stayed 14-21 November 2013.hotel and complex very good.apartments brilliant-huge.staff and maids very good and very friendly. Thats where it ends.the restaurant food was awful.evening meal choice was very poor, the quality was poor.they could not keep the food warm never mind hot.we ended up eating out for 3 nights out of 7.The breakfasts were slightly better but again warm to tepid. Our advice to anyone staying there is GO SELF-CATERING.as the complex is lovely but food a big let down. John and Margaret-Washington,Tyne and Wear

Place is nice and clean. Cleaners dont work on Sundays and Mondays so dont drop your towels on the floor that days There is only 3 English channels to watch and they seem to change every day. Free Wi Fi at the pool bar and bowling club. They seem to have some entertainments on - we saw some magician one night and it was pretty impresive Tennis courts are slightly different from the usual ones but we found them great. The only one thing that is maybe worth mentioning is that our room was located close to the road and we could hear cars passing by

Weve just returned home from Santa Rosa at the weekend. We loved it. We went with low expectations as the holiday didnt cost that much but we were very pleasantly surprised. We booked one week, half board and we were allocated a 2 bedroom self catering bungalow,(1048) which was great as we bought food and drinks for lunches and snacks. The bungalow was spotless and very roomy. We had a maid service, towells and bedding changed 5 times in the week. The location was good, about a 15 minute walk from the centre but there is bars/restaurants and supermarkets right outside. The food was spot on, good selection each night and all nice and hot. There was a kids soft play area and small bouncy castle near the pool and a big indoor play area with a ball pool in the bowling centre attached to the hotel - no charge for guests. We spent each night in the bar "La Luna", which was great. The bar man (manager) Mario was fantastic - and were sure he gave away more than he sold! :) Also free Wifi in the bar

Rooms excellent and well maintained. Beds made everyday and clean towels every other. Good sized rooms and plenty of fresh water for bathing etc.. Good size balconies and some small villas are just superb. Close but private and independent from your neighbour. Food was good with selection varied and accommodated everybody. Pool area clean and plenty of sun beds, sunshades etc to use. Very friendly and warm welcome. Departure easy as well. Shower area to change if you want to before departure home. On bus route to capital.

Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Santa Rosa Apartments in Costa Teguise. The hotel was of a good 3 star standard. Towels/bedding changed regularly and room kept clean. Opted for H/B - food good quality and varied. Large spacious pool with plenty of sunbeds available. The only negative side is that all the entertainment in the hotel is in Spanish as 2/3rds of the people staying here are Spanish. The hotel is situated in the Playa Bastian area of Costa Teguise approx. 15/20 minutes walk to the centre of the resort which may be a problem for some people, but there are taxis which are cheap. The Playa Bastian area has several bars/restaurants and we found it preferable to the centre of Costa Teguise. When we visited in the evening we found the centre lacking in atmosphere and bars etc., dotted here and there and some even closed or run down - maybe victims of the recession. However, on the plus side drinks, food etc., were very cheap!

"Best SC we have stayed in"

Overall Hotel Rating:

We spent a week self-cater, at the Santa Rosa, 16th-23rd Oct, ourselves (husband and wife) and 30 year old cousin.

We had a two bedroomed apartment/bungalow, which was a pleasant surprise as we had only booked a one bedroom with a bed settee, as my cousin joining us had been a last minute thing.

When we first saw the bungalow we were a little apprehensive as it looked out onto a building site. But due to the time of the year, no work was being done so it was nice and quiet with no additional dust.

The bungalow contained ample equipment (including fridge, microwave etc) for us to make our own breakfast/lunches, although we ate out each night. It was by far the best self catering complex we have stayed in.

The swimming pool in the complex was a good size, although abit of heating wouldnt go a miss (we ventured in most days for an hour before lunch - being in our 30s this isnt a young phase, it really does get warmer once you get in!).

There were plenty of beds around the pool, and we always managed to get three together with a brolly, even if we didn't venture round the pool until 11am.

We enjoyed some nice afternoon drinks in the poolside bar (2 for 1 deals for happy hour). The food there was also good value, and decent portions (pizza, sandwiches, etc), although most days we would buy food in from the supermarket (there are two within a two minute walk from the hotel - one to the right and one to the left).

