The bad points (My opinion!!)
1) Ramps leading to rooms very steep and dangerous when wet or even when dry in some cases
2) Noisy round the pool most of the day, this is for the kids so don't go to the pool if you want a quiet time.
3)Organised trips rather expensive.
4)TV eats euros like there's no tomorrow!

The good points:-
1)Excellent journey to Costa Teguise, no holdups no problems booking in the Teguisol ,well organised
2)Apartment basic but clean, enough equipment to self cater. (We did half board)
3)Hotel food excellent, didn't have one bad meal the whole week.
4)Bar/catering staff friendly and helpful. (Thanks Melinda, love you lots!)
5)Sunset reps. capable but mainly orientated towards the kids.

This is my second trip to Costa Teguise and my first to the Teguisol, I am making a return trip in February.
With regards to some of the overpriced trips on offer, I suggest you do a little exploration yourselves, for example, a trip to Teguise market on a Sunday, travel agent price 14 euros each, taxi price 24 euros return, bus costs 4 euros each return. We found the local bus very cheap, clean and they run on time. Even when ours broke down on the way to Peurto Del Carmen, we had a replacement within 5 mins. Oh that it were like that in England!

remember you are in a foreign country! If you want everything to be like England, holiday in Bognor or some other English seaside town! Have a spirit of adventure, get out on your own. Get to know the island and it's people who are warm and friendly and very helpful. As tourists in Costa Teguise are mainly Brits, kindly stop chucking your litter around the streets. I'm going to live on the island soon and I don't want it messed up!

hi everyone reading this, i am jo/jenga that worked at the teguisol and iv just come back from sunny lanzarote and i have spent all year reading all the guests comments about the teguisol so i thought id write a few thoughts of my own.

as i lived there for 6 months and feel i have abit of knowlodge of the tegisol, well lets start withb the staff, i can honestly say they are all incredible the spanish speak very good english and will bend over backwards to help u the english staff are amazing and alot our now my close friends. the teguisol has a great kids club for ages 5-12 there u will find anna bannna,dj,and many more fab people that i met jusdt before iu came home. u have a new entertainments team that i had the pleasure of meeting just before i came home jo,dan and kerry. they are very talanted and a very strong team so if u r going say hi to them from me.

ok now to the hotel and apartments i lived in the teguisol and had a 2 bed room apartment i thought it was lovely i think it all depends on peoples standards really and how much people pay so please dont judge ur holiday before u have even got there by what people say on here.the bad thing about the tegisol is the salt water pool although its not as bad as people make out. the food is very good as well im a fussey eater and i always had alot of choice.

the best bars i recommend are; for food and hospitality ferraris i was there every day they are having a make over at the mo so when u go it will be brand new so pop in and see hazel and the rest of her crew u will love them, also near by theres a bar called cacktus jacks iuts a karaoke bar thats quite busy and a good laugh ill miss it very much so. o and i forgot the best pizza place around is the filling station its devine PLEASE GO THERE. when i left it was still blazing hot so happy holidays and say hi to every oner i mentioned if u go there wish i was coming with u, and please have an open mind and decied for yourself x i love and will miss the tegisol and im sure u will too

We found the Teguisol a brilliant place to stay, ideal for families. There is lots to keep you all entertained. The entertainment team are full of energy and keep everyone amused.
The apartments are very spacious although a little worn. We went with some friends and asked to be next to each other, we also requested a pool view, we were not disappointed. I would say we had one of the best situated apartments. If you make a request they do listen to you.
The hotel staff are very friendly and polite.

We found the hotel bar prices to be rather expensive, so tended to go out at night. We spent quite alot of nights at Cactus Jacks, which is just down the road. Here we had a good meal and were entertained, Happy hour from 8pm - 9pm and 12- 1pm. The staff here are so friendly and kind especially Alex and Lee, they made us all feel welcome, with lots of free shots!!

We went on a cruise to Fuerterventura, This was a really good day out and well worth the money.
The Jmc reps were not very helpful and did not know much about the local area except for selling their days out.
We had very good weather whilst we were in Lanzarote although the locals did say it was cool for this time of year.
We would definately go back again.

Lanzarote as a holiday destination is a great choice. Yes, the weather can sometimes be hit and miss but there are plenty of excursions or independant sight seeing trips available for the ";cloudy"; days.
The beaches are lovely and the Promenades and grounds are stunning.
There is plenty of chaoice of Restaurants although it does lack typical Spanish restauarants and Tapas Bars.

If you have booked the Teguisol give it a miss.
It's dirty, untidy with lazy, unappreciative staff who, quite frankly, think they are doing you a favour!!!

The pool area was cleaned only twice in a seven day period (and in the morning, just as guests were coming down to use the pool..!!)
I did not see the pool being cleaned at all in the week of my stay.

It is sub standard accomodation that is pushing acceptability even for a budget ";last minute"; deal let alone any poor soul that forks out full price for a holiday here.

Slow responses from the Reps. who did not appear to have any interest at all in helping or dealing with a problem to its' conclusion.
A third visit to Reception finally got the additional bedding required. ";How hard can it be to find two extra pillows....?";

Two requests for the apartment to be cleaned (check under the spare bed in the lounge and you'll get the picture...)resulted in no further visit from the maids all week other than to provide toilet rolls.....

