for much more going on.would go back some time soon.

Puerto Del Carmen review
"Very Enjoyable Resort"
resort to a friend
Enjoyed the resort for a winter break...there are better places to go during the summer for good weather...Nightlife mainly Irish or English bars with live music but oK for a week in the sun. Food was good quality but not always cheap and cheerful. You get what you pay for. Restaurants are nicer in the old town than the new town.

Costa Teguise review
"Good for all ages and couples as well as"
resort to a friend
In my opinion the resort is suitable for all ages . There was plenty to see and do in a week. we used local buses to go to Teguise. 1.15 euro per trip.beware french restaurants. over priced , pretentious and totally lacking in taste. If you diont want to eat beef burgers and chips etc go for genuine tapas. We thoroughly enjoyed Bar La replublika on the Road Islas Canarias next to an Indian. No menu you just go inside and choose what you want. A meal for 2 with wine will only set you back 20-30 euros.

Playa Blanca review
"A great family resort"
resort to a friend
Lanzarote is a very small island so if you have a car you can see all there is to see on the island in a week. There is not a huge amount to see as this is mainly a beach and pool sort of place. However the volcanic Park Timanfaya National park is a must-see with 50 km² of Volcanic Landscape and Craters, as well as the 'El Diablo' Restaurant. El Golfo is a volcanic crater filled by sea water which is a deep green colour is caused by algae in the water and is very close to Playa Blanca. we also visited two places where the artist Cesar Manrique had designed first, the Jameos del Agua which is a cave complex that includes a natural Concert Hall subterranean lagoon, a restaurant and a museum and secondly the Cesar Manrique Foundation which was his house originally and now an art gallery .
Playa Blanca has so many restaurants and a lovely market on Wednesday and Saturday which was fun.
This is a great place for all really as it offers different things to different age groups. There were a lot of older people as well as young families with pre-school children but we were out of school holidays so that does not mean older children and even teens would not be happy here too.
we are a mature couple but we were with our daughter, her husband and young baby.

My wife and I like Costa Teguise, this is the fifth year in a row we have visited. Very nice beach, some lovely restaurants and it is a reasonably upmarket place, not so full of the tack you find in other resorts.

A lovely clean well looked after resort been before and would definitely go again. A big choice of restaurants and bars you feel completely safe. A mix of families, young couples and retired people. It's very flat for walking and you can walk along the beach front or in the town. A lot of places to eat which are very reasonably priced.

Costa Teguise is a really nice resort, plenty to do. Some really lovely walks available nearby too. There are plenty of good bars and restaurants, and some good shops. The beach and coastline around there are really nice.
As we were all inclusive we didnt eat out, but it looks reasonably cheap.
We didn't hear or see much nightlife.
The beaches are okay, their are a couple of coves that have been cordened off so you can swim easily.

Matagorda review
"A plane spotter's paradise"
resort to a friend
Matagorda is in the wider area of Puerto del Carmen on the edge of Arrecife Airport. It has a couple of commercial centres with pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and arcades, numerous hotels and appartment complexes and a very well maintained beach and seafront. Matagorda is in a beautiful setting with the coastline on one side and the backdrop of volcanoes on the other..... and the airport on the other!
Had my 2-year old not been totally mesmerised by the sight of the planes flying just a few hundred feet above his head, providing great entertainment for him and therefore a more relaxing, tantrum-free(ish) holiday for us, I can see how the sound of the planes may not be quite so welcome to other holiday makers.
However, despite the planes, Matagorda is quite a peaceful resort. It doesn't have huge numbers of bars, restaurants and clubs but it has sufficient to eat/drink somewhere different every evening of a two week holiday. It is also only a very short taxi ride from the rather more lively main strip of Puerto del Carmen.
Matagorda is very well placed for excursions to the rest of the island, particularly if you have a hire car and the hotels generally seemed to offer organised excursions by bus to most places.
On the whole, I would recommend Matagorda to anyone wanting a fairly peaceful holiday (save for the planes) who perhaps enjoys walking and a slower pace of life. It is not, in my view, the best resort for younger children or young adults as the entertainment is perhaps lacking for both of those groups.

Lovely along the seafront - full of quaint bars and restaurants. If you can find a sandy beach they are very clean and not shingly. Most areas are rocky though - fine for fishing!
Very nice shops, and a superb market next to the harbour.
Can be expensive but I guess you have to pay for temperatures of 21 degrees in February...
Unfortunately we only had one full day of sun during the week, and were caught in storms flying out of Arrecife...not for the faint hearted - but I think this is a fairly unusual event.
