Accomodation was nice and clean, not like some of the comments on these pages. Food in the buffet restaurant was a bit ropey and we ate in ";The Cave"; restaurant a few nights which was really nice and you get 25% off if you are half board. The entertainment was good and my daughter really enjoyed herself but at 4 years old was too young for the kids clubs which was disappointing. Overall a good holiday, wouldn't visit the same resort as it was too spread out, weather was ok but quite windy.

just returned from a week at the teguisol. the apartments aren't as bad as they are painted on here, maybe need just a little sprucing but thats all. our room was very large for the two of us, so people with families will be just fine. the staff were very helpful too. it was our anniversary while we were there, and my hubby being the romantic that he is, had 12 red roses delivered to our apartment courtesy of the reception staff! i don't know how he or they managed it as i never saw one florist the whole time we was there, and we went right around the island!! so like isaid, the staff were VERY helpful.

places to eat........hmm now let me think, i never really found anywhere that was outstanding apart from a little restaurant we went to in puerto del carmen after the carnival,it was so small and typically spanish that i couldn't remember its name...other than that probably lani's.

places not to eat....just one! texas house in the las curachas shopping centre. i ordered fajitas but got more than i bargained for........a stripey backed insect complete with legs...absolutely disgusting!!
when i complained the waitress just took it away and asked did i want another....... i declined.

the weather was mixed, it didn't rain, but two of the days we had really bad winds, a couple of scattered cloudy days mixed with brilliant sunshine, and it was warm. at the time we were there it was snowing here, so we didn't complain about the wind too much. i came home a nice colour, but no-one can see it as i'm too wrapped up here.
places to visit........we hired a car for 3 days and toured the island. playa blanca in the south is lovely, if i ever go back to lanzarote that is where i will stay, and orzola in the north was quite pretty but not touristy. a trip up ";the fire mountain"; is a must, just to see the locals create a geyser with a bucket of water..

overall a very good holiday. i would go back, but to a different resort. costa teguise is very spread out so you do, do a lot of walking, unless like us you get lazy and go everywhere by car!!

I went to the Costa Teguise at Easter 2005 and the weather was lovely. Got a lovely tan although some people got burned badly so be careful as the sun is stronger than you think. The beaches were good and there were lots of nice places to eat out. We walked down to 'Jabilio'(?) and there were lots of nice places to eat down there in the evening. We ate out every night and it was not pricey. We did eat at the Cave restaurant and the food there was nice and the waiters very attentive.

As for the Teguisol it was definitly good value for money. There was a good supermarket on site and the pool was ok although it wasn't heated. There were lots of sun beds around but they do fill up early!

Overall we really enjoyed our holiday and are in fact returning to Lanzarote again this year (2006) but NOT to the Teguisol. The main reason for this is because the entertainment team there became extremely annoying. I know they have a certain job to do but in actual fact they became a nuisance, especially when you were trying to relax round the pool and they continued badgering you into playing games.

The final straw with the ents team though was being asked... or demanded for want of a better word, to tick the excellent box when rating their performance on the plane home. If they had confidence that they were doing a good job and appealing to all sections of their audience then maybe they would not have to beg people to say to their bosses that they were excellent?!

got home yesterday (9th march) from the teguisol and we're all gutted to be home!!!

when we arrived at the hotel, thanks to others advice, one of us got the cases while the other queued to book in as it was very busy,so do try to do this!!

the room itself was huge compared to any we've ever stayed in and was very clean as was the complex! and the cleaners came 5 days from 7. although we barely used it( half board) the cooking facilities were excellent!

the resort of costa teguise is small but lovely and the sunday market is great. we also went to puerto del carmen for an afternoon which was also lovely but didn't really have anything that different to teguise.

the food in the buffet restaurant was varied and good most of the time although i mainly stuck to the salad which was always very fresh. we ate in the cave restaurant on our last night which was excellent and you get 25% off if you're half board! sadly, the food from the on site chinese restaurant was awful and thats putting it mildly!!