We had a few games of pool (there is an outdoor table by the pool area, plus two in the bowling alley if you want to escape the sun). We didnt do mini golf but believe it was free to guests, and bowling again we didnt do but guests got a discount.

The hotel is a short distance from the beach and Costa Teguise Centre (go the beach way and find the cut through it's quicker). There's a nice bar next door to the hotel which we highly recommend (Steptoes) who do quiz nights, karaoke, etc.

Some good resteraunts around, just look for your bargains basically.

We enjoyed it, and would return again.

Just back from Santa Rosa , this is not a hotel its a basic apartment holiday... Many Spanish people around as older generation get 2 weeks away. Paid for by the state so i am led to believe. Maybe we could adopt the same policy in the UK for our senior citizens. Location was good. Not right in the town centre but within walking distance along the sea front. Good number of local bars for afternoon rest bite from the sun. Overall very impressed and would recommend to friends

Just come back from a great stay at the Santa Rosa apartments. Went in the May half term and although we had some cloudy days, the weather was mostly good. The hotel is very clean and rooms are very large and spacious. Air con would have been nice but you can hire a fan from reception. Lots of room around the pool (you can come out after lunch and there are still sunbeds available.) The gardens are lovely but the pool is freezing! We took the half board option; the food is lovely and there is plenty of variety. Food from the snack bar is also very nice. Staff are really friendly and there is nothing that they cannot do to help. The hotel itself is very quiet. There is not much entertainment at this hotel and the bar closes at half 10 but it is only a 20 min walk into town. Word of warning though if you have young children; there is only one lifeguard round the pool and he does not come out until 2/3 PM. Even then he spent most of time on his phone! All in all, had a great time at the Santa Rosa and would definatly return!

The staff are fab, all really helpful and they have maps of the local area behind reception and will happily highlight to you the best restaurants. The pool is great if a little cold - and salty. There is plenty of room to stretch out during the day. The pool bar is reasonably priced however only ate a snack there and was not expecting too much but it was actually very good. The rooms (in the apartment block) are spacious and clean with everything you need for a self catering holiday if you want to cook. The pool area is spotless too and the pool itself large - great for a swim. A very relaxed atmosphere lots of sun beds available all day long, though at peak times this may change. The dining room offered great value for money with plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner ( we only opted for half board) Food was fresh and some was cooked in front of you at the grills. I wouldn't hestitate in recommending taking the half board option. Each apartment has its own patio area, lots of flowering shrubs make the whole place really attractive. Our apartment was cleaned throughout our stay with clean towels vitually every day.

"Good value for money"

Recently refurbished rooms that are to a very good standard but seriously need either air conditioning or ceiling fans installing. Swimming pools are spacious with a good 0.30m depth in the baby pool, however they are both salt water so be prepared to see your children spitting every two minutes. Mini golf and play ground good for young children, tennis is chargable and is hired out to local people as is a section of the swimming pool on certain days. HB option very good with lots of choice and no one in our party of 7 complained. No air conditioning or ceiling fans in the restaurant either.

A word of warning to all those people looking to book in the height of summer - be prepared to sweat and shower because there is no break from the heat due to lack of fans.

The Santa Rosa apartments were of a good 3 star standard. Regular towel/bedding changes and room cleaned regularly. The food was of a good quality and varied. Pool area spacious and plenty of sunbeds available. The hotel is situated in the Playa Bastian area of Costa Teguise which is approx. 15/20 minutes to the centre. There are enough bars/restaurants in the area we found without walking into Costa Teguise each night. However, this could be a problem possibly for some people - but there are always taxis which are cheap. The only negative side for maybe some people was the entertainment was all Spanish as 2/3rds of the people staying here were Spanish. Otherwise no complaints whatsoever.

me and my husband stayed for five days for the easter period ,we had a chalet type apartment ,it was clean and everything needed if you are staying self catering, even sky tv and you dont have to pay for it,the whole place is great for young families with small children there are no steps any where for children to fall and its got a lovley park and two nice pools and a good poolside bar that sells food and drink that was nice, now here is the downfall if you stay half board or any board then be ready for moaning youngsters or fussy eaters we went in for tea once and breakfast once and the food choice was a joke there was about a eight foot table with all the starters mains and puddings were on that one table it was pathetic that was the only downfall oh and we are not sure about what the entertainment was like we never saw it but if you like self catering this would appeal