And should you experience a change in climate be prepared for the Kids Entertainment team to take the day off.

In my opinion bad weather is probably the time when the kids really need entertaining, but not here.
There are two tennis courts and a football pitch marked out behind the apartments which was only used once, for two hours, by the Kids Club.

For indepedant use it's e6.50 to hire the Tennis equipment so you can get the pitches unlocked to play football.

The Teguisol owners appear to be working Sunset / Thomas Cook, not the other way around.
For the revenue earned from the British holiday makers this complex should be shut down and refurbished and the staff completely retrained in Customer Service.

Booked this holiday 3 weeks before departure, was a little dubious about the accommodation after reading comments on this site.

Arrived at Teguisol lunchtime , most of the people on the bus were going to our appartments but the reception staff were excellent and it wasn't long before we had the key to our appt.

We found the room to be very clean and spacious ,unpacked and headed off to explore .First stop was Robinson beach bar where we enjoyed a lovely sirloin steak baguette . We made alot of return visits to this bar as the food was excellent and people very friendly and helpful.

We also found a lovely restaurant The British Carvery which had excellent carverys and friendly staff.
all the staff were helpful and friendly at the Teguisol ,especially the entertainments team (Cat, Brendan and Jo ), they put alot of effort into keeping everyone happy and well entertained, although we didn't have any kids with us this was the place to be.
All in all we had a very good holiday and would definetly go back here.

Went out new years day for 1 week, the weather was not great. A bit of rain, but still warm. Only one good day of sunshine.

The tequisol was much better than expected (not one cockroach). Rooms were clean and large. Very large balcony. Clean sheets and towels 4 times in the week. Had all you need to self cater, but we were half board. The evening food was ok, the breakfast was very good. Staff could not be more friendly. Went scuba diving 3 times. Went with calipso Diving in the centre of the resort. Again very friendly staff, the dives were fantastic.

We took the kids in the yellow submarine, so they could see what I had, highly recommend this. Never thought I would ever get the chance to go in one, totally amazing. Went on the medieval nights evening. Not quite what we expected. But the 'compere' douggie was brilliant, very funny. And all the beer and sangria you can drink!!.

Highly recommend the Chinese to the front and left of the shopping centre, has to be one of the best Chinese meals we have ever had. But the best thing that kept us from going stir crazy (because of the weather) was the hotel entertainment, Cat, Brendon and Jo. I have never liked hotel entertainment before, always like to be left alone. But they are a great trio. Kept us happy for the whole 7 days. The kids loved them. They are still doing the dances at home everyday. But advise anyone to video them dancing, as the cd you can buy is a slower version. Where Jo gets her energy... I want to know!!!.

We would not have any problems in going back there again.

Arrived on the 15th Jan about tea time not very many people around due to the clouds. First impressions, clean large rooms, pleasant staff and nice big pool.

The next few days we left the apt behind and hired a car with Elizabeth cars (reasonably priced and good cars)
Mirador le rio Very nice a must go and see. Then drove all over seeing all the sites PlayaBlanca, Puerto del carmen Papagayo beaches another must see.

Timanfaya park hire a car and go its cheaper than rep trips.
We got rid of the car and spent the next few days by the pool , very nice pool area clean and lots of room only problem the pool is a little cold. If you have kids find out if you can book kids club with holiday if cheaper because when you get here its 5 euro per child per session with three sessions a day and with two kids who keep asking to go it can soon mount up.

There are lots of nice resturants in Costa Teguise one being the cave in the Teguisol, La Provence a popular grill resturant and La Mastil opposite the Lighthouse.
There were a lot of nice familys staying at the Teguisol who always turned up for the evenings entertainment and the daytime family fun by the pool.

The entertainment team were really good (Cat,BrendanandJoe) they kept us all amussed and intrigued the whole holiday just hope they will be there if you go.

Do take extra towels with you and shop around things are cheaper just two minutes down the road.
Try and get hold of lanzarote pocket guide its got loads of uses.

teguisol was a great place to visit. i am the second youngest in the family and desoerately wanted to write this review of my own as i enjoyed it so much.

i enjoyed the flight as thomas cook showed 'shrek 2' when we were going to lanzarote. the view from the plane was tremendous you could see nearly inside the volcano craters. the place looked promising.when e got to the hotel it was rainy and wet but that didnt let us down as the weather for the rest of the holiday was beautiful. first of all the poolside entertainment was great as the entertainers were so god and had a great schedule. it kept the whole family going. but if you stay at the poolside too long you get bored.

so you needed advanture. there was a meeting for the parents on the first whole day of your holiday. they gave all the info about the kids clubs and also gave out a leaflet telling you about al the tours and excursions you could go on.the only downside of the excursions was the prices so we all suggest you pick up a leaflet that this man gives out on the streets or they are just lying around on the streets. the leaflet is caled 'lastminute.com' and the excursions in this are much cheaper.