the entertainment in the complex made our holiday!!! we rarely left the complex!! without a doubt these reps and entertainment staff are the BEST!!! always happy and always pleased to do what they can for you. the fun and games for the kids is second to none!( the adults games were fun too!!) and they made sure all the kids won something even my little 'un, who decided he wanted to be in charge of the 'pass the hat' game and Adam just let him get on with it much to his and our delight!! THANKS A LOT ADAM!! and thanks to all the others. Gemma ( fantastic singer),Sarah (lovely with all kids) Donna, Leah, other Adam and the little lady who's name i don't remember sorry and anyone i've missed out.
you should all feel very proud of yourselves for all the work you put in. any new reps ought to come and see you so they know how its done!!!

we all enjoyed this holiday, would recommend the resort and complex to anyone and will definatly go again.

Teguisol Apartments: Get in the queue for check-in near the front as it is a very lengthy process.
You are then given a map to find your designated room, smile at the security guard, who was the nicest man there and you may be lucky enough for him to take you to your room.
The apartment had one thing in its favour, it was an excellent size. However it was dirty throughout.Black grouting, foul urine smelling bathroom, cockroaches in the bath, bugs living in kitchen worktops. Our bins were changed daily and towels every three to four days. Sheets however were only changed once in a fortnight, but the pillowcases were not. We kept our cases under our beds and at the end of our stay we took them out and had to clean them!

Location was very good, a pleasant ten minute stroll to lovely clean beaches.Shang Hai restaurant great if you like chinese food, Tiannamen although recommended in Thomas Cook guide was awful!

Stay away from the Thomas Cook entertainment unless you have had ample drinks.

On the whole Lanzarote was nice but no way could I reccomend Teguisol or Thomas Cook.

Teuisol Apartments are very old and need up dating badly, pool was freezin and very dirty, food in the resturant was very boring if people didn't eat the food it was brought out the next day. The supermarket on site was not bad, what the need to do is make it alot easiser for people to find there rooms because there are no signs on site.We found the room very dirty and the maid took all day to clean the room that's if she wanted to do it.

We will go back to lanzarote but not here.

Hi just returned from a 1 weeks holiday at the Teguisol, we were very apprehensive to say the least before going due to mixed reviews. But thankfully had nothing to worry about, to be frank i think it boils down to each to there own.

Apartments are fairly big ours was clean, tidy and the sun (when we had it) loved the balconey. People have said Kitchen not great but we had steak with potatoes mushrooms and veg 1night, by just using the 2x hobs and the microwave (and had seafood pasta another night)so easy to cook in.

The Cave restaurant serves great food we had a lovely steak here, but would say that the Tex Mex steak house at the end of the Beach (looks like it leads to a dead end)serves the best food in town we went there on our first and last night found the prices were good.(All 3 of us had 3 courses 2 soft drinks each and 2x bottles of wine and it came to about 80euros). The pub next door is a good laugh.

Many people had good things to say about Lani's and The Tent but found both disappointing, Lani's was very over priced for what it was,(if you like your food to look nice but taste nothing like Tex Mex then you will like it)boyfriend ordered calzone which was huge but not the best he has had and i had burritos (one turned up) which had 4 small slices of meat in it and was covered in sauce. For starters we all had Nacos again they looked great but very dry no salsa no dips atall we had 2 courses each 1 soft drink and 1 bottle of wine and it came to about 75euros. The tent was ok but didn't feel it was as good as everyone was saying but worth it for the unlimited beer, wine, and soft drinks.

My little sister really enjoyed the Texas Ranch (went there in the day only), and we pretty much done every thing there was to do on the island and thought it was all good, the people are friendly, Weather wasn't that good but warmer than back home so always a good thing.

Overall it was a lovely relaxing cheap holiday with lovely appartments, great pool, and a lovely resort (i'd say better than others).

Car Hire cost about £75 for 5days and was a nice car. (From Direct cars)

Where can we start. An absolutely amazing holiday at the Teguisol. 1st time there and going back in March!!

Accomodation-We had 3 apartments in total, 2 next to each other and 1 above, with great views to the pools. Clean, basic, and very 70's!!-Definately needs a revamp, but still good. However, the sofa bed is not very strong and can break under pressure!!!! Cleaned daily, and occasional visits from the manager to chat about our stay and make sure we were happy. Pay as you go tv-whats that all about???

Restuarants and bars-Could not fault them, they catered for everyone and always had very friendly staff to chat to-Antonio!!! Bar staff in the club were great egging you on to spend your money in happy hour!! Off-site, we totally-100% advise you to go to Popeye's and say hi to Scott, Gill and the gang. Very good food, drink, company, service and football for all supporters-if required.

Entertainment-Well what can we say about them??
*Stratford-Never saw her around in the daytime, and could've been more of a team player, a bit boring really.
*Jenga-very sweet, good laugh, and did her swim for the variety club childrens charity-'Do it for the kids Jenga!' Lovely girl.
*Adam-Started off as a pain in the bum when it comes to the midday quiz. Very patriotic, and loves the union jack!!! True Londoner, shame about the footbal team huni!! Very good at his job, has lots of energy and aims to please. Want to see him back there next March. We loved Bingo!!!

All in all a great holiday from places to visit, cars to hire and the place we stayed. Go there you won't be dissapointed!!

See you soon,
The Newtons in Aylesbury!!!
-(Booked through Serena, Thomas Cook, Aylesbury Branch, the staff done us proud!!)

This was our first time in Lanzarote, loved the place. Hotel accommodation was in need of some TLC, was a little run down but basically ok. Towels had seen better days but we did go at the end of the season. We were half board and the food was great, lots of choice and very tasty. There were 12 in our party and no complaints.

The new years eve gala meal was gorgeous and was included in the half board package. Entertainment was good, definetly a child friendly hotel if your taking kids. The 8 year old with us went to kids club every day and loved it and it was non chargeable (previous review says its was 5 euro per session but it was free, apart from the party evenings)The hotel is slightly on the edge of Costa Teguise and althoug the walk wasnt miles, we wouldnt recommend the less mobile using it unless you want to use taxi's and buses.

Would definetly go back, very good value for money.

This hotel is awful. The food was dire, the entertainment the worst I have ever come across, the staff were annoying and seemed to think that they were real superstars!

Lanzarote itself was lovely and we hired a car to get away from the hotel. Even though we were half board, we only ate in the hotel once and that was enough.

The pool area was scruffy and overcrowded. The place could do with renovating.

Lanzarote yes, but give this place a miss.

Hi,We have just returned from a weeks break at the teguisol. The apartments are spacious, clean, and basic although alittle upgrade wouldnt do them any harm. Our room was quite and the balcony was in full sun.

We went self catering so I cant comment on the food at the hotel restaurtant, however we did have a chinese takeway from the chinese on site which was good value for money. The rest of the time we ate out. The kitchen in the apartment is basically equipped to cook breakfast however I wouldnt like to cook a big meal in it. The location of Tequisol is on the outskirt of the resort. It takes about 10 minutes to walk into the centre however you are always walking past shops along the way and ten minutes on holiday is nothing. The weather was good for January. Alittle cool some days and the odd shower but when the sum was out it was hot. The kids clubs are free this year which was a bonus. Our two went a couple of times and had a really great time. In the hotel every night there is a mini disco fo 45 minutes which played different songs and games each time.

For a cheap week of wintersun this place was just the ticket. We went with no expectation and had a thoroughly great time.

hi,just arrived back from tegisol appartments.I was a bit apprehensive about them due to some bad write ups but the complex was great.Pity we couldn't book the weather as it was shocking.Freezing cold and wet, only 2 days of sun and on top of that my youngest caught chicken pox, which cost us 2 trips to the hospital and a lot more in euros! But the complex was great well equiped kitchen(micro toaster, and fridge/freezer).Site shop more expensive than other s.markets and on the one occasion we drank at the club drinks were expensive(or the barman caught me)! best advice if going now is take a brolly and warm clothes!we go every year to the canaries in jan.but never have we been so cold.good luck sarah