we went on the grand tour it was great we got to see lots of rare things like volcanoes and caves that were designed by 'cesar marnique' who is a famous inventor if you like it in lanzarote.there were many other great things on the tour. on another night we went to the medieval times show. it was agreat laugh for all the family.

puerto del carmen is a great town if you are a shopaholic. it is only a 35 minute drive from the teguisol and the bus fare is 2.25euros. the evening entertainment is fun for all as there is a variety of shows. the on site supermarket is too expensive i suggest you got to netto. there are about 3 nettos that are walkig distance from the teguisol.or also if you head in the other direction there is a supermarket labelled 'maxcoop' that is in other words 'spar' do not drink from the taps and do not boil water from the tap.

the swimming pool is great but it is so funny when people turn up early in the morning for a sunbed as they are half dressed and half asleep. the room was great but the tv is a paying one. we saw many insects and also one cockroach but htey dont spoil your holiday. always keep your windows open during the night as you have to let some breeze in. it gets a bit stuffy. the poolside bar food is nice. vikki is the best entertainer. the bar staff have bo(bad odour) and are sometimes freaky. buffet downstairs is nice. also the chinese restaurant's sweet and sour chicken is so nice. there are also many places to eat within walking distance.

overall a great holiday. would reccomend to everyone especially families with kids.

The acccomadation is very good, the rooms are big, with big balconies, always kept very clean by the maids, not one siteing of any cockroches, but couple of ants from time to time.

The one big promblem was you are sat onto top of each other around the pool and the rep wasnt intrested in entertaining the kids around the pool and at night just adults and the shows they put on the only talented person was Lexi, there was a kids disco on for 20 mins a night, whats the use in that they only did about 4 dances one game and that was it they was told to sit down for the rest of the evening, another thing was all the rep was bothered about was ticking the exerlant box on the plane on the way home.

I wasnt going to write this but felt that the reps who made this holiday needed a great big pat on the back!!!

The teguisol wasnt much to write home about, a few qiud spent on updating it wouldnt go a miss, but overall average.

What wasnt average was the time and effort that the reps (too many to mention them all by name) were fantastic! especially (i think her name is vicky)the main rep. but Adam and the rest of the kids club team were brilliant.

A BIG WELL DONE FOR KEEPING EVERYONE ENTERTAINED!!

Costa Teguise is a lovely place, food is good, weather was nice, all in all a nice weeks break in the sun!

Many Thanks again.

The Teguisol is above average accommodation, which needs slight refurbishment. Our apartment was clean and spacious with regular maid service who always changed the towels and left a plentiful supply of toilet rolls! The complex is pleasant and has 2 pools one for children.

The rep's run a kiddies club and daily poolside entertainment consisting of quizzes, killer pool, water polo etc. At night there is a kiddies disco then bingo followed by entertainment, often provided by the reps. Nights when there is a 'top local artist' are the best. There are 2 Happy Hours but when we ordered Sangria we were told it was not included. So what is, just the dishwater? A large beer is 2.8E in the Tegiousol but can be had for as cheap as 1.5 elsewhere. The complex has 2 restaurants for self-caterers. 'The Cave' grill provides excellent food, the mixed grill for 2 at less than 10E per person is particular good value and the spare rib is also delicious if a little messy! There is a Chinese too and Pizzas but we never tried them.

The complex has a supermarket, which is expensive compared with others, and prices generally are 50% more than at home. It's worth taking your own bacon, sausage, cornflakes, teabags; coffee etc The complex is a bit of a hike to the main drag although there is a Sports Bar (footie) round the corner, The Las Cucharas Commercial Centre is about 15 minutes walk where there are bars and restaurants. The Santander Bank gives very good exchange for American Express Travelers Cheques! The Italian, Portebellos does delicious Pizzas from 6E but their 3 course special for 9E is disappointing because there is no bun with the soup or garnish or vegetables with the main course. If you walk through the Los Cucharas Centre and turn right 5 minutes along the beach you will come to the beginnings of the main drag. On the way is Poco Loco who do give you a bun with the soup on the 3 course special for 7.5E then charge you an extra 1E for it! If instead you walk past the Los Cucharas Centre and over the small 'bridge', set back off the road on the left is ";The Pearl of the Atlantic 2' restaurant who do an excellent 5 course including a bun, a glass of plonk and a liqueur for 10E and that can include Steak with mushroom sauce! The Slow Boat Chinese in the main centre does good value, tasty food but avoid the 'beef' dishes! Many bars in the town centre have singers on at night. Scotch and Wry on Thursdays was our favourite.

You can take a local bus to Arrecife and Puerto Del Carmen (and Teguise market) for a change but it's nicer at Costa Teguise. So the Tegiosol and Costa Teguise have all the ingredients of a really good holiday. Pity they throw you out of your room at 10am on departure day irrelevant of your flight time!

The rooms have adequate facilities but standard the staff were always pleasant.
We were self catering for two weeks but ate out every day. We had breakfast every day at popeyes bar and often returned at night for evening meal( great food and great value) The beaches were clean but the weather was pretty poor so were only on the beach for a couple of days.
There was not much entertainment but would recommend the hypnotist on a saturday night at Los Zocos 9.30.

In general we would recommend this resort for all ages. Great family holiday.
